Hey, it's nice to be mentioned in just about every report... but don't feel like you HAVE to do captions. I really enjoyed this report the way it was. I started the caption think and continued to use it so that my reports would be clearly recognizable as a certain style. I felt that consistency would help people to identify with the way I create a battlereport. You've all read Phoenix Legion Chronicles right? You can see that AQD3 has a clear style.
Anyway, I'm going to be finishing the FFA series in YRM style, and after that, I plan on radically altering the style. It ain't like that's the only way to make a report.
If you want to add humor, and you feel strongly about using speech balloons, go for it. You'll notice however, that it's starting to become cool to say stuff like, "I never really liked captions", or "I like more serious reports"
Personally, I think that the idea is starting to become a bit stale, with so many people doing it, which is why I'm going away from it after the FFA series is over.
My favorite use of humor in a recent report was the stage setting in Pitt's report where the overlord comes out and sings. I was really laughing hard at that. |
