I agree, you did deserve to lose this game.
Are you trying to say that the lurker rush is a viable counter to the early expanding toss on Temple? Or are you just trying to tell us that you played shitty and won anyway? Just curious.
It was a good report. The descriptions were very clear so pictures weren't necessary although they would have made the report more appealing to the eye. :p

One more thing, don't feel bad about playing low ranked people. When I first started this season, I tried to play people near my rating. But once you hit 1150 and above, it gets difficult. My games names usually look like this.
1vs1 1065+ I'm 1162.

| Nice report. I am not sure why you were unable to send another probe to look at his tech of choice. Lurker rush is like the dumbest thing you can do against a toss player on a map like temple. Lurkers are good on temple to do things which distract your opponent for example you can cliff siege or mid game containment if they are pure power players. However since any decent toss player already has a forge to get upgraded and cannons warp incredibly fast hoping to kill a toss regardless or their strat isnt a good plan. |

Yeah, seeing early gas and Lair and assuming mutas was a booboo... ya should have lost.
Then again, your opponent should have won (if you catch the subtle difference). Had he cliff sieged you and build more Zerglings vs your Goons, he probably WOULD have. So he had no right in trash talking you. He got cocky and overconfident, and lost. End of story.
Very interesting game, though.

My God.
He must have had so many excess minerals after going lurkers AND guardians. Just a few lings should have killed you esp. against goons... You were lucky there :) |

I also had a scary lurker experience recently, but instead I got my ass handed to me. It happened monday night, I was playing brood war for the first time in 6 months so I was rusty to say the least. I ask any one in NoHunters for a 1v1, Evire!! excepts and we play on rivalry. I do a medic augmented marine rush and I'm pretty happy but when I scan I see 4 hydras coming down the ramp. Okay no worries, but when the M&M get their they're morphing in to lurker eggs!!! Ahhh!! I panic and have my M&M attack the eggs and actually succeed in killing one before the other three slowly push my forces back to my base, killing any turret attempts, just as I'm ready to tank push back he attacks with a swarm of Mutas and I say GG and quit. Of course since I had stim I should have just went in to his base and killed his stuff, I could've, but I paniced and lost. GG anyway. So that's my scary lurker story.

Nice post. I can feel the action, even without pictures.
I think 1v1's are generally better to read about than 2v2's.
You should have lost! Good grief. All he had to do was send zerglings to destroy everything in sight while he had all your units pinned to your cannon. Or hydras. Guardians were the wrong choice, definitely. Or he could have used the time to just plant hatcheries at 3 or 6 spots, and then out-produce you to death.
Nice comeback. It's nice to read about other people screwing up and still coming back to win. I am pretty good at the screwing up part; it's the coming back that I haven't figured out yet. |

Ahh...the misadventures of miss-scouting a zerg...I did the same thing once before, but the units were reversed...I though he was lurkering & he went muties....that was a ~damn~ hard game. Fun pulling victories from the jaws of defeat though, hey?
;)
All the best,

I was just wondering if any of you had experiance with a zerg who takes both naturals on temple againt this. I have hadlittle experiance with anyone who truely knew what they were doing witht that strat but when I did a double expand start won me the game. Although it is probably becuase I managed to take 2 more in quick succession.
