Mr. Davy, When i look at this scenario I see his[YRM's] word against yours. Now, there are two things that make me inclined to believe him over you:
1) YRM is a well-known figure and from all accounts I've seen a well-respected and all-around nice guy.
2) I happened upon the channel right after the game and you were acting extremely childish and whiney, using caps lock and a nearly constant stream of expletives.
If you have a disagreement, then there is no reason for not working it out maturely, that kind of behavior will win you no friends, admirers or believers. Think about it. |

Davy, let me just state the facts:
1 - I had secured RubberDucky's nearly full natural and mineral natural AFTER mining OUT my main, my natural, my mineral natural, and the south island.
2 - After I shot down 6 dropships and 8 valkries with my carriers, you killed four of 9 with cloaked wraiths... 3 of those four had Parasites. I had 6,000 in the bank and I left the parasited carriers behind so the 7 in my queue could finish. I had forces in my queue that couldn't build and still had 6000/6000 in the bank. Finally I had to trade some forces so that I could build the arbiters.
3 - I attached 5 observers to 5 seperate carriers in my fleet... try comstating and picking out all five?
I had another bunch around the map if those five failed, and my carriers were 3/3.
4 - I had a bunch of templar and goons sitting around. I figured... "Let him kill a nexus at a mined out site... come closer to my cliff that has shield batteries!"
5 - I was throwing money down all game on spaced out cannons at all my sites to slow down any "rapid attacks". By the time you seiged anywhere I was concerned about, I could pick you apart.
6 - How much money did you still have mining in? Your forces weren't replaceable right?
7 - Tank/Goliath Combo? Vs Air? Isn't that just Goliaths? Your Valkries were NOTHING... they died so fast even i was shocked. All I had to to was protect my tech and money while picking you apart. I saw no signs of Ghosts, and that should tell everyone here how prepared you were to fight me... even you, in your idiocy, don't mention Ghosts.
8 - I had your push scouted dude... I watched you kill Twips mineral natural and fight the force of cracklings and hydras that he was going to use on me. It was fun throwing storm on both of your forces.
9 - I got tank pushed by a good tank pusher in a subsequent game (Bear with Gas)... Davy... I dropped two reavers on your tank group... killed 4, and another died from your own tanks! You suck? Where were your goliaths then? (BTW, thanks for letting me clear enough supply for the arbiters with that productive drop)
This is too funny. I guess it's a pet peeve of mine when people rub in if they win... you've taken the cake by rubbing in "I owned YRM" on a game that you clearly had NO CHANCE of winning. The only things I did wrong that game were letting you piss me off and not having a DSL modem yet.
I guess if someone picks where to fight their battles, you must be owning them... my bad. People here know that I know first hand about getting OWNED... heh, and you weren't gonna do it. Just say to yourself, "I yam amazing" and you'll feel better.

Oh yeah, I had 4 D-Web ready corsairs north of my carriers to assist vs wraiths and gollies... I could have switched to heavy corsiars and zealots/reavers in a heartbeat...
Another mistake I made was not taking screenshots... I didn't realize Davy would say this stuff until after the game when I asked Twip who dropped me (my lag gets bad for a few minutes, then goes away for about 20, then repeats, don't ask...). Twip told me that Davy said he was owning me and I dropped.

This is to Twip... the only way I could have lost this game was if Davy had been smart and let you attack me before battling it out with your little horde of forces below your main. In a FFA, you always let people fight it out if possible before stepping in. The only successfull attack against me came when I was mind-controling the remains of Ducky's stuff in the mid-game. (4 carriers for 8 valks and 6 dropships isn't a win Davy) I was going to use an all Terran expansion at Ducky's natural to save supply from excess probes. I was planning on teching to medics to remove all of the awful parasites, and Twip took my budding expansion down with a hard crackling swarm before I could adequately defend that site. Of course, I retook it later.
And Templar ARE good vs tanks in open area if you rush zealots in first. That is what lead to TRD's "I'm not dropping because Templar are gay" comment. I do believe TRD about why he left, but since it was right after losing a bunch of tanks to storm, he made that disclaimer. |

As veteran of having connections being terminated between myself and the internet, I would have to say that being down 20k in points, regardless of the situation, does not constitute a victory on reporter's part. If there was a small difference in score and YRM had no offensive weapons, then yes, reporter would have won.
Seems like the old Disconnect-equals-automatic-win-syndrome. Judging from what I see, Everyone'sRoleModel had the upper hand. Heck, if you are 'waiting' for arbiters, you are going to do something nasty.

I had 3 valks and 4 wraiths attack from one side to confuse you while i had 12 other cloaked wraiths attack from the other to do the real damage. And you keep saying i wasted dropships? Oh yeah, you cleared space with dropship instead of some of your NON-MINING SCVs, smart. I figured I'd warp in some more production buildings and run you over too, but you dropped me. I guess that's what had me frustrated... you DIDN'T want to drop me early when I had reaver drops for Twip and TRD, but... in the end, Twip didn't drop me, and I didn't drop me, and I didn't lose my connection to b-net... so... I guess *wink wink* no one will ever be able to figure out what would have happened if you hadn't dropped me.
You're right, supported Carriers over cliffs with shield batteries and observer/cannon detection everywhere are easy to kill with golaiths and wraiths. I guess I would have just had to keep making them huh?

Grudge Matches are fine and good, but whether or not Davy can beat me 1-1 wouldn't change the fact that I had him in this game. If he beats me one on one, great, it doesn't change anything... if I beat him, it still doesn't change anything.
I didn't have shield batteries at Ducky's natural, I had them on my Main. But let's say you started hitting the outer cannons with tanks, heading towards 6:00... how long does it take me to warp in 3-4 new shield batteries with 6,000/6,000? At the time you were attacking towards my main, but I wasn't worried with 12 carriers sitting there and the ability to stasis you or recall around the map coming with my nearly finished arbiters.
Counters are fine and good Davy, but the best counter to Carriers is lockdown, and you didn't have it. Goliaths DON'T beat carriers at 3/3 with cliffs around... and wraiths are only good if I can't see them. Don't forget I could just d-web your tanks if I wanted to attack on the ground. I had counters to everything too, and a maxed out Protoss economy. I was not "sitting there doing nothing"... I attacked Twip and TRD at strategic times with good result. I held of a Ducky tank push pretty well before he left (that's not why he left). You mean I shouldn't have let you fight Twip for me? Twip was getting ready to swarm me... sure, you guys fight it out. FFA is different than 1-1, and I happen to be a fairly good FFA player because I know how to watch the balance of the game.
Terran are GREAT in FFA (especially with ghosts/nuke or supported battlecruiser fleets), and I have to admit, they do have the best combination of units if they are on equal footing with the other races BUT.. not MINED OUT vs a top tech 200 supply, money in the bank, money coming in Protoss player with cannon coverage over HALF the map and a mobile force.
I'll rematch you when I get a DSL connection so that you can't use MY LAG as an opportunity to grap your own jock, Davy. You looked at what I had after the game, I am sure... probably seeing about 80% of it not counting spare cash, spell abilities, stacked or covered unit, and units in the queue.
I have an idea though, why don't you go tell more of your "friends" to post? Maybe they could tell me how you really had 12 ghosts with clone lockdown coming too? Wait... couldn't I just recall my carriers back to the shield batteries if the 12 of them got in trouble? Oh yeah... |

Yeah, this is kind of fun... at first, I was really pissed off at Davy, but I really have to thank him for providing an interesting little piece of daily intertainment. That's also why I keep firing back...
loti, my MAIN concern WAS plague by Twip... if he had plagued my Carrier fleet, a good EMP blast by Davy might have put those carriers down fast enough that I might end up struggling to stop the tank push. Fortunately, Davy attacked Twip for me, and I didn't notice any defilers.
You can avoid plague by scouting a bit ahead if possible or by doing Carrier hit and runs... Attack a unit with your Carriers... as soon as your interceptors launch, retreat your carriers. The interceptors, say 12 carriers, 8 interceptors each, will kill most units in one pass before retreating with your Carriers. You do this near cliffs or over islands to take out key units and retreat before storm or EMP or plague can hit. Of course, there is no way to ALWAYS avoid plague, but that's what I do. |

Anyone can win a FFA, but just ask .Praetor, there is some skill involved in trying to balance everyone else below you rather than kill one person and leave yourself open.
Davy probably did have more kills and units lost than I did, since he had a few battles with Twip. Some of his score was surely from kills, while mine was mostly from the power I had saved up. I had some periods of very cost effective killing, but when I was dropped I was 20,000+ ahead of Davy, despite the fact that he got points from fighting Twip.
I only argue like this when I am 100% sure of what I am saying...
Fact is though, had Davy come out and said (or said to Twip) "Well it looks like you dropped before the game could be decided 100%, I think I might have won eventually, but good game." I probably would have let it slide, knowing for sure that I had it, but oh well... instead, he tells Twip how he was owning me when I dropped. To be OWNING someone, I think they have to have less than 200 supply, but what do I know? |

I have gone from being ready to tear Davy a new orifice to feeling sorry for him. He doesn't get that I am just kidding around with him by now...
Davy, you're about 13 or so right? I can understand why you'd think you were going to beat me... I was holding alot of my power back for the best place to fight my battles. I hadn't used any effort to fight Davy as of that point, so he probably had alot of confidence. It doesn't matter now anyway... I guess I just hate when I am shortchanged... as I have stated before, I'm not the best player, but I know when I have adequate forces to kick some butt vs anything.
Anyway... I know that there is no "Town of Davy", and if you look, there is a different number in the IPs of Davy and his buddy... at least some of them.
...and even if he did go door to door typing messages, I feel even more sorry for him. No hard feelings on my end Davy, at least not anymore. |

why not play a little more, well since i would really enjoy time at the "Town of Davy" i went ahead and got some directions for everyone, First you gonna want to hit the closest interstate towards Alabamer, home of davy, upon getting off near hicksville you want to take a right near the large oak tree and follow the dirt road about 4 more trees and 2 corn fields, passing the old 1934 ford on blocks. next you wanna take a left near the old fence, passing jimbobs and suzylo'anns house, you will see a sign that says "Welcome to the town or DAVY" carved into a rock with the population of 2, soon to be 8 or so to join Davy and his buddy that doesn't know him but still found a way to post at this report=) I hope to see you all their soon so we can play the bango in the band with davy and pack lots of chewing tabbacy=) oh i will also bring the FDA and DAF i hope to see you all their with your grandmothers and please bring some black eyes pea soup too, anyway enough of my poor humor

I finally tracked this report down because I was curious about the "Davy" quote. Glad to have found its source (and the source of a few more quotes too) at last. Did the grudge match ever take place? Does Davy still show his face on b.net? These are questions that will never be answered because I'm fairly sure nobody will ever read this post. And even if they do, I probably won't be back to read their response. :-P
