This is basicly what AoE or AoK should have been. AoE tried to do some sort of Civ real time but failed. AoE turned out to be a historic warcraft with the strategy element toned down hughly. This game on the otherhand, has hugh non-combat strategy element inside. This is a true Real Time Strategy game rather than Real Time Combat game.
As human, there are times when you can win by just totally out performing your opponent economicly and/or with good use of spies. Sure, the majority of the games still involved combat but don't expect a RTS in the traditional sense. If you play Fryhtans (the monster races) it is more combat orientated and it does feel more like the more traditional RTS. But the feel is still very different.
I am not sure it is better than SC. SC's strength is the combat of totally different 3 races but this game, although combat is competent, is really more strategy/resource management. (Eg. As human to build up an economy you actually have to mine resources then build factories, then trade the product in a market! But thats only money and you have to worry about having enough workers which you can't just build but have to pursude different villages to join you. I suppose it is what Blizzard want war3 to be.) Thus the game really shines in ffa. SC's ffa is nothing compare with the dynamic of ffa in this game. This game you can actually trade different reosurces with allies, bribe them, etc. Also the involment of spies in ffa make this so fun. Say I can pursuade player A to fight B and offer him money and food to do so. Since the chat is to A only, B doesn't know this. And I can ask B to fight A in chat only to him and offer money to him if he does that. So A and B get to fight while it only hurts your economy to keep them fighting. While they are busy you infiltrate spies to both of them. If done right, you can not only assasinate both their kings but can turn whole armies from their sides to yours. (You just have to make sure your spies become their general.) As you can see, the dynamic is hugh.
A question to Fizban, can spies infiltrate Fryhtans? If not, then it really sucks. Ok, now I got to go and learn more about the game. |

Rubber Ducky, took a look at that trainer.
Looks like it only works for singleplayer, gives unlimited gold, wood, and oil only. Did they disable the old command lines that would give you this type of cheat?
I haven't tried it over Bnet, but it says singleplayer at the top of the hack... |

i downloaded the demo and sound file, i thought the game sucked and wasn't good graphically at all and the sound, and gameplay was horrible. maybe i just didn't play enough of it...i dunno maybe ill give it another try and maybe ill find something that makes it a good game...
nice br ... since its a game a lot of ppl aren't familiar wiht, more pics might be nicer. |

| Yeah, graphic isn't so hot. But it's strength is the gameplay. And no, not combat per se. SC still rules in that area but think ancient/fantasy warfare where formation counts and how to build a strong economy to keep up your army. It is really more like a civilization and RTS crossover with a lot of fun in the Civ aspect. If you just like combat, stick with SC. |
