Generally, people who join ladder games that have melee records of 10-0 usually aren't that great. People who have lousy ladder records often start over and need to get those 10 wins so they do it the fastest possible way. People with good ladder records don't need to start over. :) |

| Don't put the mines so close to your units, put the mines about five squares ahead of your units so that the mines won't get pulled into your stuff. |

| Tried that, but then they didnt get good coverage over each other. 'Sides the game was in the bag once i beat off his initial defense so i could afford to lose some units. Anyway...I got a new BR i'm gonna write soon...3 pages of notes but I hit my limit on screen shots =( I only have 6...i took near 100 =( |

I don't like using mines alone against DTs, because you still can't see the bastards and if even one survives the minefiled you are up shit's creek. I only have one word for you.

Actually, and scv or two there to repair the tanks after they had taken damage would have been good too. Maybe one turret somewhere so your troops could have a place to run to if the mines ran out.
Then again you were facing a newbie...
Why can't I get a juicy newbie once in awhile, all I get are experts...

I think any two out of turrets, mines and comsat is good enough to cover dtemps. This wasn't a really exceptional game (though forge first is always good for a laugh). Also, setting up camp outside his base is a good idea if you can pull it off. Just keep tabs on when he's got shuttles and get some wraiths or gollies and contain, contain, contain. Discs are a bitch but you have to live with them.

Forge first... gah. I had an ally who did that in a 2v2 not too long ago. I'm trying to put together a base defense and tech to mutalisks, I look over at his base and all I see are pylons and cannons. Everywhere these little clumps of 1 pylon and 1 photon cannon. He hasn't even put them into any sort of defensive arrangement. He has one forge and no gateways. I'd call it turtling, except that turtles at least make it hard to get into their bases. I think the word for this strategy would be "brain-damaged-jellyfishing."
Okay, I'm done bitching now. I know everyone's had to deal with sucky partners in 2v2s, but this was exceptional even for that. |
