I'm glad everyone else liked it. It wasn't the closest game I've ever played by skill (YourHero was the best there), but who took away the victory was closest! I never actually thought I'd clear the board with twelve guardians =). |

Yeah, I've played in FFA's with YourHero before too.. and he's very good.. at least that's my observation from being on the business end of a hydra swarm from him in one FFA with defiler support. Ouch!

Star control fuxed up my comp =[
I went over to that site and bought it for 10 bucks cuz I'm so damn thrifty, and d/l it successfully. As soon as I run it, the logo comes up, then it minimizes back to windows. A lil' message says "This program will not run optimally under windows, would you like to run it under DOS?" Well of course I wanna run this thing optimally, so I click "Ok". Next thing I know the comp reboots in DOS, and freezes. I turn it off, then on again, and it freezes again. Luckily Gateway tech support rox, and they fixed it =P
so SC2 sux!

Doh :(. Too bad. Works great on my computer (except I have to live with the PC speaker for some reason - luckily it doesn't sound that bad, Star Control 2 uses it well). Did it give you options about what you wanted your startup options to be when Star Control 2 was run in DOS? It did for me, so only go with extended memory (not sure if it is necessary or not), I believe that is the only required element to play Star Control 2. And how did you computer get fixed - maybe that'll give a clue to what was wrong in the first place.

BTW, the DEMO works great on my computer, I haven't gotten the full version yet. I certainly hope the full version works when I get it.

| Pictures in one of my reports... heh. That'll be the day. And as this appears to now be Bob's tech support forum: perhaps you should go to DOS mode first then start up StarControl2. NotDefault is quite correct, besides the hard drive, the only device SC2 uses is the keyboard. |

I think the creators still get royalties from Star Control 2. So don't pirate it. If you like the game at all, buy it.

Ahh a good old fashioned text based ffa report, nice. I read the rather short but good The Art of War by Sun-Tzu that you suggested and found it very intresting. The commentaries were also very intresting and fun to read. Thatnks for suggesting I read it. By the way, are you planning on relasing and more Phoenix Legion Chapters at SCL any time soon?
