Great report! Pictures are NOT essential, although they add a certain zest (and about 1/2 and hour) to the reading time.
I always love the 10/9 expansion dbl hatch, although I tend to get rocked by the drops since I tend to forget my mineral defense at times! Sounded like a fun game, and a beautifully written report at the same time!

I can vouch for the accuracy of Fractal and Shock's communication. Those two realy have their act together. I can do so, cause I was there for this one! (Lakers was in the one on Dire, Fractal..) =p
No offense to Inadequate and SoundScientist, but compared to Fractal_Wave and Shock Wave, they're about as noisy as a vacant lot in the middle of the night in the center of a storm (calm in the center of the storm and all)
.. and these are the two who rushed Fractal's expansion with a combined force of 20 Zealots and 15 dragoons! - not something two non-talkers can do!
It's just that Shock and Fractal talk A WHOLE LOT...
I might still work on the BR that touches on TWO of these three 2v2s as Fractal's "decoy ghost" technique of nuking bears reporting.

no offense but, expanding early in a 2v2 on a fairly medium sized map (rushable) is suicide, unless playing in a mostly non-advanced level :|. I know that in like every nwtr game played, if one of the players early expands, they die. (or at least lose the xpo)

Thanks for reporting this, FW. I hate hate hate terran versus toss, let alone terran in a team game versus two toss. I was having fun with my cloaked wraiths against his corsairs until he started bringing over observors :-b, and then of course things got really messy. I think of the Toss player going corsairs had just gone dweb immediately, I would have been plastered.
Probe - on aftershock, I almost always see Zerg going 10/9. The unique thing about AS is that there really isn't much minerals in your bases - in fact, you feel this immediately because you can't build your 8th->depot as quickly, etc. The expansion really really pays off if you can protect it because on a map where there are few patches, the same # of peons distributed amongst two bases really gives you much better econ than one where those peons are colliding into the same mineral patches.
So I normally go for 10/9 hatch on AS. And since we were close together (I was 4, he was 5), it's easy for me to protect him. And against double Toss, it's *fairly* safe because once I wallin, I just have to worry about my partner.
Oh, one thing I HATE about Aftershock, despite how I play every game on that map now :-) : On some of the starts, you can't wallin. Particularly at the 2 o'clock, there are some extraneous terrain features that prevent you from building at your ramp. Argh.

This was a really fun game. Only thing I really messed up was templar (and the non-communication bit). Also, I didn't expand very early at all. I think I had ~10 goons before I sent my probe out. This was the best SoundScientist and I played out of the 3 games, so I'm glad this one made it up =)

| Have any of you ever played (4)Brushfire.scx ? Its in your BW/Webmaps directory. It is an awsome map. 4 mains, 4 island exps, then several smaller expansions in the center. Almost like rivalry but the island exps have no way to them but air, also it makes more use of high ground choke points and ramps. MUCH better than The Gay Temple or Rivalry even. And most of you probably HAVN'T played it so it will be a new experiance. |

Heh, I was supposed to br the last game??? Um... I took no pics though, and I can vaguely remember some of the details. Basically, it was ownage by Shock and Fractal once again. Inadequate made a lot of noise with his zea/sairs, but his partner couldn't get ne exp.
Not much else though. And unless inadequate and soundscientist had their ally chat off the obs, alita is right. Um, is there ne thing I missed? Oh yeah, Shock and Fractal's drops owned Inadequate and SoundScientist, and the reason that I will most likely not br that game. Sorry =-(

I have pics for mostly Game 2. A few only for Game 3 as both Fractal and Shock were dropping different opponents (as Sound Scientist and Inadequate were attacking different opponents)and I could only watch the action on one without losing touch of what was happening - let alone remember to take pics.
=p

| great writing Fractal. the lack of pictures did not hurt at all, cuz your writing was so good and flowed so well that I was easily able to follow the action. the pictures might have actually hurt the br, because they force the reader to look at them and break up your kickass writing. ya i know this sounds a lot of kissing ass and shit, but this is one of the few brs i've read that really have great writing |
