| hey, what was the ramble about hacks at the end? Diablo is a good game, but gets old. Starcraft is much better. Nice report though. |

| It wasnt bad,but some screenshots would have helped for a higher rating i think.As for Diable,i always liked the game,heh,i may have enjoyed it after the first couple of weeks if it wasnt for the hackers.oh well,nice reports again. |

There is actually a game called Hack. It's an ascii game that plays a lot like Diablo. Nethack is the most recent incarnation of it. I'm too lazy to fish up a URL, but if you do some searches on it, you should find it.
Oh yeah, the game is freeware, so feel free to download it. |

The best way to play diablo is to play with people you know. I'm just short of getting the dbl dots at lvl 26 (close to 27)
I'm a warrior w/ a awesome helm of the whale, and godly plate of the ages ^^ (Also a Kings sword of the Vampire and a Glorious shield of vim, I'm kicking ass ^^)

| btw - hell difficulty doesn't change monster hp, just increases the amount of immune monsters and increases the amount of monsters total. (tunza fun taking on 12 knights by yourself after your sorcerer partner just died =) |

OMG - ppl who know about Nethack! ahhhhhhhhh!!! :P Check out the newsgroup rec.games.roguelike.nethack if you want to ask questions. THe interface and graphics may be mass old-school, but you will NOT find a larger variety of items, armor, weapons, etc, not a more detailed and thoughoroly (sp) detailed game world :)

Fairly nice report, but perhaps a little light on details which would demonstrate why this is such a gosu escapade, especially for people who don't know the game.
Nethack is a very good game, and has a depth of gameplay that puts Diablo to shame (although Diablo clearly ripped a lot of concepts off of Nethack/Rogue/Moria.) You do have to be able to put up with a pretty steep learning curve and lousy (ascii) graphics to play Nethack though.
Rating 7 (I've played Diablo before so I could follow it).

That's just the thing. It's really not a Gosu escapade. Doing this with all cursed gear, that's a Gosu 3@30. Doing it with a near to dream setup, it's a little less than Gosu. Also, do you have any clue how many times I died doing this? And I made two newbie mistakes, one almost costing me my gear.
So it really only had a thrill of "first yiff". Other than that... |
