The only reason I wouldn't give this more than a six is simply the number of typos, misspellings, etc., that make it a little hard to read once in a while (what exactly it to "prepablue" anyway ;) ). That and the exaggerations (1000000 lings, for instance) which made it a little harder to follow troop counts. Otherwise it was well written and pretty easy to follow along with the action.
On another note, why didn't you use the defilers when you were using your lings to kill off his goons - just before he sent his last frontal assault at you? A few Dark Swarms and you could have had free reign until he either got a Storm or two off, or got his reaver and some zeals out.
Oh, yeah - I know that Temple is the map of choice for ladder, but occasionally ppl will use rivalry or winter conquest, so don't forget to put which map you were using (not that it was hard to figure out here :) ).

Syndrome Zed: Thanks for the feedback! Your right I should have said I started in Temple. Ya I try to put as many details in my reports as well. Since they are all text. So I should have said 45+ lings. Prepablue?!?!? Wow I guess I didn't proofread as much as I should have. A 7 would make my day. :D

Reasonably good game. I think previous commentators mentioned the rough spots, like the exagerated troop numbers. It's also nice to have a lightly better idea of what the other player is doing, although that's not really possible in a 1v1 when you're playing.

I actually like a lot of these first person battle reports. Kind of puts you inside the action. Plus, they're not hard to do because all you have to do is describe the strats you used and what you encountered when attacking your opponent.
Fox, I thought you did a great job describing the battle and keeping the flow of the game moving. The typos weren't too awfully bad. The only thing you lost me on was when I realized you had 6 expansions. You didn't really tell us when and where you expanded to after taking your mineral only.
It was a really good game though and a good read. I'm gonna go ahead and slap a big ol' 7 down on this sucker even though I'm tempted not to cuz you begged for it so much... ;-P

The only thing against this report was the well, lack of flow due to the writing. Other than that, I kind of like this report.
You know, I've come to the conclusion that temple really isn't overplayed. Everyone demands pictures for battle reports (and let us be honest here, the majority of battle reports are on temple it seems), and therefore, because of this fact, no one knows Lost Temple that much as everyone claims. Therefore, it is hard to visualize a drop on the 12:00 main, a drop on an island, or a turbo newbie at an expansion, simply because you don't see it that often. I mean, it's not like this was BGH, where the only strat you see is the cannon/bunker/sunken wall-in to mass air build order. (/sarcasm)

Whee, fun game. Just a few things the toss player could do...
First of all, he had a good build. 2 gate to templar is good.
When he got his robo facility, he should've immediately made shuttles and took BOTH of the islands, because they are easy to defend against zerg, with a templar and some cannons. Also, he should work on get one more exp. (totaling about 4 exp.s in all), and he should keep making shuttles, with the occasional reaver, and of course, zealots, dark templar, dragoons, and templar. a simple 6 dtemp, 2 hightemp drop will destroy zerg exp.s very easily, and it could easily give the protoss more exps than the zerg. Then its easy :) |
