Hmmmm.... u missed a couple things.
first off corbalt = bill the probe, and he is by far a better player than I am, I simply got lucky.... oh and that whole imbalance thing too :o)
He also psi raided my natural,I lost about 15 drones on that
and as far as I can tell by my unit count I think I had about 20 drones on my main before his psi raid, and 2 left after it. :o| Those psi raids almost won him the game, good thing 5 hatches replace drones fast :o)
Besides that.... 8! goooood report! U didn't mock me enough tho..... Mocking slings is cooool :o) Wuv u Dialtoooooone! |

Highly nice.
Just a thought, but why do protoss even try to harras a zerg's natural expansion? You know that they're going to do it, so wouldn't it be wiser to hop to a reaver drop or expand yourself?
Bearing in mind that I don't play protoss, so I could be really, really, wrong.
All the best,

Thx for ruining my pathetic attempt at smurfing, slings :(.
Oh well its ok no big deal, gw dial cool br. I love reading about myself =]. btw don't listen to slings he >>> me arg i shoulda defended my expos, i lost two of them while they were naked to only a couple of guys.
One very cool note that game, or at least so i thought, was that slings was mined out at his main and nat with only about 18 or so hydras and 100 minerals at the end of the game. So it was kind of a close game, but i'm sure if slings wasn't sick he woulda owned me harder ^^.
btw fractal, i think its a good idea to pressure the zerg exp even though they know its coming, merely because you have to force the zerg into making lings and sunkens rather than powering drones, and eventually runing you over with hydras. If i didnt atttack he could just saturate his main and nat with drones until he can go 6 hatch hydra and run me over. I'm not sure though, i'm not a very good player in theorycraft or the actual game. Basically i just do it cause everyone else does :/. |

sorry Corbalt :o( I didn't realize it was a hidden smurph.... :o(
I think that you woulda have faired better if you hadn't pressured as much with the zealots. Next time, let me see them - If I'm going to react with sunkens/lings then I'll do it on sight, not at the time of the attack. This way you amass zealots, have extra $ to expand, and can contain me.
As u might have noticed, 3 sunkens, and the 18 lings that I used to stop your attacks don't set me back hugely in my powering.... while you zealots cost 100 a piece, 4 of them = an expand..... sooo..... I dunno I'm an idiot, but that's what I think of it. |

Slings is right, don't let your troops get killed needlessly. Containment is key. Make sure the army he sees is not the threat to him, though. I personally enjoy goon containment while building a 2 reaver/4-8 zeal drop. If the goons keep building they'll take out the base when he goes to fix the drop. Just make sure the gay goons don't dance.

Very good report, and the strategy comments are interesting too. I'd still like to request a little variety in maps, though. It seems like ninety percent of the reports I read these days start off: "A Zerg was playing a Protoss on Lost Temple. The Zerg early expanded while the Protoss built double gateway zealots. The Protoss attacked with the zealots and the Zerg defended with lings and sunkens."
I'm not knocking this strategy, but it is sort of specific to LT. How about island maps? How about big maps where you can't rely on finding your opponent right away? How about maps where the natural can't block off the main, so early expand means having to split your defense between two bases?
This isn't intended as an attack on this BR, which was very good and a credit to the site. It's just a general request for players and reporters to try a different map now and then...

| I tend to constantly attack the zerg expansion, using zealot/probe micro to keep from losing any, and expand while i'm doing that, sometimes you can just win by having 6 gateways while they haven't gotten their expansion up and make unupgraded zealots. |

Quick BR. But good job, I loved the backround. Slings that game we played earlier today, I had 5000 in the bank. Last time we played you owned me with drops. Next time I use that 5000 to make 100 cannons at each expo. 7 cannons 2 templar > drop ;)
BTW Great Report!

Good BR. I liked the border and the fade-away on the images. Nothing new, I guess, but I still think it's exceptionally pretty to look at. Besides that, Slings winning a game is base 70% gold, and your excellent execution makes me want to give this an 80%. Damn, should I abort % system, I seem to only be giving out round numbers now...
BTW, put it through a spell checker, I also had a hard time reading through it.

umm ownage!
and damn it, i dont care what you say, TOSS OWNS ZERG just early expand + couple of cannons/zeals/goons on ramp, get 9 gate ways, power like a mother fucker, run him over with mass goons/zealots melting anything that moves with your 12 ht.... damn it! it works so fu
i truly believe that early toss expand is they key to winning zvp... mostly because a zergloses much of its advantage from having doubled income, and becuz (or so it seems to me) that since zeal/probe or zeal/cannon/probe or whatever, owns zings so damn hard, that all a zerg can do is tech to hydras or something, the main reason the zerg can defend the early expand is cause it mutates (look i get gosu 10 pts for saying mutate instead of build!) sunken colonies which absorb damage and yadda yadda.. so umm... screw you. temps just own zerg damn hard, they abuse muts, hydras and guards. and as long as you have plenty of goons and a few zeals, you wont lose! hahahah i own p > z damn you all |

Great br! As always, wonderful graphics skills . . . but the game was a little lacking. Here's an idea: br an epic next time. With your graphics skills, and good writing, it should get you a 9+.
I liked this tho, I'd slap on the ol' 7.5-8. |
| #45 Dausuul[68045] |
| lucre.tcom.purdue.edu |
Mass zerglings/hydras own mass goons/zealots. I'll admit that templar and reavers swing the balance the other way, but a few ultralisks will take care of that, especially with upgrades. If you have the micro for it, you can also use broodlings to take out the templar, and mutalisks are excellent at halting the reaver threat.
IMHO, Zerg have the edge over Protoss on ground maps. Island maps are rough, though. Damn corsair/reaver...
