| Things I did while this loaded. Made a sandwich, watched a football game, took a shower, ordered CD's from columbia records, traveled to asia, lost to gosu korean in starcraft, came back to usa, went to europe, backpacked to europe, played gosu german player, traveled to russia, played red alert 2, got kicked out of russia, came back to usa, ate another sandwich, ordered pasta from italy, pasta arrives, had pasta, went to cuba.....................................claimed the planet pluto for usa and then i read your report. A good one and nice pics. Your creative doodles are a little funny but you need to become more cynical. A good report and should get a good rating. Now if you'll excuse me I my CD's from columbia records have arrived. |

Not bad, you picked what seemed like a nice game to BR, and the pictures were ok. Also, try to use HTML font tags to higlight players names: <pre><font color="yellow">(TYC)Khas'andro</font></pre> would look like this:

It makes it easier to follow the game. Also, try to include a few more pics. I know you've been bitched to about having uneccessary pics, as have I, but the ones that loaded for me were good ^^.
I'd say 6-7, although I'm just an idiot. Look to Sid6.9 for a good criticism. |

Good report. Nice detail. Good screenshots.
I thought the F&I war interlude/parallel thingie was a good idea, but it interupted the continuity of the report. Perhaps put such facts in a small table with the text wrapped around it, kind of like a side note.
You're on the right track though I would suggest working on putting a bit more flair in your writing and looking for something to report other than a 1v1 on temple... :)

The Good-
Decent intro, although I don't like the idea that there is a web site where CD Key numbers are posted. I hope they are keys from people that don't play anymore and just offered them to that site.
Writing very detailed and it seems you were very into this game, and never took your eyes from it.
Pic Quality was decent, with blood and body fluids littering the ground, gots to love that. :)
No real need for tons of pics as your words described the actions to the letter.
Good game, neither player surrendered, and the action was non-stop. Although the Terran was mostly on the defensive, he did get off a nuke. Me likes it when nukes are used.
The Bad-
Could have used a few more destruction pics. It didn't hurt your report because of it. But a few added would have enhanced it even more.
Try using color for the players names like Khas said. It really enhances the report. See his example, or look in the Guides under HTML for the appropriate code. It doesn't take long either to add that in, like 5-10 minutes of work that could garner you another half-point in the rating.
The Ugly-
Dref said it best about the charecture speech bubbles in the screen shots, so no sense in beating a dead horse. Look for Paint Shop Pro and download the free version, they have some bubbles you can automatically insert.
Report Card Reads-
Writing- B+ (Color coding the players names would have raised this.)
Pic Quality- B (Those bubbles took away from it.)
Pic Selection- B+ (Good selection, but I would have liked to see a few more.)
HTML Usage- N/A
Entertainment- A- (Despite all the above, the game was rightous and I didn't know who was going to win, although I did have an idea.)
Overall- B+
Personal Comments- You've come a long way Overmind from your first report. Your writing is very good, and now you just need a little work on your pics, and start to venture into the land of HTML and Alt-Text (But don't let it take away from your writing). I think a 7 rating is fair for this report. |

as a last comment before i set off on starting my next br, (which will appear on either friday night or saturday morning) i would like to make a couple of comments.
A) I would like to thank sid6.9 for all the help he has given us newbies to br land.

pretty good report =). Personally, i didn't like the writing too much. I thought it was a little to detailed, and slowed the game a bit. But that was just the begining, the end writing i enjoyed alot =).

Oh BTW, I just realized I keep failing to mention this, but the usage of history of battles past is really cool. Especially when it goes with the strategy the players are about to employ. Keep that up, me likes history.

| Nice br. I have always been taught that the French had 4200 men though. And they weren't arrogant, they realised at the last second that the British were making a landing further down the saint lawrent and sent out that force to try to prevent them from landing. Not bad at all Overmind... tyhe only suggestion I have is to perhaps.. try to be more creative with the screan shots.. some techniques to try would be:
1) bubbles.
2) collages.
3) before and after battle scenes.
aside from that, keep up the good work. I think that you are slowly climbing up the BR ladder. =) |
