Nice br! I really enjoyed this.

That snowstorm missed my town a bit too, but as I live in Canada it is even more deathly cold here, and we <i> did </i> get about 6 inches ourselves =/

Poor Buffalo!

Some very nice screenshots here . . . you're improving, and I like your style =D

8-8.5 in my judgement

<i><b>Lady</b>paladin constructs a dragoon and 2 more zealots, bringing <b>his</b> total zealot...</i>

:P

nice report... could have gone without the pre game summary "So and so builds a supply depot, while so and so makes an assimilator", just give a rough idea of what everyones going for. Early game in ffa's isn't that important to report. GJ tho, i loved the rest how u described who attacked who, i was wondering why paladin was so weak :[

7-8 in my book

oh ya, get a better paint program, borders are nice to gawk at

I'm right here Khas, now quite you. First though I'd like to throw Overmind a hearty "Happy Thanksgiving", and now, let's dive into his report with a Good, Bad, and Ugly.

The Good-

The intro was good, gave my comp time to download all the pretty pics.

Great writing for a FFA. These are about the hardest reports to write. It's hard to keep up with the action, and it's easy to lose readers, but you didn't do either, you told the action and kept me with you all the way through it.

Pic Quality was nice, plenty of death scenes.

Good job with using colors for the players names, I told you that it would enhance your report. :)

The Bad-

Everyone covered everything that I think can be improved with some quick fixes. Here's my rundown.
-Use a different color for background, it will really bring the players names out and in focus.
-Borders on pics.
-A few battle scene pics would really enhance the death scene screens you had. Kinda a pre-battle screen, then post-battle screen.

One last thing, beware of losing the reader by switching tenses from past to present to future.

The Ugly-

Nothing.

Report Card Reads-
Writing- A-
Pic Quality- A- (Borders or background color would enhance this.)
Pic Selection- B+ (A few pre battle scenes with post afterwards would really work well.)
HTML Usage- B (All that it needed was a background, the yellow hurt this report, but on a black background would enhance it.)
Entertainment- B+
Overall- B+

Personal Comments- You've defenintly came a long way Overmind. You stayed within your means, and didn't try a bunch of stuff all at once, that's good, cause you'll learn easier by adding things as you go along. I'll get you the code to change the background and you can add that in your next report. Keep it up, I enjoy your work immensely.

Nice job, my only criticism (that others havent covered yet) is that you should find a better way of making the cartoon bubbles... Download a demo version of Paint Shop Pro and use that, it makes it look MUCH better.

And btw, Sid6.9, I want comments on MY report ;) I feel so left out... :P

I have one problem. I might be mistaken, but on one of the late pics when the zerg's base is being attacked, I see a message from you that says, "Blue is weak for attack." or something similar to that. It sounds as if you are directing everybody or one specific player to take advantage of something that they don't know about. As an observer, you don't want to say or do anything that might influence the actions of the players involved. This is "bad manner" on your part. Other than that, not bad.

Good BR overmind. =)

Aside from the minor details that the other people mentioned along the lines of color and such, I agree with you when you say that this is your best br so far. One thing however, I am not a "he, him, or even a his" =P

I completetly felt as if I was lagginb behind on everyone in that game after the zerg player ransacked my main's economy. but oh well.. lesson learned on my part I suppose. Only thing I had for defense was High Templars with Storm. But apparently that wasn't enough. lol. A couple of corrections though...

The 4 shuttles that went towoards lucky's south-eastern islan expansion... 2 were illusions, and 2 were real. In them... was a pimp squad of 1 reaver, 1 dragoon, 2 high templar, one dark templar and one probe. they were unfortunatly, all shot down before they were able to unload.

my goal was to try to overtake the island, and establish an expansion right away. Its strange, but I always thought that illusions drew enemy fire away from the real thing. in other words, the AI would go for illusions first, then the the real thing. If anyone has any feedback or info on this, please post it here.

One thing that I think you forgot to mention, and which to me was the best thing I did in the game, was that the lone Dark templar that I had in the center of the map came in and took out 17 zerglings after my dragoon attack. I always knew that Dragoons had problems dealing with zerglings, but it became very clear just how much after my dragoons were ripped apart like a child would open up a christmas present.

pretty decent report overmind. I'd give a 7.8 cuz at least you have pictures and are showing a good improvement.

Lady Paladin I think the AI shoots at the first thing that comes within its firing perimeter. so if u want the illusions to take the fire then send them in a split second before the real shuttles. what I do when I make illusions is make the illusions one control group and the real units another control group. then I send in the illusions shortly followed by the real group. However, I'm no pro so no one flame me if you think my idea blows donkey cock.

while I pride myself for details, it is virtually impossible to include EVERYTHING in a br. Thanks for the advice though paladin. Also remember that I depend on screenshots to remember stufff, not my own recollection, so please don't critisize me for my failure to know stuff that was loaded into your 4 shuttles

Ok... decent.

I'll admit, FFA's are tough to report. Nothing is coordinated, leading to "concurrant chaos," something really tough to cover carefully.

You got the action down well, all of the battles were pretty well covered. Exact counts of fighting forces are usually unneccesary after early-game rushes. What pics there were illustrated the battles pretty well. Nice shot of the psi-storm drop counter, and the marine slaughter outside bastardson's choke.

The early game does not need to constitute half of the report, especially in FFA's. They're all about action. I applaud your note-taking abilities, but it read just like dref said: slow and dry.

Yellow text on white background simply looks bad.

Killians noticed something I did. During the repeated attacks on Unvytae, your pic shows you announcing in all-caps that blue was vulnerable. When he pointed that out, your response was that this message was to the other observing player. Unfortunately, your early screenshot of the Alliance menu shows no such observing player. If this was announced during the game to the players, which I suspect it was, then I'm lost for words. Not really, here I am typing, but you get the idea. That's one of the lowest things you can do as an observer. Don't interfere with the game, don't talk incessantly, and above all else, do not announce vital information about one of the players on caps-lock. Nothing personal, but after reading this, I would certainly think twice about letting you observe any game of mine.

I agree with a lot of what has been said above, especially dref's comments. Normally I don't comment about ratings and my personal opinion thereof, but in this case I'm afraid I have to say I would have trouble calling this a 7.

That being said, and I think I just said a lot of pretty harsh-sounding stuff, don't get discouraged in any way. The only way to get better at these reports is to do them. If you enjoy writing them, keep it up. Your record-keeping skill is pretty impressive and could be your strength for a while. Stick with it.
