I think blinkmans idea for muta's to be the scouts was not that badly concieved. This would allow your scouts greater flexibility and later, when you and your teammates go for the attack, you can aid them, for the need for recon would be low then. The idea of a Bureaucracy in mho is great. If you could make it such that all parts of the Bureaucracy came together at the appropriat time then that would be great. An example would be a terran building tanks and turrents for defense, a protoss building all Zealots/goons for offense, and zerg doing the mutas for recon, and when the time for attack came, they could all come together. Well, thats just my idea =P

Funny stuff, put together well, good job.

I always try to do stuff like this when i play shared base and nobody ever goes for it.

In general, I like the idea. Try playing Team Melee, it was made for a division of labor. I usually divide it thusly:

Two people: One produces, one fights
Three people: One gathers and produces, one fights, one scouts early, then takes over production
Four people: Never done it, but probably two producing different races, two fighting and scouting.

Ideally, you would have three Bureaus: one to bring in the money, one to spend it, one to use the units produced. It's easier to spend all your money this way, and not end up with 5,000 minerals in the middle of the game.

Interesting premise... too bad it would normally never work in an Internet game.

Besides the frequent drops that would destroy a "bureau," convincing the recon. person to just build scouting units would fail, and likely, scouting should also help with offense.

Finally, someone who DESERVES a comparison to Drefsab, my role model. I don't read these things for strategies or whatever, I read them for laughs. We need more like this!

This IS a strategy, even if it was also for laughs. Deserves a solid 7-9, but just kinda lacked that SOMETHING to give it a 10, I dunno. Good shiznit though.

Peace,

Light and enjoyable to read... I thought it was an interesting change of pace. Now see if you can get a game where the division of labour results in a victory.

Cheers.

I'd like to see that happen but on a reg. map like LT or something. (Wouldnt work thou since bases are seperated) LOL, Good Job at getting the free win at the end. Good Diplomacy.

Ummmmm... Ya got the win and the report looked nice and everything, BUT oh my word that is gay!!!

Does the word multi-tasking come to mind? It better cause that is what makes the game, not some single-tasking BS. I hope this report was a joke and not serious cause if it was serious. I pitty you.

This was a nice bit of humor. Bureaucracy is always good for a few chuckles. Also, few things are potentially funnier than a pacifistic Starcraft player.

I think defense screwed up by making goons and zealots. When the choked was cannoned, that should have effectively eliminated any ground attack. Afterall, only so many attackers can get to the choke. A better defense would have been make scouts, carriers and archons. 6-8 carriers and a couple of Archons should hold that choke against any ground attack. This also had the added value of range to cover that successful nuke. The rest of the units should have been sairs and scouts (heavy on the scouts) to negate air attacks.

Also since his job was to cannon up the place, 3 o 4 rows of cannons when possible would negate any attack not covered by sairs.

Dude i really hope that you dont normally play "shared bases" cause that is the gayest map ever. I also think that you are a dumbass (if you were serious) for going mass ovies and also for allying at end, i never ask people to have pity on me i think it is dishonorable. But if you werent serious then it was funny as hell

yes a very funny report.. it made for good reading at work this lazy friday afternoon.. hehe
Visor{Fire} I also think that you are a dumbass (if you were serious) for believing that this guy actually took the game seroiusly.....
when I am do something stupid i never ask people to have pity on me i think it is dishonorable.....

No, this wasn't a serious report. About the part about allying at the end, I was thoroughly expecting them to start throwing insults when I asked for an ally and planned to post those. However, much to my surprise they actually agreed. Things didn't go exactly as I planned, but it still worked out well.
#29 BADKITTY![95961]

It was funny, but it would have been a lot funnier if it was clear from the beginning that it was ok to be laughing... The presentation made it look like you thought this strategy was a good one that could possibly work.

If you present it like that, then people will subconciously look for flaws in the strategie, because everyone likes a good "I'm right and you're wrong". It detracts from their enjoyment to be thinking about flaws the whole time with a strategy that was flawed intentionally for the humor aspect.

After the report I was left wondering, as many other people who commented were, weather it was a great humor report or a funny mistake. If I'd known up front, then I could have spent my time laughing instead of wondering ;)

Apon reading this report I thought it sounded to good to be true, so i put it to the test.
My allies seemed more then willing to accept there jobs that i assigned, suprisingly. My mass science vessles scouted and told Mr. Offense where to attack, and Mr. Defense where to defend. It worked out pretty good after the Declarations of War it wasnt long before goverment steamrolled through the other teams base, but then we fell apart about a cease fire as our bureaus started to get mad at each other, but in the end we united and the line was drawn and a cease fire was give to the last remaining adversary after his 2 commrades had been slain.

I suggest that every one try this maybe we can get it to be popular or something, pubs are that stupid :)

lmfao... that was hilarious.. not a bad idea, but not really possible in starcraft, muchless shared bases... the whole ally thing at the end was the funniest "any expert will tell you scouting is an essential part of the game" "no its not"
ROFL!!
nice job

what to say... uhmmm

interesting idea, if taken seriously
But I would like the scouting person to deal with the magic as well, when time give opportunity. The defence person should have unit defence as first priority. Later cannons and such.

when you meet three ppl and everyone is going for attack units you will be in a very bad situation if one person only have OL's.

if taken seriously
