Ok read it now, i really like the first person thingy, i think i will do that myself on my next br. Reaver and goon is a damn good strat vs zerg (imo), but its kinda hard when your enemy has twice your income :P Anyways, hydra/lurkers geta owned by goon/reaver, and so does ling/muta.
I find it kinda odd that Inkmeister didn't rush, i mean he obviously saw your very early tech, building core before any zeals, he could have easily overun you with 12 lings while u only had a single goon blocking the ramp. 12 lings>1 goon btw.

Pure and unbridled suavage. I've used goon/reaver with varied results myself, and it's funny that I always feel like I'm totally kicking my opponent's ass... When in actuality I'm usually not. Anyway, decent game, good writing, good pics.

nice report, goon/reaver is a very versatile strat vs zerg. the only thing you gotta watch out for is for an early ling rush while you're teching. i've only tried the strat a few times, and all of them except one i lost to a ling rush, i mean a really early one, but that's probably cuz i suck :(

Good report! I liked the whole idea of reporting an attempt to pull off a strat. (My main problem with going dragoon reaver, I end up with something like 50 minerals and 1231512412 gas, what the hell? >< I usually have to switch to get some templar tech.)
Mutalings though is the ideal counter for dragoon/reaver, usually the mutas suicide to kill the reavers and the lings mop up goons after the reavers are gone. Anywayz, IMO, Ink didn't rush is because you guys were 9/6. Powering is much less of a risk in that kinda spot.
Also, my typical reaver/goon is 1 robo, 5 gates (usually I claim an expo and be able to power 6 gates but I have to soak up money for scarabs and cannons for def vs. the inevtiable muta raids) |
