Thanks.
The game is going strong. Although the players are quite fragmented. There are two ways to find a game... using the in-game browser or using zone.com. And i think the servers for either method are different, so one wouldn't see the players on both servers.
There's alot of game types as well and tons more in server settings (and restrictions). And the expansion pack is not compatible with the original game. This IMO fragments the players too much.
But i hope all of these changes in the upcoming 2 expansion packs. |

I liked this br, but why was the entire screen blue?
The descriptions were good, but the info in columns was harder to read. In many of the pictures it was difficult to determine who was who.
Finding all the alt-text was challenging too. The alt-text in the beginning and middle was good, but it started to seem forced as the end approached (usually happens to everyone).
Also, its easier to compare the load out data if it's all readily visible instead of concealed in alt-text.
Hmm, I d/l this report 5 hours ago with 2 comments up and now there are only 4.
I'd say 9 for the difference between conventional reports, but the blue background, small pics (sometimes unclear), and kinda forced alt-text at the end makes me say 8.5 |

| Nice battle, however th battle coudl have been made easier for team 2 had kassos , targeted the missle luncher, the luncher has poor armour making it easy to detroy, end threat of attack |

#5 i think the blue background is a side effect of using a Stylesheet.
Yah i guess i forced the alt+texts, i can't think of something out of the picture :)
About the loadout as texts and not in the alt+text, i'll do that the next time i find a good game to report.
And i'll make the zoom level in game while taking pictures larger too. I zoomed out coz i'd like to know what the others are doing as well at a specific time, instead of noting them.
I guess i have to zoom in and zoom out to make it better.
#6 I guess Kaaos was afraid at first that the LRM boat might concentrate on him (and outranges him). I think he just cooled off for more than a minute there just so the other team could forget about him. *i think* |

| the bg was prolly blue cuz mark4 allowed people to put body tags in their reports. Thats just a guess. Err I have no clue what mech warrior or whatever this game was, so it would've been good if you explained it seeing as how the games reported here are mostly blizzard or strifeshadow games. Other than that it looks nice. |

This was very nice, I liked the layout and design. What's up with the entire screen being blue, though? This is one of those games I wish I played so I could understand it better. Gold worthy, no doubt. |

Reading this BR was interesting for me. Not because of the BR itself, but because I used to play in SL in MW3 and MW4. As far as the style of your writing goes, I thought you should have explained what the weapons were to those who hadn't played. "CGR" even took me a few minutes to figure out. ERL (Extra Range Large laser) and UAC20 (Ultra Auto Cannon 20) was common, but I never saw CGR in my years of play.
You also should have listed the weapon load outs and Mech names at the beginning.
A comment towards the end when you started talking about hitting and missing, people miss because they panic. Lag gets in there too but when you are hurt and trying to reduce the next volley you rush and make mistakes. Granted in MW3 we had to lag shoot, in MW4 they greatly reduced the lead required to lag shoot. Maybe you were adding suspense; maybe you had too much faith in their skills and control (nothing against the players of course) |

The blue team had a stronger plan than the red. If I had played it I would have used a mech a little heavier than the Scat (Shadow Cat), but then in MW3 I always favored the Bushwacker anyway. Maybe they couldn't get the loadout (or jump jets) they wanted on a 50 or 55 ton mech. Reading this it seemed the Scat's initial goal was a decoy, where if it had been slightly heavier it could have been a stiffer opponent. But then, if this was a league game (which I doubt from the names) then there might have been weight restrictions.

There's not much to complain about. The action was captured and relayed to the reader well. Your analysis was helpful and didn't disrupt the report flow. I'd recommend increasing the size of the images by at least 125% of the size used to help us appreciate the action more. Other than the image size, though, I liked the report layout.
The writing itself was dry in places, which is why I'm struggling with rating this. I've finally decided on a 9, though. Exceptional job.

CHJ, you are right, there isn't much to complain about. My comments were either stylistic or from my experience with the game. I do agree the that the images could have been larger, but if you noticed I'm not used to 1000 character limits. But overall, good.

Ok tnx for the feedbacks.
I'll take note of the ones you guys don't like (ie. small pics, blue color, small columns, etc...).

Frosty sorry if i trusted the abilities of the players too much (or too little)... its just that the coincidence that made me think that the "leave lag" was the culprit. I should have said that they could have either rushed their shot too (which i'll do later)
Actually another reason i made this report is to make a chain reaction going for the MW4 community. An additional pass time for the players is always a welcome.

][amaraw: don't get me wrong, overall I thought it was good and it's nice to see stuff on here that isn't star craft (no offense to the thousands of loyal SC players).
Maybe an idea for a future battle report on MW4 would be a large scale battle, maybe a league game with a planet on the line (if SL ever got around to implementing that, I know they talked about it for 3 years saying it was right around the corner but I never saw anything).

In fact i was very glad that a knowledgeable MW player gave comments.
I'll ask the league organizers if i could take screen shots of the league games... you just gave me a good idea. Tnx man. |

I think MW4 is my favourite gametype for brs ;). This was extremely uncovential though and the writing was a bit stiff so, while excellent this was therefore difficult to rate as CHJ said. I feel that an action game like MW or FS should have as its focus the ( hopefully ) exciting and dynamic text rather than images, since images are bound to capture only a split second of action, rather than outline the entire battle as in an RTS game like SC.
However, I'm going with a 9. Originality rocks. |

| btw, on a visually gorgeous game like MW4 it IS a good idea to include larger pics. Also, an explanation of the various loadouts and weaponry for people not acquainted with a non-SC game is always helpful. |

I don't smurf during MW games Frosty, so u can find me as Tamaraw. Heheheh, unlike in SC:BW wherein i got gazillion smurf names... coz good players keep avoiding me when they see my abysmal stats :D

Dagomar, about the writing and jokes, yes i'm not good at it. But i did try my best to convey what's going on, in terms of my game experience. And yes, bigger pictures and more texts. 8)

Although i wish more MW fans do the same (and i know there are alot of creative and better MW players out there). If not, i guess good players / clans really don't like to share game secrets.
IMO, one of the many reasons SC:BW became so ever popular is because players were open about their tactics / strategies / build orders / tips.
This in turn created an almost endless number of counters. And these updated every player, thus keeping the game fresh and evolve at the same time.
In MW world, good players are very secretive (compared to SC:BW community)... heck even good mech loadouts aren't given freely (while good SC:BW players take time to make a step by step illustration of good build orders... with detailed strengths and weaknesses and is subjected to TONS of feedbacks). Oh well, just my observation. |

| dhcp078035.res-hall.northwestern.edu |
I can think of some guesses why that is. In MW, the difference between an ok mech design and a good one could be huge. I remember in MW3 running around with 6 ERS and doing ok, and I remember other designs on the same chasis with as many as 16 (although 14 was a good, painful number). And that was just laser mechs. When you got to missile boats and gun boats, those things were closely guarded as a tweek here and there made a massive difference as far as cooling, ammo, speed, and knock down ability.

Ok, so good players hide their "tweaks".
I do copy most of 'em as i encounter them in battle... but only the weapon's loadout and some assumptions on armour and speed settings. |

| Something that I have been thinking about doing in my own reports would have worked out really well in this one. Link your images to screenshots that are unmodified. Some of your images would work better if they could be seen in greater detail, however this would detract from the flow..since you established this theme it would be good to find some way to make the images more explorable, this lets you do that. |
