I would offer sympathy, except that all of us who play public have gone through this 78092759238 times already.

Here is how I start every game with a pick up partner or a longtime kick ass partner.

1) Build Worker.
2) Assign the 4 starting workers to different mineral patches.
3) Hot key my (Hive, Nexus CC) to 1
4) Ally up and share vison.
5) Set Ally Chat.
6) Message to all Allies ..."Ally Chat".

Make it a habit.
