I played a Quick Match vs. another opponent (I was 0/0 at the time while he was 135/40 which according to the screen were discs). He got the GLA, boxed me off from the islands(?), and just had me contained until he pushed into my base.
The games on this map are over so quickly if you lose control of the outlying resources nodes; there's almost no point in continuing if you see your opponent has already secured them. |

Some_God its my duty as a canadien citizen to praise that in story report you added. Its little touches like that that make a good report great. I'v only seen it done a few times on the site and its clearly underused.
One thing keeps ticking me off though every time i read a Generals report. It seems every game invovles mass veicles armies and almost no infantry. I think the hearth of every RTS game is mass mass mass infantry rushes. |

You shouldn't have posted after Slothams, his report had just about everything one could expect. :[
As far as trying to blend in the two writing styles, it takes a really good author to do something like that and pull it off nicely. Instead of gracefully mixing two storylines together into a dramatic tale, you tripped over yourself and came across with all the finesse of a three-legged elephant on iceskates. I can't suggest how you improve this, except maybe read better books and try and copy their style.
The action was covered, but any chance to show off a unique coverage style was blown. Basically it consisted of "he attacked and I beat it and patched up my army." I was puzzled at how you won this. He had air superiority, was outproducing you in tanks, and was basically forcing you to fight in front of your base. Then every once and a while some italicized text breaks in with something from a completely different view than the last italicized text...

As for the pictures, add some mini maps... they are incredibly hard to follow when all you see is the odd shot of a tank here and there... very good, detailed, and flowing writing can make up for this, but I don't think you are capable of it yet. At least they were numbered, which is an improvement.

Good report. I didn't like the whole 'story' setting, as I personally prefer a straight battle report, but it was good. Roger Mudd must be, what? 160?! I could see him on futurama...

American air power > all. Fuel air bombs are god. Pics were big and purty, but I hate pics that bounce from one section to the other, requiring numbers to sort them out. Grammar and writing could still use a little more flow, but all in all, a good report. Solid 8. |

Personally, I never tried the game, but now it looks so good I think I might. Now onto your report....
It was actually really well written, you incorporated the visuals into it well. However, I really don't think that making it 1/2 story 1/2 report is really good. It disrupts the flow.
Overall, excellent!

Right then, first of all I found one thing confusing. In your history thing (which starts out okay) it's a battle between iraqi troops and US ones. It took me a few paragraphs before I noticed the actual battle was between two american forces.
Rest of your history thing blows. Paladin Green Leader hurling crappy movie lines around isn't particularly amusing :/
Pics. I seriously can't see shit on them. What you need is bigger pics, and fewer of them. This means no more than 4/5 in every collage max. Showing two humvees shooting in this petite piece of graphics isn't particular great.

I just looked at the pictures. I'm guessing its good, but i can't really tell. Good job on the pics though. Some of the collage designs were neat. Still, C&C isn't something I would buy. Then again, I did buy Impossible Creatures, which blowed so much cock. Make 2 reports a day if you can ;]. Good luck on your future reports.
