Yeah, a minimap (it wasn't Temple, yay) would have been nice. But the text was pretty good, if not very strategically deep. At the least you could have questioned the decision to go with BC's...

I enjoyed it. Personally, I hate tvt. But cruisers are never a problem. I like to use ghosts in tvp or tvt, but I suppose just plain overwhelming numbers of gols will work if they can't micro the capital ships.
I'm not much on ratings, so I'll just say I thought it was easy to follow and pretty well-written. |

And like I said, no html or images because I had just made it for the Battle.net forums (which doesn't allow either) and I simply pasted it here (it was like 3 am). If I do another, I'll probably dress it up more, but I was mostly just looking for feedback on the writing itself, how could I improve, etc.

And .Praetor, though I could've cleared it up, I thought it was obvious why he went BCs, he was far behind in ground units, and had a lot of resources building up, BCs would be his only real way to get ahead. Unfortunately for him, I saw them a little early on, and was able to react by pumping out those Goliaths. ;-) |

As for your writing style, it was good to build on. Your play-by-play was good, so that we understood basically what was going on. A bit of character and a lot more strategy, reasons you went for certain things would also be good.
Better than advice, read some of ~CattleBruiser~'s, Mark4's, YRM's or Johnny's work.
CB reportnum=32 is a good simple one. reportnum=1876 is more complicated, shows the evolution of style. |

Heh. That's a bunch of history, with early reports and reports from this site in its prime. Keep in mind all those - and even monsters like the 3-way FFA series - were made without the benefit of replays.
Also keep in mind that rating standards were loose and easy to start out with, got #(*$#(*& insane during the heyday of this site, until we're back to golds being pretty damn easy again. And raters are never consistent. Never :). |

But for god sakes. The last ten reports that had good to great writing were text only's. I like to see some pictures. If you want me to be your fan, woo me with some pictures too.

Well sorry for the lack of pictures. Like I said, this was made for B.net forums sort've as something to kill a little time, I was mostly just looking for feedback on the report itself. Sure, don't get me wrong, I realize pictures are always nice, but true writing is getting people to see everything you want them to see without any pictures. ;-)
Should I ever do another, I'll try to include pics just to make you guys happy. ;-) |

| Ok, I went back to old-school rating. This is a good summary of a battle. But it lacks pictures, in-depth strategy, or anything to make it 'special'. So I can't give it a gold. It's better than average though, so I gate it the highest silver. Take no offense :). |

I'm going with praetor on this, as well. Although I won't include br.com history links while doing so ;)
Anyway, report was solid enough, but didn't have anything to make it stand out; writing was okay, but it didn't exactly leaving me on the edge of my seat, or laughning my binoculars off. Great to have a non-LT map, but I couldn't remember how it looked (played it twice or so myself), and was lost without a minimap.
Enough has been said about using pictures already, I'm obviously biased as I use them myself as best as I can, and spend time doing so :)

I liked it. Your good wrting helped over the lack of pictures. In the beginning the tie-ins to people who you obviously know was a little annoying though, cuz many of the people reading this havent heard anything of them.
Apart from that I liked it very much, the link at the end could've been done in HTML for us lazy people, but imo you deserve a 6-7 for this (only cuz no report without pics has gotten a rating above that since a long time.)
