if a movie were up to me -
directed by either micheal mann (notable works are Heat and the upcoming Collateral) or tony scott (Spy Game, Man on Fire)... quentin tarantino would be good.
starring Brad Pitt given some age as Wescott, Edward Norton as Truttman, Bruce Willis as any of the three officers, i dunno how well he is with German, Tommy Lee Jones as 1st Battalion's major. rest of the cast i'd have to think about.
i'd like whoever did the cinematography for The Thin Red Line.
score would be organized by Harry Gregson-Williams, i'd like to see how well he handled the setting. i'd probably be happy with anyone decent, but out of personal taste i'd turn Hans Zimmer and John Williams down.
screenplay definitely by quentin tarantino.
admittedly a lot might be changed in the transition from text to film but given the talents of my prospective crew i'm fairly sure it'd turn out a lot better than anything i would have ever written. |
