I read it right away, but skimmed over some of the unit description stuff in the beginning.
In short. Great job!
I applaud you for finding a game that had not yet been reported on, and doing a top notch job with the report.
The first game (as you know) was pretty lame, but a good primer for the 2nd good game. Playing the computer in RTS's isn't always as entertaining to read as against a human, but you did well with it I thought.
The writing was good, the presentation was very good, and I appreciate the work that went into this, nice work.

Erm, good report, but the actual game seems fairly moronic. If I were to play it, I would be very bother by a few things. Riders of Rohan with -maces- for instance. Bleh, that's crazy; not only did the Riders of Rohan not use maces in the books, no one would use maces on horseback in real life anyways...argh, I don't see how the developers could be that inaccurate. There were alot of other similar things like that.

Great report, though I agree with Lucky on all accounts - so much so that I won't bother to add anything else except, terrific writing and pre-games introduction! Oh, yeah, and the Balrog owned.
Regarding the game, I kinda cooled off towards it when I read the website and saw a whole bunch of inaccuracies to Tolkein's text ( ie. Gandalf being the second wisest member of the order, him as Gandalf the white being equally powerful as he was as Gandalf the grey ). Oh well, I adore the books so that's always going to be my reaction.

Bleh i bought war of the ring like 9 months ago but kinda stopped playing after like 5 mission (wc3 :P).
The game was a bit disappointing thou considering how awsome Battle Realms was (buy it ppls!!!), but i guess using the wc3 license they have to make it accessable so it will be more appealing to the average joe.

There are many more strategic options available to players besides going pure Riders or pure Trolls. In terms of unit diversity and usefulness I'd say the game is on par with starcraft. I only used those two options here to model starcraft strategies- Riders being vultures and Trolls being Ultras. I don't know if that sounds stupid now but at the time it felt like a good idea for a first battlereport introducing the game.

The game is terribly inaccurate if you pay close attention to the units and descriptions they offer, but that shouldn't stop you from trying out the game if you're interested. The missions where you defend Osgilliath and Helm's Deep alone are worth purchasing it :D. |

Just like Dag I agree with Lucky enough that I won't really bother with saying anymore. I do need to emphasize the fact that if you mention that a Balrog is the best unit and then buy one but don't show it at work...
I'd give it an 8 if there was space.

| I liked it. Like most people said, the game itself seemed horribly lacking in depth and such, but you made up for that with nice writing and pretty pictures. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more reports like this, although human players would be nice. ;) |

Hallo! This looks extremly cool. I don't like Lord Of The Rings myself (sue me :P) but the game looks worth getting. I had to get the demo of Majesty today today didn't I... Anyway, the report ruled. I'm sorry Lucky, but Dag's Freelancer report has poisened my mind against you. :D I'll admit that a shot of the Balrog nuking stuff would've been desirable. I like how you refenced Troll Stonehurlers as "adorable". Get me to laugh once and I'll read any report. This part was also funny:

Some reinforcing archers showed up about halfway through the fight, but at that point I had the situation pretty much under my control. My spearmen endured some casualties, but the Free People really had no way of stopping my trolls on the bridge without the assistance of a beorning or two. When all the annoyances were dealt with, I left the bridge and entered the Free People base.

Lol, you're good ender! I've read your other reports and they're good too. I'd definetly like to see more War of the Ring reports from you. Human players would be nice, but, say, what's Hard difficulty like? Lemme guess, it means "run away screaming" in Elven right? Kekeke, sue me.
