It's supposed to be a report on boxing, but
1) it's too short.
2) it's hosted on one of the worst internet hosting programs (extreme bandwidth limit).
3) if you've visited Battlereports.com at all before you'd have known Geocities sucks.
4) there are plenty of other places to host, y'know?

Hm, I "got" it, I guess(it seemed to be making fun of some boxer), but I didn't know who the person was, nor have I seen the movie to which you are referring. So, it wasn't that funny to me, but maybe I just didn't get the jokes due to the fact that I am ignorant on the subject of boxing, or who that person is, or what the movie is :)
And no, Eld is not an idiot.
In any case, keep making more, but with more writing and explaination. JV has a minimum character limit for a reason :) The first few paragraphs seemed a little cliché, but well written. However, then it disentegrated into something with no structure, random pictures, some looking old-fashioned black and white, some looking modern...what was up with this?
On second thought, maybe I didn't get it.

| As to the whole uploading thing, I'm still not having luck with the Report Center. When I try logging in, it takes me to a screen that says "Session Over, click here to relog" with no other options. Plus, I don't remember ever having problems FTPing here before. |

your login problem is weird, but i'm pretty sure you can fix it by just creating a new account. you NEED to use report center - it's basically foolproof, and it'll be even better once it gets revamped.
i thought this was actually pretty funny! you still need to play up on it a lot more - i mean, you're obviously not a stupid guy, and your writing is coherent, so turn this into something bigger. reporting is a great thing; you have absolute freedom to fuck up anything you want, in the format of a battlereport.
speaking of format, that is probaby 50% of what you did wrong. today's reports have to look a lot better to get good ratings - i mean, you can release a really good long report and still get away with it, but for shorter reports you have to make them look nice. i suggest learning CSS - its very simple and very easy to do, even for people who know absolutely nothing about formatting (me).
i still say that you can do a great job on reports in the future. its evident that you are a shade brighter than the other crayons in the box, but don't let your stab at being unique stop you - i think that individuality is an amazingly rare needle in the haystack that is br.com. if you can find something that just screams out your name, something you really like, do it. but please, for the love of god...

Yahoo/Geocities shut down my anti-pollution web site with no explanation other than
"Billing Error"
I go to their "reactivate" pages and it says "Error, can not assist" I call and they
tell me to go to their "reactivate" page. The slave employee on the phone just says
what is on their screen. Trying to argue with them is a waste of time. If you dare
suggest you have already done that, they just say, "Let me connect you to our wait
forever sucker department where you're call will never be answered"
Apparently Yahoo/geocities and corporate friends don't like web sites exposing corruption, needless pollution, and ancient mysteries of all things, very strange.
Two years worth of work lost. Trying to sue them would cost more time and money.
I'll just post the horror story daily some where and the people who continue to use
their services, willingly help them take the world. They are not a funny warm fuzzy
clown face color text logo, that is just an image on your screen. They are a dark
corporation, one of many links in the chains of evil power who don't want you to know
what toxins your children are digesting. They might as well be spoon feeding it to
your kids, their associates are.
Just before my web site was shut down I found out through the logs that there were 814 clicks on my web site's "contact" button which lanks to my page with my email addys. No one clicks on "contact" unless they want to make contact. Once there they have the option of three different email addresses. How many actual emails did I receive? 17
Someone with authority has been intercepting my email for 2 years, but forgot to wipe the logs. The logs were proof that something was wrong. So the just made my whole site vanish. |
