Wow, the game seemed really close, and you kept it exciting right up until the end. Writing was good. Pics were good too, but I had a couple of complaints. Somewhere in the beginning/middle, there was a spot where it went picture - sentence -picture-sentence-picture-sentence - It just really seemed to break up the flow, I think it would have been better to make the pics into a collage there. Also, I wasn't a fan of the mixed color borders, but as my recent report shows, I don't know anything about colors so neh.
Anyways, great report, and I am amazed that you can keep putting these out so quickly. Great job! :] |

Slick report! Sounds like a fun game. There were some minor errors, like when you said you built "a Starport for some Overlord harassment." However, the writing was generally very competant.
The pics were unspectacular; the teal/green borders were interesting though. I would still suggest using a better image editor. That said, your selection of key scenes in the battles was also a plus. Your descriptions were very good, although I wouldn't embed lengthy descriptions into collages, especially where the font is different from your main font.
Anyway, I think this is an easy 8, definitely a step forward from your last few reports. Good stuff! |

I disagree with Decay 100% about the picture - text - picture thing. To me, this worked way better than 99% of collages I've seen! Most collages are for showing off photoshop skills than actually helping the reader understand the report, anyway. That was the coolest part of the report for me -- if I ever make a BR I will surely use that.

- a few grammar mistakes that would have been fixed with more proofreading, such as "As soon as I broke formation when two Zerglings darted inside!"
- really liked the "gglings" collage because it showed exactly what I was looking for after reading the previous paragraph. Even though the collage itself was blocky and the borders were too large, I liked your choice of pictures.
- I also liked the parts where you separated each of your pictures by a line of text in an almost storyboard-esque format. It really helped illustrate the action that was going on and what your thoughts were at the time of the battle. I understand that by disagreeing with Dick I most likely will not get any nookie tonight.
- your first minimap update came WAY too late, almost halfway through the report. Even in a 1v1 it's necessary (and quite easy) to have a few more.
- a very good game to do a report on since it was pretty damn close at the end. A few times you even had me rooting for you, then I realized what I was doing and quickly changed my position.
- your coding was nice and simple as always and you chose not to use any zany backgrounds, which is a good thing.
all in all, a fairly solid 8 that can be brought up by turning those borders into something sleeker and more refined (just make them smaller!), changing their colors into something less intrusive (although using the players' colors was a neat idea, they still aren't pretty), fixing pesky grammatical errors, and maybe bringing a more unique quality into the report. I've always thought that the very best reports are those that stretch the limits of what a battlereport is, such as interactive BRs and "choose your own adventure BRs" or the Survivor BRs. Something new and unique earns MAJOR brownie points with me, at least.

Awe Psy, I always cared about you, even before you left to the mission trip. I could always beat you 1vs1, but sucked as your partner in 2vs2 in war3ft. Anyways, great report...I just started playing a little again, and of course I suck as always, but this report will give me new inspiraction to play better so I can suck it up when starcraft 2 comes out.
Anyways, your opening you gave every con for doing it, and no pro's for going 2 gate. While I'm sure your intent was to say it was a mistake, I'm sure you had a logically unsound reason for going for in the first place and that idea would be worth reading in this report? (ie benefit to making bobo thinking you were straight zealot pumping, while you fast teched to templar, but like you said later, its no secret most protoss tech to templar)
Almost as good as Chuck Norris lol. His tears...oh wait you have probably heard them all

My guess for psy doing the 2 gate at your choke thing is he's seen me do it. Seems like a lot of psy's strats are stolen from me here recently. ;p
As far as a normal opening, it's pretty weak, I think. I feel you're generally better off going for a normal fast expansion on most maps but the 2 gate at choke thing can be good as a mix it up build. It forces you both to play differently than a normal fast expansion.
The purpose of going for the 2 gates is to keep pressure on the zerg early, keeping him from getting his 3rd base going so soon and forcing him to power fewer drones. Basically it's like using a normal two gate build, but because you blocked off your choke you expand instead of tech while you're pressuring.
It takes a good bit of practice to use it well, and unless you get lucky and he made his pool really late or something it's not really any better than a normal fast expand opening. But sometimes, especially if you can delay their hatch with your probe, it can really be worth it. |

i thought the pics were very nice, they captured a large portion of the action. writing was good but could use some work...some bad grammar and at times the report was difficult to follow. otherwise, very nice. i like how you kept the reader updated on upgrades as well as minimaps. |

I've only tried doing it recently to see how it works for me because I think I saw Nal_rA or Bisu do it once. I dunno. It's good to use when you want to mix it up or if an opponent knows you well, to make him rethink his play. Meh. It was a close game, if I had defended a little better and not taken Top right. I think I might have pulled ahead.

I haven't played d2 in months. :/ Course I haven't really played SC in awhile, either. I really thought I used it vs somebody in NH not too long ago. Maybe not.
The build works well if you know how to play a 2 gate build. If you aren't good at pressuring and knowing how to play out a game in that style then it just doesn't work. If you open with 2 gates, you HAVE to be aggressive with your zealots. Unless you're playing mehdi or my clanmate thanatos, both of whom are perfectly willing to let you ravage their natural while they dart burrowlings into your main. Burrowlings are just bad manner. :( |

yeah it used to fuck up the way I played against mehdi, as I'd start to play defensively and then he'd just expand everywhere, mostly because he's gay.
Actually I haven't obsed or played players better at harassment than mehdi. Mutas and borrowlings - ugh. |

| After renewing my interest in playing BW lately, I went back and read this in its entirety. I really enjoyed, it and give it a 9 for good writing and well done image collages. As well as the fact that it was as good game with two good players. |
