zeon: No, I haven't. If I try to win basically every zvp and zvz with them, then that means I think of them as the best unit I have at my disposal, which means I put a lot of faith in them and rate them as the greatest asset in my forces. I use them heavily because I "rate" them as the best unit in my arsenal. Granted, that wasn't your intended meaning, but I don't care about your intended meaning. ;p
And, yes, I understand that my usage of and feelings about lings have no bearing on whether they are underrated by the populace at large. My point was that there is a certain ambiguity in the term, and I, personally, do not underestimate their usefulness -- therefore, in my game, they are in no way underrated.
Honestly, though, I think lings are only underrated by bad/inexperienced players. Good players know that lings can be used for anything: attacking, harassment, scouting, counter-scouting, delay tactics, expansion denial, so on and so forth. And no good player, especially if they play protoss, can afford to underestimate the effectiveness of zerglings. Especially cracklings. |

Maar, I think Zeon means that MOST people don't think much of the ling, not that YOU, yourself, do or do not.

I know; I thought I explained that in my post, but I guess I didn't. My point is that that statement can be either taken as "most people underestimate the zergling" or "everybody underestimates the zergling" and I chose to take it as the second and make my point on that.
I know what he meant, I just wanted to make my point to: 1. say that I love zerglings and 2. remind psy (and any other protoss players that see this that I may have owned with my fast crackling mass builds) of just how gay my zergling heavy builds are. I wasn't actually trying to argue his point with my initial post, wasn't even intending it as a serious reply to him at all, just as a way of tooting my own zergling loving horn (that sounds dirty on several levels). Mainly because I'm not sure that his post was serious, anyway. |
