Very nice for a first-time report - including the nice cheap use of bloggers insta-format. Not sure whether to give points for that or not. Clear writing. Not a great game, but easy to follow and a lot to build on.

let's start with the good: your writing was descriptive and not dry, and your pictures were generally illustrative of what was going on. so do more of that.
the bad: well, the game. it wasn't uninteresting per se (the learning process is definitely worth writing about), but since we don't really know you or your friends we have to hold it to more general standards. you noted your mistakes, and that you guys didn't play great. that in and of itself is fine, but it doesn't make for a great report. try using replays of professional games, or do a couple of your better games and chart your improvement over them (more than the quick paragraph of the first round, i mean). low level games don't inherently lack reportability, but you need to frame them in some way, because they aren't as interesting as high skill matches.
secondly picture quality. notice the blurriness in pictures you added text in. paint can't compress worth crap, but the plain images are okay. if you can't get your hands on GIMP or photoshop (gimp is free but the interface makes me cry, your mileage my vary) i'd recommend leaving the image editing to just cropping. speaking of cropping, try to cut out the resource counter; it's distracting and not exceptionally pertinent.
i'm not a huge fan of the blogspot thing, especially since we have hosting here so you can keep stuff onsite and not have all the stuff floating around. still, it doesn't actually affect the readability or anything, so i'm not going to dock you for layout. just suggest that you click the file upload center link and put stuff there if you want to post stuff on this site and need the hosting (if you want to keep your primary publishing location your blog and crosspost here, that's fine too).
oh one other thing, since we're talking about stuff specific to this site: if you do intend for BR.com to be your primary audience then you don't need to discuss the more minor details of starcraft strategy, like cost-effectiveness of zealots. again, if you're aiming for an audience outside of this community, that's probably a good thing to do, but our traffic knows.
so in summation you need a better game and to not use paint to do collages or draw arrows. based on writing and pics alone i'd throw you a 7, but the game is poor enough that i'm going to dock you down to a 6. by no means a bad start, and i hope you stick around and save us from the reporting drought. |

Excellent report, loved the writing style.
I personally didn't mind the low quality of the play at all, as the meaty part (report) flowed smoothly all the way throughout, and the overall presentation was aesthetic to the eye.
(Although the pictures could use some work, yes.)

A nice report in a simple style, but that is not a bad thing at all. Writing was good and about the game itself... well I can't play any better so I can't complain.
About the images it would have been better to first scale the pictures to the size you need them in the report and then add the arrows and text. Would have been less blurry this way I think. Otherwise they are ok. Even though I would have made them the same width as the text, but that is personal taste.
A solid 6! (7 if the text in the images wasn't that blurry)
PS.: Finally someone else posting a report... It felt quite lonely the past months. |

- I have to say that I honestly didn't realize your report was linked to another website until I scrolled down to the comments. I thought that maybe JV and lucky had changed the layout or something.. it was quite shocking. Although the report looked nice in that blog format, it's going to detract from the br.com traffic since your visitors there probably won't visit us. Next time I would recommend posting it here then providing a link on your blog for anyone who is interested in seeing it.
- The game was not the best. It was also fairly short. I think you could still play a 1v1 with your friend and find it more reportable if it's more interesting. It doesn't have to be a battle of progamers but it does have to be something we haven't seen a million times before.
- Your writing was clean and to the point but sometimes that's not the best idea, especially when reporting on a substandard game. If you can't find something more exciting, make it more exciting. Draw stick figures. Make stupid jokes. Or, go against br.com tradition and make good jokes! There are really two types of reporters... those who can make us say "wow" or those who make us say "lolz." Since you don't have graphic editing tools on your side or a video editing studio, I'm going to recommend sprucing up your report to get the "lolz," as the kids say.

Enjoyed it man, good writing. It's nice to see the effort that went into describing a game that, by the standards of the site, wouldn't be worth watching on rep.
That said, it was a fun little jaunt and I liked the way you scrambled for the expo after the main went down; having been in that position myself, I found the writing accelerated and sped along with the rising heart-rates in precisely the right way.
Keep it up. And if you're more used to toss and terran, show us some examples of you stomping someone with your home team!

| Haha, this is an easy 7 just because I loved the excellent use of MSPaint. A classic report from the days before BR'ing got gimmicky. Its like I jumped into a time machine and came out in 1999. Nice work. |
