Whew... that was a marathon. Looks like I got it in on the first try. Two tiny things.
1 - In the paragraph above the picture of T-Mac unloading hydras, there should be a space after his name.
2 - The HTML brown I picked for Barage looked brown on the book, but orange on screen... if you feel like replacing for a better brown, go for it.
Minor stuff, but I wanted it to be as close to perfect as I can manage with my feeble brain.

| Hmm, it seems like im the only one smart enough to stay up til 3 am to read a YRM report. I only noticed one mistake, where you mentioned an overlord of doomdragons, but other than that, GREAT REPORT! Barage really was being a pain in the ass, and i think winning with zerg in a ffa is REALLY hard to do, since its so hard to secure expansions with a nice defense, especially when theres another zerg player being a nuisance by continually attacking me and MAKING me attack him (damn you barage). Anyways, terran sux, zerg sux, protoss own all :D |

| Well, just read it for a 2nd time, and i thought id mention another tidbit from the game (if anyone cares). After i lost my expansion, i managed to take out around 6 overlords with scourge i produced. I didnt think it would make much of a difference, since he had lost so many troops to me and chargon, but after the game, he told me that i had really put a cramp on his producing. Mwahahahaha. |

If i had fortified the mineral only i took from barage, it would have definitely done me more good in the long run. I really knew that he would expect i would attack his next expansion, but i was hoping i could unload the ols anyways.........Silly me, i lost half the overlords before they emptied. |

my thoughts on strategy that game:
Toss = dead m/m in massive #'s
zerg = muta/guardian/devourer or hydra drop
golioths dont die quite as bad to storm, and certainly stand up to guards better than m/m. Golioths dont do horribly vs hydras either, and with tank support, they rape them. This to me said 3 factories, massive golioths, factory upgrades, and some tank support. Most of my marines were for filling my bunkers at each expansion. I built a fews sv's once the time for zerg to have guards came around, and ghosts came out at about the time the toss could have a fleet.
Terran factory units get the best upgrades in the game imo. Golioths with their massive air attack, and tanks with their massive land attack. Golioths also having a land attack makes this a very hard combo to stop.
I didnt know the map when i started, but quickly remembered it. This is why i sent my cc to the wrong place :(. I constantly reparied my hurt troops. The key to this game, was that i moved in only when i knew i could take a spot and hold it. I never attacked unless i had first scouted the area i thougt was important(mineral patches), and had enough troops, or the advantage of terrain to slaughter the enemy. I moved slowly across the center, taking expansions as i went. Im tired.

Hmm... "Best" of Author? Better than the FFA that got so much attention? New look to the pictures (which I thought came over pretty nice)... animated nuke, minimap battle, spellchecking, rough draft and re-writing, a long, back and forth game, new color coding in the names of the players, all the details of the battle are right... and I start off with a 9... can anyone tell me why? Other than... well, there was a missing space after T-Mac's name in one paragraph so it's not 100% flawless. If someone totally different had written this report... is it a 10? Just curious. (kind of sitting here laughing about it actually)
As for those of you bashing Fractal to me, here or on nohunters, because his style is similar to mine. I don't want to hear it. His effort can not be called into question or berated, and personally, I liked his reports an awful lot.

The expansion attempt did not go unnoticed by DoomDragon's overlord, and the protoss commander sent over a dragoon, dark templar,and zealot by shuttle.
I sat for like a minute, trying to make my brain react, but no.. It was late... but I finally understood that it was a mistake.. I thought about it long, cuz I thought U couldent do mistakes... oh well...

Dag, I wait so long to catch this BR and I end up as the 30th to even make a comment :P.
It's odd to finaly find out what had gone on in a game and realize there were SO many places where one could've taken advantage of the situation. Recon truly is god in an FFA.
To T-mac, I never did single you out till you decided to test out your hydra drop. I never, EVER, like losing an expansion *starts to growl*, and the chance at losing two...(must...not...kill...T_mac....must...not...). Well, you did get that payback; the overlord assassinations threw me completly off track.
This game has ended up teaching me about spellcasting. I'm actualy making defilers now (and not after I need to use drones, overlords, and an oddly placed nydus to sneak minerals away from a terran :P). Now I just need to work on my macro.
(stops pondering about whether T_mac can be broodlinged; hydra drop MY exp will he?)
To Chargon, you sound like exactly how I imagine a great terran player to be; slowly and relentlessly taking everything in sight, and burn what little the enemy can do against you. To all who love the air, FEAR the goliath.
To YRM, excellent report (and not because I was in it...well, not JUST because). You are good at what you do, and it was a pleasure showing what I can, cannot do, and can perhaps figure out if I could ever remember it. One question; how did you understand that hydra? Even as a cerebrate I sometimes can't figure out what those punks are saying.
One more thing (*wow.. this IS long :P*), Kerrigan was forgiving (I'm still alive aren't I? She doesn't give reincarnations you know, at least not recently). She politly pointed out how I could be a better cerebrate (*cringes at the rememberance of those claws*).

I'll e-mail you some tweeks, but mainly, DoomDragon's Overlord stands out to me as the worst offender (its pointed out above). I pasted the wrong name in when I was color coding the names and pasting them. Color coding names is a pain in the ass. I didn't color EVERY instance, but most.
In the instance where I talked about scourge suicide, I accidentally used present tense verbs twice.
Then there is that lack of space after T-Mac's name... not that it really matters, I wanted it to be flawless because I thought it was better than the other FFA report, but it's already *snif* soiled with a less than perfect rating. =(

I did give the report a 9.0, no reason to hide it. As I said, this report is definitely a "Best-of-Author" and it's an excellent refinement of all YRM's earlier works.
The rating system has definitely skewed greatly since the beginning, but I've always thought that 9.0 was nearly perfect. I save my 10.0's for reports that seriously and effectively push the envelope in some way. This report is great the way it is, and I wouldn't change anything though.
If Johnny's vote system allowed it, I would have given it a 9.5. I gave it a 9.0 with the expectation that the final score would be nearly 9.8 or 9.9.

In other words... the first time I spent a week on a report with animations and such, it was groundbreaking, but now, it no longer "breaks new ground". He he... well, somebody better have a fully functioning Flash animation for intermission entertainment for the next 10.0. =)
I hear ya about the .5 rating thing... I see reports that are not 9.0s or 8.0s, and I end up asking myself, is this a huge improvement for this person? Etc... well, I hope you're right and it goes up Cattlebruiser, I enjoy a high rating. (makes too much freakin work seem worthwhile)

I've almost totally revised my thoughts about BRs not needing graphics. That was some true wizardry going on there!=0 This was hands- down the best report I've seen on this site! (CBs report was very cool, but alas only involved 2 players and had that chrono- devouring story plot) I can see people lining up in order to pay you to do a BR of them! This could be your new job;-)
BTW, IMO the present tense 'mistakes' exist only in English teachers minds. I think some writing sounds downright awful is the tenses don't shift depending on the situation. But maybe I was born to hate English.;-) |

Well there seems to be a sort of a hullabaloo about the rating of this report.
First off, YRM, this was an awesome report, and more than worth my time by far.
But I gave it a 9. (Wait a moment while I barricade my door. Ok, arming shotgun). I guess my taste is just weird, for I liked the three-way FFA much better, and it seemed to be a better game as well. As for pictures, yours were great here, but the other report was just more entertaining. Not that this report should be measured alongside your previous work.
In my opinion, this was an excellent report, but just did not sink me into the report, absorbing myself into the story. It didn't make me care about the outcome. Unlike CattleBruiser, I do not reserve 10's for what 'raises the bar.' Rather, I always know 10's because they give me that visceral feeling.
In an effort to be even more vague, your writing style was not as good as I've seen you do before, though I liked the first bit. Perhaps you just didn't care as much about this report, though you put more work into it?

if you're protoss at your unit limit, instead commiting probe-icide, shouldn't you try to mind control some poor drone or something? especially after one of the opponents left. i'm sure there might have been all sorts of neat units in the main base.
i can't stand killing my own units. even if i messup and build a depot where a comsat would go, i'm loathe to do so....
if i'm going to suicide i would at least do try to attack something... maybe take a few hp off of a tank.

| Another great report YRM. I do have to agree that the 3 way ffa was better. I am torn between giving you a ten to reflect all the hard work and effort, and a nine to reflect the actual game reported. (And I do like Brave Sir Robin, et al, alot more than Dustin Hoffman). | I just got off of b.net, and i was playin a 3v3 o clutter when a guy lagged out and stopped the program. It was right in the middle of the battle for the front lines and whoever controlled the middle. So i snuck over a queen and nydused into the center mans base. Let me tell you, all my team was zerg and it works really well. All my allies thought i was using weird tactics, so i dropped in a couple of ultralisks and some drones. Of course, with the battle going, attention was undisputedly gone from the bases. (Except mine) |

| I learned from this thingy (report) that unorthodox in multiplayer is very effective. I consider unorthodox anything that doesn't just mass. I give it a 10, and to not leave you waiting i will tell you how it ended up. So i sent in some queens and overlords with defilers and zerglings to diminish some of the cannons and tanks. THen one of my allies called in his gaurdians. We got about halfway through when some corsairs came through. |
