I was on Battlenet with my friend, which I would keep him anonymous, looking for some 2 v 2 games. We created a public 2 v 2 on Lost Temple (what else?).
We played a lot of 2 v 2 lately, he always use terran and I always use toss, because personally I think zerg suck in 2 v 2 games. In 90% of those games (even though we played less than 10 2 v 2 games), either we both attack one of the opponents the same time and win or our opponents attack one of us and they win, those are quick games. In the other 9%, we had to fight for the whole map and go massive in (fill in your favorite unit here), and win if we outresource our opponents and vice versa... then there's the remaining 1%, which is what happened last night.
Enough of this crap, let's get it on!

Sorry, I wasn't thinking of writing a BR in the game, so I don't remember any of my opponents' names.
I scouted both opponents with my 7th probe and attack T12 with my first 4 zealots, he had two bunkers behind two supply at the choke, but he didn't have much marine in those bunkers, so my zealot went pass by and start ripping his SCVs apart, he ran his SCVs away and use his marines doing a hit and run thing on my zealots, I didn't follow his marines and took out his refinery, then he got some medics and I know my zealots will die so I told them to attack the SCVs and they killed 2 of them before vaporized.
I tech up quickly with DT and shuttle, with my partner's scan, I found there's only 1 turret near T12's CC, so I dropped 2 shuttles of units containing 2 DT and 4 zealots and 1 goon, but somehow, one of my shuttle can't unload!!! this is so frustrating, and before the units from the other shuttle destroys the turret, my shuttle containing the other units are all DEAD!!! I didn't do much damage since he had the scanner, and I ran my DT away, hiding in the corner on hold to keep an eye on his base, it was killed later when a turret was build there.
By this point, everyone except T12 expanded to their natural.
Wood had lots of goliath and tanks now, and T9 has mass wraith, after a scan, we found T9 got nothing on his natural's cliff, so Wood send 4 dropships of goliath and 1 dropship of tanks to that cliff, how unfortunately for us, the dropships were intercepted by some wraiths, all the goliaths survived while the dropship with the 2 tanks exploded in air, I send an observer and a templar over to help, we couldn't do much with it since we got no tanks, I stormed a bunch of SCVs and wraiths, but T9 got tanks in lower ground and blows everything up.
T12 expanded to his natural and he attacked me with 20+ infantry and a few tanks, but they all died to storms, I had templars all over my base. I have 3 carriers now and lauched an attack on T12's natural. With help from 2 corsair's Dweb, I safely unload a goon and 2 templar on cliff, and that's when about 20+ of T9's goliath coming, I had a shuttle of two reavers and there too, and I tried to unload them behind the refinery there, but again, it won't unload!!! so I had unload them next to the CC there, but before I can unload the second reaver, my shuttle blasts in air!!! DAMN! why do this keep happening to me!!! my reaver die quickly under goliath fire, and all my carriers got locked down! all I could do was release all the storms my 2 templars had before running away with the shuttle and goon.
All of a sudden, I heard my base is under attack, T9 dropped 6 tanks and a bunch M&M and some wraiths are there too, my cannons on my natural's cliff go down in less than 1 sec, I yell out for help from Wood, I only have one shuttle at that point, and no air units, so i dropped 1 templar 1 zealot and 1 reaver on the cliff, with storm and scarab, I kill most units except the tanks! my natural's nexus went down, too. I finally got those tanks with the storms from the templars transported there, Wood send some Goliath over. I rebuild my natural and expanded to the bottom right island.
Scan showed T12 has expanded to his second natural and T9 expanded to the top left island. That's no good...we were getting outresourced. Wood's natural is getting killed by a tank push, I send 3 carriers over and stopped the push for a while. T12 build some bunkers and turret near my 2nd natural so I can't expand there. Wood expanded to his 2nd natural, and before he can start mining, another tank push arrived. T9 has 10+ tanks siege together while Wood only has about 5 tanks there, so he retreated his tanks, I send some corsairs and carriers over and dweb the tanks, and Wood's tank started to move in and killed them all, but 10+ wraith showed up and killed the SV and the observer there after a scan, my carriers starts to run and Wood's tanks suffered heavy loss.
For the next 10 minutes, it's was quite peaceful, I had about 8 carriers and 3 corsair, Wood is low in resources, and our opponents have 5 expansion vs us only 3. We know that we are gonna lose if we don't use our $ wisely. My carriers are useless vs lockdown and goliath. I had a few arbiters, but they aren't so effective when there's scan. All of a sudden, I remember something great call RECALL!!! I remember once I heard someone said if you want to scout someone's base, just put your carrier on one side and attack, and recall them from the other side, and all the interceptor will fly over the base. I remember another time when some guy recalled 20+ zealots on my island expansion.
That's it!!! I researched recall and had 2 arbiters ready, they survived in some big battles that I don't remember anymore, I lost a bunch of carriers and templars in those battles.
T9 is low on gas, all the units he use to attack us are marines!!! I had my force of 8 carriers and a few templars and 2 corsair at Wood's base when 50+ M&M trying to breakthrough, but the Dweb and storm took care of them. After some scan, I decided to attack T9's main, since there were no units there, I need Wood's SV to D-matrix my arbiter, but his SV is low on energy, but then I remembered I already research Hallucination, and I used the templars in Wood's base to hallucinate my arbiter twice, with 4 fake ones going toward T9's main and drawing fire from the turrets, my arbiter got in and I recalled my 8 carriers in Wood's base... KILL!!!! DIE!!!! REVENGE!!!!
After razing half the base, T12 send in lots of goliath and ghosts to help, my arbiter got locked down, (does anyone know that if a arbiter got lock down, the units around it aren't cloaked anymore? I didn't know that), knowing I am outnumbered, I use the arbiter at my home base and recall everything back. That's when it happened!!! 64 interceptor flying across the map!!! WOW!!! that's such a spectacular view. A few minutes later, I did the same thing to T12's natural and razed everything there before reinforcement arrived. Then I tried again on T12's second natural but there were too many turrets there and my arbiter got killed. So I build another arbiter.
T9 attacked Wood with all his marines and it break the choke defense and Wood was flying all his building to my main. My second arbiter had been out for a while, I didn't care about how much energy it got, all I knew was I gotta attack quickly, so I hullicination the first arbiter 4 times, with 8 fake ones running across the map, my real arbiter arrived in T9's main, and recalled 8 carriers, 2 corsairs, 6 dragoons and a templar. The funny thing was my arbiter was on the edge of the base, and everything but the templar was on higher ground, and my templar is walking around the ramp to join the rest of the force, T9 order about 30 SCVs to kill my templar, and my templar runs like no other templar ran before. then my arbiter got lockdown, there were lots of cloaked ghost next to the ramp, so I had to make a quick decision, and stop my templar to cast 2 storms to kill all the cloaked ghosts before dying to those damn SCVs. I completely razed T9's main, and T12 sends all his ghosts and goliath over again, it's time to run!
Then it happened...the worst thing ever...
it's bad if you keep forgeting to make units in a game, but it's a zillion times worse if you forget where your units are!!! just when I wanted to recall my forces back, I can't find my other arbiter!!!!!
I thought maybe it got recalled with those carriers too, but I checked and only 1 arbiter in T9's main, so WTF happened to my other arbiter!!!! I had no choice but to fight, using all the dweb, but there were just too much ghosts and goliath, I had to run, but carriers are too slow and they all got locked down...
I only got a few hundred minerals left, and I secretly mining from my second natural with the probes from my natural, they had to walk a long way to mine...
I found T9 expanded to Wood's 2nd natural, so I drop a templar and storm his SCVs, but after a few times, my shuttle died to T12's few wraiths. Then a tank push started toward my main, I stormed as much as I can, no use at all, just too much shit out there...
I looked at my island expansion, and WTF!!! I found an arbiter there!!!! how in the world! now I remembered, that second arbiter was on its way to Wood's main and then go sneak in T9's main, but it didn't happen because that was when T9's marine razing Wood's main, and I completely forgot about it!!! with no more $ and only about 10 templars left in my main, we surrendered...

We should have won, if not for my bad memory. It was a good game and a fun one too. It was the first time I used recall and it's awesome!!!
Lessons Learned:
1.Remember where your units are!!! especially the spellcasters.
2.Recall is the best counter for lockdown.
3.interceptors flying across the map is beautiful!!!
4.The second natural at 12 on LT is the easiest to protect, and the second natural at 9 is easiest to kill, that sux.
5.ghost + goliath > carrier
6. carrier + 2 arbiters + recall + hallucination > anything |
