* This is the first BR i've ever written. I wanted to make a BR a long time ago, and this is the first game I decided to report.
* Despite this game, I'm consider myself an average player. I think I deserve a 1100 ladder points, although I don't have it.
* Sometimes I play like a complete newbie =[.
* Sorry about some english errors.
* I think every game should have some (3 or more) pics, but in this case, I forgot to take even a single one.....
I was at the Brood War Ladder channel looking for an opponent. Damn how that channel is messed up.
It's very difficult to find someone for a ladder game in the middle of those úüúíüþ®éßþåþí½ðáå®éå®þð€
¤³€1:1-speaking koreans. I whispered many guys, and one accepted. I created the game and in almost no
time he was there. To start a little conversation, I asked:"u from korea?"; and he replied:"OK!!". DOH
:\! Anyway, the match has began.

I was pretty comfortable about the game. I knew he would go for DTs, a rush,
drop, containment, wathever. I know how to hold off DTs easily. And here is my
build order:
8 depot
10 rax
14 gas
Factory
Factory
Right after the rax was finished, the SCV got new orders, and that was to scout
at 9:00. Nothing. Then 12:00. Nothing again. While he was busy in his job, I built
a bunker at my choke and filled it with marines.
When my SCV finally arrived at 3:00, a surprise: he had only a gateway, a forge,
a couple cannons right next to his buildings, a halfway gateway and an also halfway
cyber-core. I expected him more advanced. Still thinking about the DTs, I started an
Engineering Bay and the Academy. My both factories already had the add-on, and where
pumping out Vultures (I'm beginning to like these guys, specially against protoss) and
Tanks (Note: here I made my mistake #1; After the E-Bay was finished, I didn't make
any towers).
The Mid-Game (Errr...... End-Game)
A scan at his ramp revealed it completely opened, and asking for a tank-push inside
the base. So I started my offense. I headed to his base with 6 Vultures, 4 Tanks, 8 marines
and a SCV. I was pretty happy, since no troops were seen there. During the course, a
lone moving-only zealot was going to my base, but he was quickly sent to the dragoons
factory. At this point I also started a CC at my natural.
Up in his base, I started a tower and deployed some mines (mistake #2, I should put these
mines below his ramp, not close to my force). When he saw me, he sent his only 2 zealot at me.
One died before getting closer, and the other killed one vulture (actually, one mine killed it).
Now i thought "let's start the demolition!". I built a bunker and sieged my tanks. But to my
frustation, 2 DTs attacked me, and all my mines blowed my entire army :(. From the blood and the
rests of my army, the only standing thing was the tower and the bunker. DAMN!
Back to my base, I realized that I still had only one rax (mistake #3, even with my one-rax
early build, I should add more later...). So I started another rax. Also, I sent another 4 tanks
and 4 more marines. But when they got there, I realized that 4 DTs was sent to my base. SH*T!!!
The only detecting stuff there was my comsat :(((. And almost no troops. So those pesky-cloaked
assassins where doing their stuff: destroyed my comsat and were killing SCV per SCV. So I surrended,
without saying even "gg".
Lessons Learned (this may sound a little newbie, but I really learned this..... for the 4th
time............)
- Have more than one rax :(
- Protect your terran base with towers.
- Don't use mines near your fighting force; they can blow up your entire army :(((((
- Don't give up! I could still tried to attack his main and flied my buildings.
- I sux!! 8-|
I hope you enjoyed my first BR. And add your comment.
