My first BattleReport didn't go over so well. I had copied and pasted it from notepad and for some reason it all ran together. Whats more my screen shots didn't get in there for some reason. I hope these screen shots take. I believe I did it right. If they didn't, have pity on me, brothers.

His name was Summer]n[exus.

I was a Terran-lovin brat who thought he was invincible. But this time I went random in fear that he would choose Zerg. Not that I fear the Zerg themselves, I don't. I fear the early Lurkers. They've feasted upon my rotting corpse on more than one occasion and I figured random was the best protection against that.

Summer went last-minute Protoss and I rode random out until fate smiled upon me and I landed upon familiar soil at the helm of a newborn Terran war machine.

The killing grounds he chose had been Lost Temple, of coarse.

I started at 3 o'clock and he started at 12. And from there it was a Dropshipfest.

I had been blocking off my ramp heavy metal style when his scouting probe rolled through. He poked around a little bit, darting and dashing around freely in his enemies base.

I ignored him.

My barracks finished and I quickly began construction of a second depot in case he sent over that probes big brother. And Summer, upon seeing the flashing lights of my barracks, decided that he had over stayed his welcome and proceeded to bug out.

The first marine out of the barracks began to track the probe.

I had jumped on gas and was moving towards a double factory build.

My scouting marine was given a move command and so he didn't stop to shoot at the single zealot that was holding position at the top of Summers ramp. The zealot clocks my marine one good time as he goes by but he got through and proceeds to kill the probe he'd tracked there before being turned into a red smear on the ground by the pursuing zealot. (Got a screen shot of that one.)

One gateway and a core. Looks like he was fond of heavy metal too.

Back at home I had upgraded spider mines and had two vultures whipping around outside the factories when a knock came at the door. I didn't open it.

But through the peephole I could see some zealots and dragoons gathering on my porch, just under the ramp. (Got a screen shot of that too.)

But they didn't try to push through, they just stood there loitering about. Telling Protoss jokes that I didn't really get.

Gonna crash my party, heh. We'll see...

I had been waiting for my siege mode upgrade before trying to route them. I didn't want to risk it before then. Besides, even though they were trespassing they weren't vandalizing anything just yet and so I could be patient.

Then they came. With two brand new tanks rolling out of the twin factories they began pushing up my ramp to try to get at the meat of my operation but I wouldn't have it. Not on my shift. I sieged my tanks up and that was hint enough for him. He packed up camp and marched off in the other direction.

I didn't follow. I knew he was out there waiting for me and I wasn't in the mood to spring any traps. I was gonna play this one cool. So I added a control tower to the starport that had just finished and began arranging a meeting with his probes.

As my first dropship was being built I put up an engineering bay. You know how those Toss get with their Dark Templar. They love em. They think they're the greatest thing since Psionic Storm and I wasn't gonna give this guy any pleasure. So I built a turret by my SCV's, (cause they work better when undisturbed) and put up a bunker and a tank right next to it.

This decision was one of the important ones. No sooner had my tank transformed into siege mode when a shuttle tested the waters and decided that today was not a good day to just barge into the Terrans back door. He felt he should turn away and I didn't argue with him.

I had a really good idea that his cargo had been Dark Templar.

I loaded up my new dropship with four vultures and set sail for 12 o'clock, taking the long way around as not to rouse any idle goons that could be, (and hopefully were), stationed between my house and his.

As I was passing over the 9 o'clock high ground i noticed a pylon on the edge of my vision.

The bastard had expanded.

I wondered if I should drop the vultures here or continue onward to his main. If I dropped them here I might take out a probe and pylon and possibly a nexus before the goons arrived to route me. Or I could surprise the hell out of him and get a bunch of probes at his main.

I was just too greedy and I continued on, hoping that he hadn't noticed the dropship passing near by.

There would be plenty left over for 9 o'clock.

My vultures landed unchallenged on the left of his plateau, right beside the assimilator and I commenced to kill ALOT of probes before he realized what was going on and pulled them away.

It would be a waste of time to chase after them... so I mined his friggin probe line!

His goons finally arrived and with the help of an observer he systematically removed the mines and the vultures.

But I had come out way ahead.

So I had costed him time and probes at his main, he had expanded and I still had not. So I knew what my next move was.

As I constructed two more CC's, one at my natural and one at my base for floating, I was loading up another group of vultures to pay 9 o'clock a little visit. But I had seen a forge at his main before being routed so I thought twice and loaded up a newly arrived dropship with a pair of tanks to accompany them.

As my transports were in transit my natural expansion CC came under attack by one of his cloaked assassins. The cargo of his previous drop attempt no doubt. I answered with two vultures going down and mining the area and after a little cat and mouse the threat was over. I finished the CC and began building SCV's there.

Back at the 9 o'clock things were about to get hairy for him once again. My tanks were moving into position to remove the single cannon that seperated my vultures from his probes. A couple of blasts later my vultures were having fun again. Grenades were popping and probes were being blown sky-high.

It wasn't a good day to be a probe.

Finally the goons arrived on the scene to crash my party. That's cool, I'd got what I came for.

So now I had killed probes at an expansion at a main, I had my natural expansion in full swing and I had a CC slowly slipping up on the bottom right island.

Solemn tanks stood in siege mode along the ledge over looking my expansion and I had reached science vessels. Things were looking good so far and I didn't want to let up the pressure on Summer.

It was time for round three.

Four tanks and four vultures this time with an accompanying science vessel. I sent it to his main this time but from the opposite direction.

But wait...

Has he expanded again to his natural? Why, yes, he has.

This keeps getting better and better.

But he was ready for me this time. A single shuttle hung suspended above the ledge over looking his natural. Summer was no fool. And when it comes to Toss one shuttle can contain some power.

The shuttle moved forward to drop its load and I just walked away... to lock the door.

I returned a few seconds later to take a peek with my science vessel and as I drew near three primed Dark Templar were illuminated.

I turned my dropships around and marched right back up there. I dropped my task force in the right hand corner, out of his view and then moved forward, clearing the dark menaces from my path and proceeded to siege up on the edge of the cliff. And for the third time today I was eating probe casserole.

My accompanying vultures were busy laying mines in anticipation of any counter punch he might throw in order to pluck me from my perch but nothing came. So I loaded up my vultures and went over to see what was going on in his main.

They landed on the right this time and then darted in to assess things. Two cannons on either side of the probe line, the minerals were almost mined out and I saw alot of gateways. I commenced to attacking the few probes that had been left behind to finish off the rock but I didn't get too many of them before the cannons finished off my vultures.

This had been the only sortie up until now where I didn't cost him more than he'd costed me.

So now I had sacked one expansion attempt, sacked probes in two different places, he still held the 9 o'clock expansion and I held my natural plus an island, both in full bloom.

But Summer was far from out. As long as he held that expansion he could deal some pain and I wanted to stay busy.

While all of this was taking place I was sending four goliaths over to his 9 o'clock. Which was funny, I had never attacked with a shuttleful of goliaths before.

By now I had around four factories and goliaths were rolling out of them in anticipation of the corsairs that had shot down the shuttle that dropped the second wave of vultures.

Corsairs meant D web and I was not a fan.

I loaded up four dropships bound for 9, added a science vessel to them and moved out. In transit I passed over a mass of dragoons in the middle and I lost a single transport before breaking towards the water. And as I was moving in on the 9 o'clock six corsairs moved in to greet me.

I was able to deposit my force before they shot down my ships and I immediately sieged up and began shelling the expansion again.

He must've been hating me by now.

I was able to blow up many, many probes and even a couple of starports this time before the goons arrived. They arrived on the scene raising a ruckus, saying something about the noise we were making and asking us to leave.

They were very rude about the whole thing.

I don't like rude.

The time had come for me to begin the march. You know the march. When all the defending siege tanks unsiege and everyone moves out into the valley in front of your natural.

He would be feeling the loss of all those probes real good by now.

My forces prepared to go all out while replacements cluttered the spaces where they had sat.

But Summer presented some tough resistance indeed. His game plan was: station an observer, wait till I was in transit and then flank me.

And it was successful too. My first wave was wiped out, (but not without a heavy toll on him). And so my second wave fired up its engines and set out to make another push for his main.

Again, heavy goon flank. Only this time I was more prepared and EMP'ed the hell out of him. But his goons were many and my forces finally fell, leaving him with only seven damaged dragoons.

The difference here was I'd been mining in three places uninterrupted while inflicting major set backs on him. I could replace what he couldn't.

Thats why he ran those seven goons when my third full task force set out to finish the job. I chased him all the way back to his main where he made a final stand but fell to the thunderous roar of tank firepower.

Tanks, goliaths and science vessels descended upon him like a horde of locusts, pushing all the way up his ramp and right into his living room.

Till this point I hadn't attacked with anything more than a handful of units. And it had been very cost effective. He had held the middle against a large attack force bound for his main or expansions, but by flying small tasks forces around him I was able to strike at his life line and eventually set him way back. At which point I made the large attack that he had been waiting for.

In the end Summer]n[exus died with honor.

I hoped you enjoyed my BattleReport. It isn't all in one big paragraph this time and maybe my screenshots will turn out OK.

Until next time...
