Races:I was Kushan,He chose Taiidan
We both started out more or less oposite one another.Being in full 3d neither of us could tell our exact positions.
I start out by building up 24 Minelayer Corvettes with another 40 Missile/Regular Destroyers and a pair of carriers and some Heavy Cruisers on the build,He starts out by building a massive fleet of Assault/Ion Cannon/Feild Frigates accompanied by an uncountabley large force of Missiles With Guns(We both use Scouts solely as kamikazes since they`re so cheap.)About a half an hour into the game we trade,He sends a bunch of salvage corvettes and a Carrier with two Destroyers,I do the same and trade 2 of my Destroyers and a Carrier for his two Destroyers and a Carrier.After that I "borrow" all the probes he sends over to me,another half an hour into the arms race we both build sensors arrays and learn each others exact locations,expecting him to hyper rush me with capital ships i build 12 Carriers and dispatch them all with heavy escorts to different parts of the map.Another half an hour later our build-up ends.
As hour three begins i have scouts and probes placed everywhere on the map and spot an incoming bomber rush,The mines i set earlier shred the incoming bombers and stop a potentially fatal rsh,he still costs me a carrier when he hyper rushes my South East Station with a Kushan MWG(Missiles With Guns.)rush out of nowhere.This however leaves his main MWG defense force drained,I hyper rush his Mothership with Destroyers and Cruisers.He costs my assault fleet 3 Destroyers and a Cruiser with MWG and Ion Cannon Frigate rushes but his Mothership finally hits the redzone and explodes,he still has my Carrier and one of his own though,so he`s still a serious threat.
After half an hour of non-stop MWG bombings and Hyper rushes his Taiidan carrier goes down in a blaze of glory taking 500 scouts and 8 Assault Frigates with it.Travis finally decides to try and wipe my mothership out with his entire remaining Kushan/Taiidan assault fleet.The attack succeeds but i still have a large force of Carriers and Super Capital ships,not to mention the cuntless fighters,corvettes and frigates the Carriers are churning out non stop.My Entire fleet,ALL ships,hyper in at once and mop up the remainder of his fleet.
All in all the game lasted for 4 hours with casualties extending far beyond 2000 ships.
Lessons learned
1:MWG rushes can be pretty wasteful.
2:Hyper-rushing is excellent for ambush attacks.
And 3:Mine-layer corvettes are a very good Anti-Ship defense in the early going. |
