"Just as the big smile hits my face I happen to glance back to my base. Hmmm. What the heck are ten mutas doing coming in over my probe line?" -AQD3

Map: Bloodbath (with extra min and gas)
Me: Zerg (bottom left)
Partner: Zerg (top right)
Enemy 1: Zerg (top left)
Enemy 2: Terran (bottom right)
A 64v64 map means zerg rules, right? So I pooled at 4 and rushed my terran enemy. My partner is a little slow, but np, because my lings are whooping ass. While I'm waiting for my other enemy to send some lings to the battle, my partner cries for help.
Mistake #1: With one enemy almost dead, I send no troops to my partner, thinking he can win a 1v1 battle with lings.
Mistake #2: I send my lings to enemy's main base to kill him, ignoring my partner's pleas for help.
My partner dies, and my enemy puts up sunkens. But I am relaxed, because my overlord is over his base and I can count his lings. I take the center with lings and make sure that I always outnumber 2 to 1. I own the center. I expand to top right. I tech to hydros and with twice the gas, am content to relax.
I tech to mutas. To guardians. All the while winning every battle in the center. Hey, I've got twice the min and gas. I get upgrades for everything. I plan to drop the guardian hammer.
Mistake #3: I did not build any more hatcheries.
Just as my first four guardians morph, something horrible happens. Lings swarm my hydras. Hydras kill my mutas and guardians. I scream at my enemy. He says that he had like 500 gas left.
I hope that the nightmares will stop. |
