It all started as a friendly conversation in our channel and then the next thing I knew we were flaming the hell out of each other. Finally Kinwarrior said that he would own Simons ass in a game, so we started it up on Lost Temple.

Kinwarrior vs (SimonSez)

Map: Lost Temple

Races: Kin-Terran (Simon)-Protoss

Kin started at the very top position, while (Simon) started at the left position. In the beginning both players went for base infantry defense, although terran was considerably more conservative by not even scouting.

Terran Protoss
8-Depot 7-Pylon
12-Barracks 10-Gateway
13-Barracks 12-Gateway
15-Depot
17-Gas

(Simon) took a considerably long amount of time before he went for gas, while Kinwarrior went for it around the 17th scv. Upon finding his enemy at the top position, (Simon) sent a band of 8 zealots at his terran enemy. However Kinwarrior was not a fool, and upon killing the probe, he was fast to construct a bunker at his choke. This deterred the zealots as (Simon) was not ready to sacrifice them in a fruitless attack. This move actually proved to hurt him, since Kin only had around 12 marines {including those in bunker} and the zealots could have run up the ramp and done major damage {he also did not block his ramp}.

Around his 20th scv Kin pulled a suprising move by starting a CC on his ledge. He sacrificed going tech against a possible reaver/dt attack by expanding. However (Simon) was not going for a fast attack, although reavers were in his plan. At (Simons) main a pair of stargates were being warped in, and zealot production had been replaced with dragoons. While both players remained mainly within the boundaries of their base for quite some time, (Simon) had added a robotics bay and Support while he started moving towards a Dragoon/Reaver/Corsair combo.

Meanwhile in Kinwarriors territory, he had gotten his expansion on the northwest island underway, although it had hovered stagnantly there for a while. On the tech side, Kinwarrior was also going for fast starports, and had not even added a machine shop. Keep in mind that not once had he scouted his opponent and thus he had no idea what to expect. Going for a fast expansion, and THEN fast air was at least, a huge risk. In due time, Kinwarriors' extremely risky strategy would be brought to light.

Back at the protoss base, (Simon) had expanded to his natural and in short notice had it set up just like his terran counterparts island. By now he had built up a sizable force of nearly 13 dragoons, 10 zealots, 6 corsairs, and 2 reavers. He also had added on an observatory, but had not produced any observers yet.

As it turned out, (Simon) would not need those observers. But he would need to attack, and SOON. Kinwarrior had operating, 3 starports, 2 armories, another fledgling expansion to his natural, and a science facility with a physics lab add-on . . . Our friend was going for none other than a cruiser rush. And he already had 2 freshly built to accomondate his small force of marines.

A corsair was sent to scout Kin, and met no resistance from turrets. But it did receive some from lasers. Upon seeing the 3 cruisers at 1/1, (Simon) began to build scouts back at his main. He would need to hurry though, for a new starport was being constructed, and as the first scouts rolled out, 6 cruisers were waiting for 3 more friends.

Finally after amassing 9 cruisers, Kinwarrior began to move down the right side of the map {his marines remained}, so that he could avoid the land, and then hit the Protoss expansion {he finally scouted with a pair of marines}. (Simon) was frozen has what to do when the cruisers began attacking his expansion for he only had 7 corsairs and 6 scouts. He decided to take the gamble and attack. From my viewpoint, this battle could have gone either way, but micromanagement from Kinwarrior saved his cruisers when he had them spread initially, and then focused on the individual scouts before taking on the corsairs. 5 corsairs fled the battle realizing that they were no match for the cruisers, and the expansion fell.

(Simon) took his reavers {in shuttle}, dragoons, and corsairs and began their journey towards the terran base. They met the resistance of 3 new cruisers and the marines. The home base cruisers could not withstand the combined firepower and 1 of them managed to escape off to the island. The 9 cruisers in Protoss territory conceded the mainland and natural expansion, knowing that the protoss had not yet found his island base. The cruisers went on to kill all the probes trying to escape, along with another shuttle trying to relocate a new main. The Protoss fleet may have destroyed the terran main, but in the end Kinwarrior came out on top after decimating his opponents base.

Sorry, but I had problems when I attempted to add pictures in, so I couldnt include them. Have a good day.
