So after looking around in nohunters for a while trying to get a game going, I finally found two people who agreed to let me BR. Oh well, enough with the intro. On we go to:

The map chosen was the lost temple. el_asesino chose terran and started at the 12 o'clock position. mza ended up at 6 with chosen zerg. el_asesino uses an orthodox build order as he goes rax on 8, depot, depot, rax. All the while, he is pumping out marines. mza on the hand, builds a hatch on 12 right next to his old hatch. I'm not sure whether this was for quicker mineral intake (the drones seemed to go a shorter distance, at least some of them) or was just playing it safe and not expanding at choke or natural. Next comes the spawning pool then extractor. el_asesino tries to catch mza early with 4 marines, but is stopped by 8 newly hatched zerglings. 2 marines manage to retreat back to el_asesino's base.

Minutes later, with a liar morphed in, and a den up, it was obvious mza was going for lurkers against terran, who have problems early against cloaked units. Meanwhile, el_asesino was busy making mass marines and sent 10 marines towards mza. A wandering ling found el_asesino's army about halfway across the map. mza, alerted of the impending strike, quickly started to morph 3 lurkers. To buy some time for her lurkers, mza kept sending out single lings to the oncoming army. This stalled the marines for a second or so each time, and the lurkers hatched after only a few seconds of the marines shredding their base. mza also quickly morphed two sunkens. By this time, el_asesino had received some more reinforcements in the form of a few medics and 6 marines or so. Through some bad micro (including not comsatting), el_asesino managed to be repelled without killing a building.

Nevertheless, all was not bad for el_asesino as he retreated with a few marines and managed to kill one of mza's ols.

el_asesino then teched with a factory and expanded to his natural. mza, on the other hand, had started a spire and an expansion of her own at her natural. mza also burrows some lurkers outside of el_asesino, to warn of and weaken any oncoming attack. el_asesino finally gets a starport and loads up 2 dropships with marines and medics and fly around to the back of mza's base. mza's 3 newly hatched mutas and a few hydras manage to kill one of the ships before it drops off all it's cargo, but nonetheless, the marines and medics manage to kill (well, mainly the marines managed to kill, the medics kinda just stood there with their magic healing wands) all the mutas and hydras and started taking out drones until they were finally killed by a pack of 8 or so lings.

On the other front, el_asesino begins a tank push, albeit with only one tank. His force of 12 marines, 2 medics, a tank, and a Science vessel start to pound on mza's expansion. As the marines move in and kill the drones, mza uses his mutas to kill the unprotected tank then finishing off the marines with zergling help.

At this point, el_asesino is starting his third CC, at the 3 o'clock main. mza's mutas go to the top right corner to harass el_asesino's expansion, but are pushed right by the turret there, which luckily points them to el_asesino's new expansion. The mutas attack it and 12 lings are sent in to finish it, but are cut off by red and he saves his expansion. el_asesino then turbo-newbies mza's expansion, but does not do much as mutas finish the tank and few marines. Two science vessels come and irradiate the mutas and end up killing 6 of the 7 mutas and taking no losses themselves.

mza then decides to MOVE two lurkers to el_asesino's base, but they are cut off midway by an approaching army of 20 or so marines and medics. mza is unable to burrow the lurkers before they are killed. mza tries another attack on el_asesino by sending another half-dozen mutas to the back of el_asesino's base (possibly to become guardians), but are intercepted by a fleet of cloaked wraiths and a science vessel (though the vessel didn't do much but watch). The wraiths then deposited themselves in the back of mza's base which was without detection after an ol was taken out. The wraiths managed to take out the burrowed lurkers and then got lazy and decloaked themselves and tried to kill everything in sight. Well, unfortunately for el_asesino, that takes a long time and shortly, mza gathered a group of hydras who killed all but one of the uncloaked wraiths in a mental lapse by el_asesino.

Having a huge mineral advantage, el_asesino simply replenished his wraith fleet. His army of marines and goliaths is patiently waiting outside mza's expansion, while he also drops a few goliaths on the cliff which harass mza's drones. mza's last hope are the 6 newly hatched guards which are shredded to pieces by the marines and the goliaths. At the same time, el_asesino's wraiths move in and slaughter all of mza's drones, and with no detection, drones, or anti-air left, mza realizes he is beat and concedes. GG's are exchanged. The final scores are:

Lessons learned:
1. Micro is important (el_asesino was great at macro, but a few mental mistakes with micro could have come back to haunt him)
2. Zerg needs to out-resource to win. With 3 mineral sources for terran vs. barely 2 for zerg, things are going to be tough
