The Disappointment of the Millenium!!!
Hello, everyone. This is my first BR, so cut me some slack (especially the judges…I love you guys =] ). This was of a shocking battle between the 4 greatest players in Bnet history…me (of course I am the best player in Bnet history =] ), Spikehair, The_Real_Me{AS}, and Silkk-{AS}- cuz I know all of them.

Footnote: Sorry to everyone who participated in this game if I got all the events mixed up (I blame it all on my overdoses of crack intake) and to all the readers of this BR because I have no pics…I wasn't expecting to write a BR (ever) on this game (on any game I've seen or played actually).

Well, I'll give you a little background of everyone before I start my booooooooooooring report of the actual game. We were all in channel Alpha 9 arranging a game. Spikehair (who takes on many names…which I am not allowed to tell anyone or else the police might find my chopped-up carcass in a porto-potty) was the trainer of a person I had just recently met on Bnet. Supposedly, he was, supposedly, supposed to be, supposedly, good with, supposedly, a highest rating, supposedly, of 1200+. We hadn't played with each other before, however. The_Real_Me{AS} was someone in Alpha Squad (yea…it's a clan, duh!), and most people in Alpha Squad said he was good too…but I don't think he plays ladder or anything like that. Silkk-{AS}- was one of my Bnet buddies, and we always play 2on2s with each other…or against each other for that matter. He's a big lagga though…he even lags as much as…well, no one lags as much as him…he lags as much as himself. But he is a well-rounded player and all of us use random. However…I have never met myself in person…so I was basically the unknown player.
The game, we decided, was going to be on…you guessed it! BGH!!! No, j/k…Lost Temple (uhh…I hate this map, so many imbalances)! It was me and SpikeHair vs. Silkk and The_Real. I'm not completely, certainly, undoubtedly, 100% sure, but I think we all randomed. It turned out that me and SpikeHair were both zerg and they were both terran. I was at the top position, The_Real bagged the right area, SpikeHair got the bottom, and Silkk ended up with the left position. We were all far from our partners.
I know you're thinking right now…2 Zerg would just whoop 2 Terran's ass right? Oh…2 Terran would 2 Zerg's ass, you say??? Well, I agree with you considering that two terran can just double bunker one opponent and double tank push…easily taking one person out…but today I felt like changing the rules a little bit.
Early on, it was all up to me. Spikehair died to SCV and medic rushes and they both had about 18 bcs skipping infantry and mech units altogether…j/k (whoever believed me must be reading this BR from the mental institute or Silkk, himself, may be reading this =] ). We were both going early economy considering terran take a little slower to pump out enough troops to be too dangerous. SpikeHair opted for a double hatchery build and then to hydras, while I was feeling a little crazy and executed my patented, reliable triple hatchery build. I set up one hatchery at my gas natural (though the top start location sux) and another sneaky hatchery at my mineral natural (the one place in LT where most people neglect to explore…especially if they see you early on already expanding to your gas natural).
The early expanding proved extremely wise. Soon before my pool was finished…came the first marine from The_Real who attacked my gas natural. While my pool was building, I built an extractor and sent two drones on it. A few seconds later his marines died and my zerglings (forgot how many) tried for a counterattack, only to meet two bunkers. It was pretty obvious that they were attempting to bunker me in, so SpikeHair tried to counter The_Real, but his zerglings got spanked harder than Silkk gets spanked by his chimp every night. The only wise choice for us was to do a lurker drop before they could prepare for one.
That day I was feeling a little cheap…so while they kept coming closer with bunkers…and The_Real sieged tanks on his cliff, so that they could attack anything that hit the bunkers and turrets…I was planning on doing a cheapass, slow Overlord drop where I place an Overlord near the opponent's cliff, load up units, and then drop really quickly. I had upgraded my main hatchery to a lair, morphed a hydra den, and was researching lurkers and ventral sacs for my lovable friends, the Overlords. All of my bases were nearly full of drones. Which gave me a lot of resources. Silkk wasn't doing too much right now besides scanning us (and he tried hitting me with assorted infantry), and SpikeHair was just a tad bit behind. Finally when the researching was done, I loaded up my two lurkers into my Overlord and set off for The_Real's mineral line. I was pumping hydras off…I think like 4 or 5 hatcheries.
The_Real evidently had expected a lurker drop (there were turrets all around the top area of his base), but I found a niche in the very topright area where my slow Overlord could drop (did I mention I was upgrading Overlord speed, so that my Overlords would be little bit faster). My two lurkers burrowed with ease near the comsat, but somehow…he managed to kill the lurkers with his resieged tanks and some annoying scans. The drop failed but at The_Real's expense, and it slowed down the bunkering.
SpikeHair, relatively unscathed, followed up my drop with a moderate hydra drop, but The_Real fended it off (I don't know how). Alas, I had lots of men, so SpikeHair and I dropped The_Real to the point of oblivion. While this was happening, my men at my mineral natural attacked The_Real's bunkering and his front entrance and managed to take them out (most of their bunkers were empty by that time). The_Real was nearly dead, and luckily for him, most of his vital buildings made it to Silkk's base where he could rebuild. With our recent victory…we were all teching up a bit. SpikeHair was planning on going - quote me on this - "hydro queens," and I had built three evolution chambers to upgrade fast and simultaneously. That's when Silkk pulled off his first major move of the decade (finally). He dropped about 32 marines and medics in my main where it was lightly defended to drops (I didn't think Silkk would actually DO something, considering his lack of…btw, I play ladder games for him =] ). My men were scattered a bit, and I had forgot to build some new hydras (stupid me =Þ ) I quickly morphed some hydras into lurkers while my remaining hydras…like 12 - 15…tried to stall the stimmed marines. When my lurkers were done, I killed like the remaining 20 or so infantry. He had managed to take out two of my three evolution chambers, my hydra den, and my lair (or hive, I can't remember). While I was remorphing my structures, I felt the need for greed, so I expanded more and more. Well…Spikehair's "hydro queen" strat must have been pretty powerful cuz he got his ass dropped by Silkk, and he begged me for help. My 3 control groups of hydras helped him. I was feeling quite lazy about then, so I attempted to hit Silkk…didn't work cuz of his gay ass defense (imagine tanks on plateau, tanks on ground, and tanks on cliff, with bunkers and turrets too). As a counter retaliation attack, he dropped me again (and it was quite evident that he was getting poor…cuz there were only marines this time). The drop set me back again…but it was no biggie. I countered Silkk's attack by preparing Overlords full of lurkers and hydras. All I've got to say is, that Silkk builds way too much defense. My Overlords had floated over to SpikeHair's base at the bottom and were looking for an opening to Silkk's base, but the edges were loaded with turrets and marines. Silkk wanted to be a bastard, so he sent all his wraiths out trying to kill my Overlords. I think he killed one before my Overlords reached SpikeHair's ragtag, pitiful group of hydras J. I tried against this time, but with 3 empty overlords to draw turret and marine fire. I had bad micro and my three decoys went too early, so my real Overlords got quite an asswhooping, but most of them got their cargo out (poor ovies L). I started ripping apart his main base, one by one. When I felt I was ready to take Silkk out (and The_Real too…he was mining from Silkk's mineral only natural), I dropped 7 lurkers on Silkk's cliff, killing the tank there and hitting some fringe buildings and scvs. His tank on flat ground was hitting my lurkers, so I backed them up. Well, my Overlords were bored, so being the mean tyrant I am and I always will be, I refilled them with hydras and came back.
Footnote: I drove past Silkk and The_Real's defense so much…I shoulda paid them a toll =].
Any ways, exactly as hinted, I dropped the hydras in Silkk's gas natural where the tanks couldn't reach and past his bunkers. There were probably about 2 control groups of hydras…they razed the expansion pretty quick. His tanks were still bothering me (killing some hydras wandering too close to the tanks), so I just charged them up the ramp and gang raped the bunker and tank(s) up there. Let's review: I am killing Silkk's main base from the inside, and I have taken out Silkk's gas expansion, cliff defense, and plateau defense as well. Then it was time for the last charge. I mercilessly finger banged my hydras till they all rampaged suicidally into Silkk and The_Real's tough, front defense. The entirety of their bases easily fell. Then, much to my disappointment, they wanted to ally…I need wins for GOSHDAMMIT!
Well, I easily had the most points that game (forgot what were the scores…it's the crack's fault, remember), and it was disappointing that two terran lost so bad to two zerg, but when you got skills like me, it doesn't matter =]. But this game provides many helpful tips and strategies…and even more pointless tips and suicidal strategies. And here they are:
1. Using a three hatchery build order vs. terran is usually effective.
2. For a fast drop without wasting money on Overlord speed, just keep an Overlord near an opponent's base and then load units from there.
3. As long as you keep dropping terran, they usually can't keep up with all the micro involved with both defending their base from a surprise drop and tank pushing, etc.
4. DO something if your partner is being singled out. This includes: counterattacking, helping, expanding, etc.
5. Rebuild important buildings quickly if they are lost.
6. Especially for zerg newbies: build LOTS of hatcheries…pump men from at least 3-4 hatches off one base, 4-6 off 2 bases, and 5-8 off 3 bases.
7. If you have a shortage of money, EXPAND…even if you still have like 2 bases still running (you should expand constantly).
8. Use decoys to draw fire.
9. I could go on and on…so, basically, just be like me J.
GG, SpikeHair, Silkk-{AS)--, The_Real_Me{AS}, and ME!!! You all played great (shudder). Of course, we played a rematch, and this time we lost cuz SpikeHair was Terran and absolutely stunk (it's his worst…by far). And of course, I hope all you ppl, who have taken their time to read this BR right now enjoyed it. And I hope that all you illiterate, Silkk wannabes - who just scrolled down to the bottom of this BR, looking for pictures and not finding some cuz you obviously didn't read the introduction and have finally read some part of my BR to find out why there ain't no pics - learn how to read =].
Footnote: Give me a freaking 10!!!
