XenoNova.

Rivalry
The game began
with me in Nohunters. I was enjoying a SnowDay on B.net
when The.Confessor entered the channel. I had done a BR
with him in it last time, and he had lost. I asked him if
he'd like to do a 1v1 and get some revenge and he
heartily agreed. We finally got this guy named XenoNova
to join the game and clash with The.Confessor. Truly one
of these two was the THE GREAT PUMPKIN KING. . The game began with
both players drawing Zerg. The.Confessor had spawned in
the lower Right hand corner and just opposite him, his
opponent XenoNova in the lower Left corner. And so began
the struggle and the celebration which we today know as "THE DAY THE GREAT
PUMPKIN KING WAS DECIDED BY PLAYING STARCRAFT AGAINST
SOMEONE WHO ALSO THOUGHT HE WAS THE GREAT PUMPKIN
KING" .
. As we all know, this is America's most celebrated
holiday.
The initial
builds of both players looked somewhat the same with The.Confessor going for an early second
hatchery at his ramp and XenoNova erecting the same in his base. Now the
builds diverged with Confessor getting gas and also morphing 6
zerglings. Xeno , finding The.Confessor's base with his scouting
Overlord sees the 6 zerglings which are now heading down
the ramp and forgoes gas for 3 sunken colonies.
The.Confessor's 6 hell spawn arrive a
little too late, despite their destroying one sunken
before completion. Xeno morphs 6 zerglings of his own and manages
to chase away the Orange menace with the help of his two remaining
sunkens, but just as he was getting ready to mop up the
remaining lings, a tentacle juts from the ground and one
of his drones explodes. He glances at his mineral line
and sees a completed orange sunken colony. His drones
take heavy damage before he gets them away, and sends in
his own zerglings. Xeno manages to destroy the structure and
resume his mining operation, but at the cost of The.Confessor erecting a third hatchery
at his natural. Seeing this with his Overlord, Xeno knows he must do
something to slow down the inevitable tech jump and his
ensuing demise. He selects 12 zerglings and attack moves
towards Confessor's base. He finds a naked
hatchery guarded by 4 zerglings. They quickly retreat up
the ramp and The.Confessor can only watch as his
expansion's drones are ripped to pieces. Here Xeno makes a critical mistake,
however, and runs his raging zerglings past the expansion
hatchery and into the main, hoping to end the game and
seal his rightful place as THE GREAT PUMPKIN KING. His small army
does
not get free reign of the base, though, as they meet with
6 of The.Confessor's own zerglings. Xeno manages to win this
skirmish, but now his forces are severly depleted. He
continues on to the drone line anyway and there finds 4
drones and 2 more zerglings waiting. He fights to the
last, but The.Confessor wins out and maintains
his expansion and his gas economy. Xeno now realizes that he must
tech quickly and possibly match the air attack that looms
in his mind. He gets gas up and running and erects a
hatchery at his own natural. The.Confessor has not forgotten lying bleeding in the
darkness and cold this soon however. He gets up from his
near defeat and promptly sends 18 of his own zerglings
towards XenoNova's base. This small force
passes by Xeno's newly morphed hatchery
and heads up the ramp. There they meet their deaths
before even touching a building. Two sunkens and 8 of Xeno's own zerglings meet the
attackers and make quick work of them. Both players
abandon offense now and tech like the THE GREAT PUMPKIN KINGS they are. Here Xeno makes
another risky move and starts an expansion in the upper
Left main. Would this large investment work for his
benefit? That would soon be answered for The.Confessor now had a spire morphing
and Xeno had a Hydralisk den. The
race was on.
The.Confessor proved the swifter,
however, as his spire finished and 6 mutalisks were
immediately morphed. Also, The.Confessor sent two zerglings out across the map to
scout any expansion attempts by Xeno. Confessor moved his force of 24
zerglings and 6 mutas to the lower bridge of XenoNova's natural expansion. Xeno made the first move and
sent in his 24+ zerglings. The fight ensued and although Xeno did good damage but the
muta splash was too much and his remaining zerglings were
forced to retreat to his expansion and his sunkens. The.Confessor's zerglings did not
follow suit as the sunkens would surely defeat them, but
the mutas charged right into the main and razed the
mineral line. Xeno, knowing that he had to
act now or perish morphed 6 hydralisks. This proved vain
in the end as more mutalisks arrived to take part in the
chaos. His main fell quickly as did his natural
expansion. His only asset now was a morphing hatchery in
the upper Left corner. This desperate attempt at rebirth
was soon discovered by The.Confessor ,however, and his lone scout zergling
spelled the demise of XenoNova. GGs were offered to one another and The.Confessor took his rightful place
