| Fatboy vs. Goldboy ZvZ | | | Author: | | | IP: | 1Cust122XXXX | | Date: | 03/03/00 04:03 | | Game Type: | Starcraft | | Labels: | none | | Report Rating: , # of Ratings: 0, Max: , Min: Lifetime Rating for {DD}Fatboy: 4.3571 | | On a lonely Friday afternoon, when none of my friends were home, I was on my desk quietly doing some math homework, when suddenly, an unseen force took over. In the middle of an algebra problem, I suddenly had a blood lust for Starcraft. Dropping my pencil, I rushed to my computer and logged on to Bnet. (I know I know, gay intro, but it was the best I could think of).
Wandering aimlessly around in the pubbie games, I only found one non Bgh game, which I was promptly booted out of because I had too many wins. Feeling the frustration building up, I knew I needed to satisfy my blood lust and soon. So I entered nohunters. I immediatly asked arond for a 1v1, and Boygold~ (which we will now call gold) whispered me, accepting my challenge.
Map: The no longer lost temple.
Players: {DD}Fatboy (random zerg) vs. Boygold~ (chosen zerg).
I found my gooey zerg hatchery at 3:00, and I sent my overlord immediatly to 12:00. Knowing that gold was zerg, I altered my usual build of 9 hatchery at ramp followed by a pool, to 9 pool than hatchery. As soon as my pool was halfway done, I discovered creep at 12:00, as well as a spawning pool finishing. Soon, my pool finished and his overlord arrived at my base (he sent his out a little later than me because I went random) right when my 6 zerglings popped out. Nothing happened for awhile, until I got 12 zerglings and charged into his base. I found a morphing hatchery at his choke as well as some zerglings. Using some baiting tricks, I managed to kill about 10 zerglings while only losing 4. Charging up, I managed to reduce the hatchery to 80 hits before reinforcing zerglings killed mine.
After this, I started cranking lings as well as starting gas. As soon as I accumulated 100 gas, I started morphing my lair. As soon as I had 24 lings, I sent them to his base again. This time though, he had a sunken in addition to his 15 some lings, so I pulled back. After my lair finished, I starting morphing a lair, hoping to win the game with mutas. We played tag with out zerglings a bit, him trying to lure me into sunken range. Finally when my spire finished, I starting morphing mutas. Unfortunetly, Gold had gotten his spire first and was killing my lings. Quickly using my remaining gas, I morphed 4 scourge.
As Gold' mutas entered my town, he managed to kill an overlord with his 6 mutas before my scourge and 4 mutas were able to kill them without any losses (cloning scourges is a good thing) Waiting for my 3 reinforcing mutas to arrive, I sent the 7 mutas to his town. Once there, I killed 5 mutas and starting raping his hatchery. He hatched about 24 lings and sent them to my base as a last resort, but I had 8 lings blocking my ramp, and I sent my mutas back to assist (now numbering 8) When, his zergling force died, Gold conceded.
Lessons Learned:
1.Muta/ling works awesome against zerg. If I had gotten hydras instead, his own force of muta/ling would've raped them.
2.ZvZ games are ususally short, so I usually never bother expanding unless my opponent turtles.
3.My reports suck.
4.If Gold had morphed some scourge, they would've swung the game dramaticlly, because he had a much stronger economy than me.
This game was probaly not worth reporting, but this was one of the first times I won as zerg :) Usually in ZvZ, I go muta ling, only to find that my opponent already has devouer guardian. My zerg sucks shit, and this game was a rare occasion when I actully won, so I had to report it :) |
