1 v 1 Temple
Me (Random=Prot) @ 9 spot
Him(Random=Zerg) @ 12 spot

(Note: This is a long post w/o pics, sorry! Oh, and my punctuation is horrendous ;-))

I wasn't aware that this would be a good game so sorry, I have no pics cept for the final stats, and I left those out. I created this game hoping to find someone rated better then the sub-1000 people that I have been playing. I was in luck with someone 1100+ joining. The game begins with a me going, 8 pylon then gateway on 11. As I scouted I found the enemy had spawned zerg. I had only one gate and fearing a ling rush I went forge instead of my second gate (Gonna tech I decide). Well I decide to check for a expand at natural I find one morphing. I try to cannon the expand and rally my gate there. With the zeal 1/2 way a drone finds the 1 warping cannon and attacks it. He shows some micro by moving the drone away from the probe and keeps attacking the cannon. With the zeal 1/2 there the probe is killed by 6-8 lings and I am forced to cancel the cannon and retreat the zeal. A little disappointed about letting the expansion get up and not having a sizable force to take it, I decide... to double nexus!! I warp a nexus at my gimme and throw 2 cannons up on my ledge to aid my now 2 zeals. At this point a wave of lings come calling. My zeals are overwhelmed ( I hadn't built more because of the expansion), and about 3-4 lings make it. He again manages to micro so that he moves his lings whenever I get to them, and continues to attack the nexus. Eventually I am able to clear lings and have 2-3 zeals and the cannons before his next wave comes. This attack is thwarted w/o a loss and I get the message, "You must like cannons". Considering I only had two I didn't think much about it.

Here's where I won the game. Figuring he would not go lurkers, since I had cannons, I gambled on him going for muties. I build 1 starport and had 6-7 cors when he brings in about 10 muties. Unfortunately for him he tried to bring them in from the south, exactly where my starport was. ;-) Needless to say I have 6-7 cors left to 0 muties- btw- I had one attack upgrade. At this point he asks if I am cheating, I assure him I don't and unlike so many people he believes me and says that he wasn't accusing. Well now he knows I have cors, so I figure he'll probably go devos I build another starport and begin scouts. I send my cors in for some recon and encounter some hydra and a greater spire coming.

I decide to expand to the 6 spot and build a bunch of cannons. I build them so that it is impossible for more than 2-3 hydra to attack any of them. About this time he messages, "Mid game is hard to recon this map because of chokes." I began to worry that he had found my new expansion and began to build dt's and zeals and upgrading them. Well he hadn't found it... YET! He sends some lings out checking and finds my new money pit. I send all the troops I have and encounter about 18-24 hydra and mixed lings. I am able to take them out and he is forced to retreat. I then send the remaining to the 9 start and find he has an expansion in full swing there... and about 7-8, maybe more sunkens. I begin an expansion at top left. I then attempt another sweep of my cors on his main only to confront 7-8 devos. YIKERS!!! I retreat and bring my 4-5 speed upgraded and now 2 attack upgraded scouts. I have about 12 cors and 4-5 scouts when he finds my expansion at top left and levels it. I dare not attack considering he has like 12+ muties and all them devos. So I send my cors to his main thinking I could snag a few lords while his troops were away. I hit the jackpot, 8-10 gaurds and nothing else.... I left 3-4 guards and lost 1-2 corsairs. I then put another starport up and had 2 more scouts. The epic battle takes place here... He sends a wave of some 6 or so guards + muties + devos in to my natural. I begin my micro with the scouts focussing on the devos while the corsair I left alone. I also began warping more cors. I had to retreat to my batteries one time, but in the end I had 2-3 scouts and 9-10 cors to his dead air.

I now expanded to top left again and begin pumping zeals and carriers. The only reason I ever built them darn carriers was I had SO much money coming in I couldn't spend it quick enough. I sent wave after wave of zeals to the 3 expansion and 12 upgraded zeals can really dish out some damage. Each time 4 or so sunkens would fall, eventually enough muties showed up and I retreated the zeals. I then send all my zeals in the front of his main while my 7-8 carriers+ scouts+ cors came in the back. The zeals were killed by hydra, but the air made short work of his main.

At this point he called a gg and left. I have never been in a land game where so much depended on air. He would micro his muties to separate, but using a trick I got from Shockwave, I would retreat my cors and attack forcing the muties to bunch again. The game lasted over and hour and in the end I had pumped more troops than the zerg... how often does that happen? I was also suprised by how much he had resourced, only a few 1000 less than me. Oh well, sorry for the long post, the main point was to tell about how protoss can take advantage of a 2x hatch zerg by expanding themselves.

Hope this gets higher than a 4, that's all I ask. ;-)

Btw- No way am I trying to sway the judges, but I DID click the manner 6546132684 times. ;-p

CYA!
