I had just logged on Battle.net and into nohunters on a Sunday morning for some Starcraft to wake me up. Upon entering nohunters, I saw grimling msg me to BR one of his games. Well, why not:) Grimling started spamming for a 1v1 and MaitreMordicus responded. The game was created, and I, along with 2 other observers joined. MaitreMordicus was rated 1228 on the laddar, and Grimling was rated 1184, so I knew this would be a good game.

The Map: The Lost Temple
The Players: MaitreMordicus, randomed to toss at 3:00 vs. Grimling, randomed to terran at 12:00.

Hm... Terran at 12:00 versus a toss. Grimling might be in for a tough game... The game started with both players opening with an almost identical build order:
8:depot/pylon
10:rax/gateway
12:depot/pylon

At this point, Grimling's wall-in had finished and he started working on what looked like heavy metel. MaitreMordicus on the other hand, warped in an assimialator and core, aiming for goon containment. With both players bulding up, nothing happened for awhile, until MaitreMordicus got some goons and tried to cause some mischeif. Here we see MaitreMordicus trying to break the wall-in, but the the defence easily holds. However, MaitreMordicus's goons move out of range of the bunker and start pounding on the supply depot. Grimling quickly pulls some scvs away from mining duty and has them repair the beseiged depot. As more and more goons pour in, Grimling seems to be in trouble, but once the first tank pops out, it seiges up and starts bitchslapping the robitic spider like thinges. The goons retreat, and start playing containment. MaitreMordicus takes advantage of this containment and expands to the 6:00 main. Grimling feels secure with the tank in place, and starts constructing some starports. However, after a quick glance at MaitreMordicus's base I gasped in horrer as I reilized that MaitreMordicus had been teching the whole time! It seemed like the protoss was constructing the ultimate terran infantry killers; dark templars and reavers. Grimling has a couple of wraiths at this point, but absolutly no detection. Soon the reavers and dark templars drop near Grimling's scv line. The reaver manages to get one shot off before dying to wraiths. However, the dark templars are blitzing the engineering bay and Grimling makes a dire mistake here and does not lift off his bay. He does manage to construct one turrent before the engineering bay collapses. The two dark templar whack down another depot before being lured into range of the turrent by a scv. A tank shell blast hits one dark templar, and gauss rifle fire finishes it. The other ninja-like unit runs his shadowy ass off and manages to escape detection with ome hit point! This dark templar starts slicing away at Grimling's wall-in. During the confusion, MaitreMordicus expands simoultaneously to both the 6:00 natrual and the 9:00 natrual! The lone dark templar might have accomplished a lot more if microed, but Grimling must have spent at least 200 minerals repaiting the barracks before a turrent came online. MaitreMordicus is not outresourcing Grimling 3:1, and can afford multiple drops on the terrans until MaitreMordicus finally manages to drive Grimling from his main.

Grimling decides not to give up, and floats all the buildings he can to top left. During the attacks, MaitreMordicus manages to expand in almost every exp spot! At this point, the game is practically over, and MaitreMordicus just masses a ton of scouts and shuttles. Soon, MaitreMordicus drops the hammer and attacks with 8 scouts and 6 goons. The goons were killed by the scvs, but the scouts slowly blasted away the entire terran "base". GG's were exchanged, and Grimling graciously surrendered the game. (Take a look at the minimap, you'll notice that almost all expansion nodes are orange.)

Lessons Learned
1.No matter what anyone says, and no matter how good the strats Heartcutter posts are, I still beleive that toss ownz terran. (no offence to heartcutter, his strats are awesome and I use them every game when I'm terran)
2.First game I saw in a long time without a single templar!
3.As in one of my previous reports, if a toss outresources a terran, the game is almost definetly over.
4.Grimling is one tough player that never gives up until every single one of his buildings have been erridicated.
