The great POOH fight

FIRST OF ALL...........THIS WILL BE VERY SLOW LOADING (LOTS OF PICS). I was just hanging out in my clan channel (TH) around midnight one day, when the channel was invaded by the no other than Winnie The Pooh and the gang. Four people named Winnie-Da-Pooh, ChristoferRobin, Tigger~, and Eyore~ merrily chatted away about their latest feats. Who knew these guys where such hard core SC players? I think I saw the words scv rush, carrier rush, and 4 pool, but my sight might have been blurry by then from a lack of sleep and 4 hours of SC. Anyway, as my skills diminished more and more the later it got, I figured I’d just do a Battle Report……………..my first one ever. So don’t be too harsh in your critique………….or be harsh…………………I can take it. I am doing this at my job at school. My boss said to create some SQL script for our SQL-Server database, but I figured that this is more important. Life is all about priorities you know J

So I invited the Pooh gang to join a game. I made the game and picked i2e2 Rivalry as the map (sorry to all you fanatic Temple fans). Rivalry is a 4 player map with each starting location in a corner and a ramp leading up to each starting position. There is a close natural and various bridges to connect the rest of the map (I am sure you all know the map, but it is included just in case some BGH/Hunters nazi should read this).

They all go random and we end up with 3 zerg and 1 toss. So, as you can see from the above map, Winnie-Da-Pooh (white zerg – will be green in this report) and Tigger~ (purple zerg) teamed up against Eyore~ (orange toss) and ChristoferRobin (brown zerg).

Winnie Greets us all as the game starts…………….

Tigger~ goes with a pool before 2^nd hatch, while both ChristoferRobin and and Winnie himself does what seems to be a power Hydra start. 2 hatches, pool, 3^rd hatch. Eyore~ goes double gateway opening.

Then as the opening minutes go by we get this great request from tigger:

All the zergs have been scouting with an OL and Tigger’s OL finds the happy base of Eyore~ as she is warping in an extractor. Is Eyore~ going towards the zerg killer named psi storm? Or maybe reaver tech? I guess stay tuned for the somewhat obvious answer.

At this time Tigger~ takes the first offensive of the game. He sends his freshly hatched group of 8 lings and sends them into the unguarded base of ChristoferRobin (that guy is just too friendly). The lings kills 3-4 drones before the amazing spitting drones and 4 of Christofer’s newly hatched lings join the battle and easily kill of Tigger’s threat.

As soon as Christofer’s drones are back to their mining duties, Eyore and Christofer counter on Tigger. They send in 5 zealots and 4 lings. Tigger has a few lings at his ramp and manages to kill 2 zeals……however, the 3 others zeals and 4 lings tear up his hatch by the ramp.

Winnie-Da_pooh is powering too much to send much help, and he is also too far away to anu good. So Tigger’s hatches 10 lings and kills of the threat by himself……Christofer and Eyore were both targeting the hatch though, and it exploded in a pool of blood. Who ever said Eyore was timid????

At this time Eyore starts warping in a StarGate to use Corsairs to kill any stray OL’s and to do some scouting. At the same time Winnie-Da-Pooh expands to the 6 o’clock expoansion and makes his first offensive move of the battle. He brings about 2 control groups of hydras towards Eyore’s base. However as he is soon to find out, Eyore is in possession of High templars with psi storm. So Winnie pulls back across the bridege to guard his expansion.

Winnie shows of his ability to observe the obvious with this comment:

Off course the friendly soul og ChristoferRobin has not been idle either. He has expanded to his natural and now brings 12 hydras to attack Winnie from the back. So Winnie is sandwiched in between Goons, Zeals, and storm from one side while Hydras attack from the other. Some amazing Hydra dancing that would qualify Winnie for the Dirty dancing convention allows him to kill of the protoss threat as well as Christofer’s hydras. ChristoferRobin turns out to be less friendly than expected though as he kills of Winnie’s expansion before his hydra group dies.

Winnie, angered by Christofer’s brutal attack and those damn (Winnie said Darn, but I am taking some literary freedom here) High Templars he sends in 2 more control groups of hydras towards Eyore’s base. After more dirty dancing he makes Eyore cancel his warping nexus and Eyore’s troops retreat to the safety of the ramp.

Again, ChristoferRobin sends about 12 hydras to help out Eyore, and they are successful in making Winnie retreat and make a new expansion at the 6 o’clock position. During all the confusion Tigger has expanded to his natural. Unfortunately there are no defenses present yet when Christofer’s Hydras march is. Tigger desperately send all his hydras at Christofer’s group and 2 sunkens start to develop. But it is too late…………….his expansion dies and he kills of many of Tigger’s un-upgraded (shame on you Tigger) hydras as well.

Meanwhile, Eyore finally claims her natural, while Winnie-Da-Pooh Maynards his excess drones over to the 6 o’clock expansion.

Winnie also warns that ChristoferRobin’s overlords are speedy and ready to go. At that time Eyore’s dreaded high templars join in and storms most of Winnies drones along with a few hydras. The rest of the hydras kill of the threat, but the damage to Winnie’s economy has been done. Will he be able to come back?

Now Winnie-Da-Pooh expands to his natural (yeah…..he finally did it) and ChristoferRobin exopands to the 9 o’clock. Winnie’s earlier warning of a drop becomes a reality as Christofer drops 4 loads of hydras into Winnie’s 6 o’clock. At the samne time that evil Eyore brings in high templars from the other side and they wipe out Winnie’s expansion in no time. Winnie’s hydras could just not dance their way out of this one.

Seeing ChristoferRobin’s hydras all tied up way down in Winnie’s bases, Tigger’s sends all his hydras at Christofer’s natural. He kills of most of the drones, but then Christofer’s 2-2 upgraded hydras join in and finish the 0-1 hydras of Tigger (note to Tigger, upgrades might help)

At the same time it was getting very late at night and I missed Eyore and Christofer finish off Winnie’s natural. I did catch a screen of Winnie trying to long distcnce mine though.

But as you can see a Zealot and a templar is there to put and end to that very inefficient way of collecting minerals.

So Winnie has no minerals and no expansion Tigger has his natural, but for some reason he placed the hatch very far away. Was it to give those lazy drones more of a workout? I dunno, but was it smart?

With Winnie-Da-Pooh out of the game ChristoferRobin and Eyore expands and contains. Will Tigger pull something out of his A**? The answer is below……………Yes, that is an arbiter, and Yes that is recall. That is what happens when you can tech undisturbed.

Winnie realizes that it is all over, but the crying,
