One day, -MrCow- happily logged on to channel nohunters, to go spamming
for a game to BR. Unfortunately, he found only 10 people in the channel
and 3 of them being bots. He then went on to channel clan -x17 but they
had very few people too. Sighing, he returned to his beloved nohunters
channel and waited for a few people to show up. Maitremordicus was
already in the channel and shortly, November~rain strolled along in as
well. -MrCow- then started spamming for a game to watch and Maitermordicus
called to his request. The map was to be lost temple (god damn, I swear
I won't ever watch another Temple match again!!!) and
Maitermordicus drew terran at 9, while
November~rain drew protoss at 3. The game is underway, so let's
go!
Maitermordicus decided to do a weird temple
wall-in and go for gas after his 2nd depot. Rain
decided to use the standard toss build, pylon, gateway, gateway,
pylon, then a cybernetics core, then gas while the cybernetics was building.
Ironically enough, Maitermordicus sent Deon out
to scout 12 at the same time November~rain
decided to send a probe out to scout 12. Both players found each other
at the same time and Maitermordicus exclaimed,
"Yes! this is my favorite matchup." (However, both players' peons die, but
at different times).
Maitermordicus
decides to go the tech route and heads in the direction of
heavy metal with a double factory.
November~rain had some weird plan that
I guess only he and his own little heart knows what the hell he was
doing. He had decided to go early dragoons against the oncoming heavy
metal for some reason and out of 2 gateways as well.
Maitermordicus came out with a third factory and started making
tanks and vultures like a madman. He mobilized his army of about 5
vultures, 4 tanks and 1 SCV and camped outside at
Rain's natural.
Maitermordicus starts laying spider mines
around his tanks like a protective perimeter. He sieges his tanks and
begins to build a missile turret for detection against dark templar that
never really made the journey from Shakuras. Rain,
sensing he is in deep trouble, decides to go for more dragoons and build
a forge (Ah...so that's why he didn't have cannons...). At the same time,
Maitermordicus already has built a starport,
a dropship, and fully loaded it with 4 vultures to do some damage in the
enemy probe line. This is what happens. Rain
wisely pulls back his probes from mining and waits for his dragoons to kill
the pests, which they do successfully, but not before quite a few probes
are taken out.
However, with a major threat below the ramp, how will
Rain pull off the greatest magic trick ever to avoid being trampled
over by the terran forces? He does have a robotics facility with an observatory,
but as Mark4 found out in the World War III Free-For-Alls, you can't micro
an observer to victory. So instead, Rain
decides to expand to the top island. Maitermordicus
, already took the opportunity to expand to 2 places, his natural,
and the 6 o'clock main. He gets them both operational, and in the meantime,
conflicts take place between the 2 forces at the ramp.
One quick scan and 7 tanks below is not good news for dragoons and zealots
above. 1 cannon goes up in smoke and a few dragoons get turned into mush.
Rain decides to pull back his dragoons.
Maitermordicus is now pumping heavy metal units from
7 factories. Yes 7 factories! 4 of them at his natural without machine
attachments, and 3 of them in his main pumping out tanks.
Rain at this time, decided to put up 2 stargates
and a Fleet Beacon at his expansion for corsair (?) to take down dropships.
November~rain finally
put up a templar archives and produced 2 templar right before the onslaught
of about 9 tanks and 6 vultures. Maitermordicus
charged up the ramp with his attack force, and sieged his tanks. He laid
spider mines everywhere around the ramp, so that if you looked on the minimap,
one would think that they were sharing one base. Now,
Maitermordicus started systemattically taking out
November~Rain's base. Maitermordicus also
found the protoss island expansion at the top-left corner, and properly delt with it.
Needless to say, Maitermordicus was clearly the
victor at this point, and seeing everything was hopeless,
November~Rain through in the towel and conceded. Thank you for
reading this very short battlereport, and I hoped you enjoyed it.
