"Last in line was Advisor "CB". His nickname was based on "Cattlebruiser", although none of the men were quite sure where the name had come from. Some infantrymen whispered that it came from a particularly bad night back home involving thirteen shots of whiskey, a herd of cattle, and a twenty-two year-old Animal Husbandry major. Others swore on the fact that a bloody cow's head was hung in his locker, a testament of what would happen to the men if they ever got out of line. Whatever the case, CB was fiercely competent." -~CattleBruiser~

------------------------------------------------
As I generally suck in build-up maps, I worked my way slowly(6 Drones, Spawning pool, overlord, 6 lings, more drones...)
While Yellow worked on getting several gateways up. First ling rush of 18 got its... erm... whatever the lings use when they've eaten too much and need to take a dump... anyway, this prompted me to build a series of sunken colonies.
Red, however, was a fast-azz builder, and got about his 4th hatch by the time I got my second, along with lotsa other stuff.
After my first three sunks came, got a rush of about 12 zeals. Easy enough to take out, cuz I had a pack of 10 lings on hand, but about 8 of em tried to blindside my drones. Didnt work, cuz they were trying to attack individual drones. About 5 of em croaked 'fore they caught on.
I put up another three sunks above my farthest right one, as I started my Den, Lair, Spire, and Queen's nest.
Partner was busy teching his way up while constantly annoying Teal with hydrasaults.
Soon as I could, I began mass production of Mutas, soon to become guardians. Once they popped out of their second cocoons, they began wreaking havoc on Yellows nearly completely undefended right flank. About 15 Guardians worked there before they finally all died off.
About this time, wasnt paying attention, I was like holy crap, as I had like 4000 minerals and 2000 gas in storage.
Set up another 5 hatcheries as my partner barked at me to drop hydras in on Yellows nexus area.
Another 200 Hydras later, Yellow base became innefective.
Yellow expansion on bot left fell to a double team effort of another 100 drones or so, between me and red.
Dropped another 20 hydras in mid right expansion of yellow to effectively finish him off. He had approximately 6 observing little punks left on the board, and maybe a couple undiscovered pylons to keep himself alive.
At this point, I produced another 200 or so hydras, ordering each and every one of them to rush Teal, along with giving red the order of doing the same thing. In an extreme rush of blue and crimson blood from my own pets and those of the Teal Protoss commander, we broke his front defenses as Red bumrushed his right flank with another 15 guards. The sight of the crumbling ruins and slain Dragoons was absolutely marvelous.
Things I've learned-
-Sending Hydra drops on the nexii of the oppossing Protoss forces is very satisfying, and fun, especially when they start psi-storming the area and killing off some of their own peons.
-Hour and a half long games lead to very necessary bathroom breaks. I went while midway through killing Yellows main.
-Zerglings make effective Goon blockade breakers.
-Always nydus into your friends base if they are closer to the enemy fortress.
-Guardians are fairly innefective without a couple packs of em patrolling into the base of the enemy.
-Zerg do not suck in long battles if you have plenty of hatcheries up, and your enemies don't rush you. |
