Heh. This game was weird. I hope you like it. Game two of my series: Big FFA Night.
INTRO
Ahh... I love FFA. It all comes down to a lot of macro, which means good screenshots for me. Lots of cool screenshots means lots of cool ratings. Anyways, I was asking for an FFA to BR, and people in NoHunters (yes people in NOHUNTERS) actually said they would play. Unable to desert the once in a day chance of actually getting to watch a game being played, I quickly said before they could change their minds, I said "channel ASS! for FFA". And when I saw who came, I was glad. RushinRussian, otherwise known as (gayass) ~TaloN~, joined eagerly looking to strut his stuff. HeartImplanter, otherwise known as the returning champion Grimling, also joined. As always, he was eager to be in another Battlereport. Red~marshmellow, quietly joined. Mithandrer also snuck in without a word. Like me, they was overjoyed to be in an actual game with NoHunterites. Finally, one annoying SOB joined. Banning me from channels that I told FFAers to join, I was more than pissed. But I'm a nice guy and I let that piece of garbage play. That piece of garbage was Bob_The_Newt. Errrr.... make that Bob_The_Newt2. I whoised this sucker and found out it was the one and only Metal. So since I knew who everyone was, I asked what map we should play. Talon insisted the large "Green Valleys" so he could show off his pylon writing skill (you'll know what I mean later). "Bob" desperatley wanted Plains of Snow cuz he is stupid. The rest didn't care. Liking Metal more than Talon, I chose Plains of Snow, just to piss Talon off. After a few moments of saying "I own", we started off.

Since Metal insisted on playing this map, he surely had the advantage, since everyone said this map sucked or they didn’t know how to play it. Metal chose random, getting Protoss. In my opinion, Protoss has got to be the best race in FFAs. Probably because of those big hot dogs with extra cheese on em. Yea Carriers. Talon chose protoss, cuz he is gosu with em. Weird, cuz the last 3 games I watched him play, he had to pick Protoss. Also the last 3 games I watched him play were over 2 hours =[. Grimling, the returning champion, stayed random as well, receiving Terran. I think Terran is the worst race in FFA cuz Talon said so. Next, a guy(girl) I know absolutely nothing about, red~marshmellow, chose Protoss, like Talon. All I know about this dude is that he is really quiet. Finally, Mithrandir, another guy I know nothing about, chose Terran and got the gayest color of all. Purple. And now, since the player intro is done, lets go on to the observer intro. Hailing from Queens, NY, weighing over 300 pounds, a towering figure of 8 feet 2 inches, having won twice on "Who wants to be a Millionaire", and considered the best BRer and SC player in the world, it's none other than, newly named "ASSMAN"!!!! Ok enough of that, lets get on with the show.
Reporting when there are 5 people is really confusing.
Reporting when there are 5 people is really confusing. Really. Well, I got most of the stuff when it happened. Here goes. Talon started off with a pylon. Duh. Next he built a forge. From watching some of his other games, this is his normal FFA build order. He then followed the forge up with some cannons, and soon after, a Nexus at the expansion above him. He then enforced that expansions with his tech of choice, the cannons. He put up three of em and sat around accumulated minerals.
RM, seems to lack a special build for FFA. He goes the customary 1v1 build, pylon, gate, gate, pylon with a gas somewhere in there. Cy core comes soon after the second gateway.
Metal, also a Protoss, gets his pylon, like everyone else. Then the gateway came, followed by a uh... Nexus at the bottom right corner. Watching Metal, I can easily say that both Talon and Metal have very similar playing styles, and could lead to a square off between these two.
Grim, happy he is in another BR, happy he is the champion as of right now and happy because he is Terran, builds his source of supply, the supply depot. Then, a barracks comes, followed by a gas and a quick factory.
Finally, we get to our last person. Mithrander, another Terran to be reckoned with, started off with the exact same build as Grim. A supply depot, rax, followed by a quick gas and quick factory. The only difference is that Mith gets his second rax before Grim could.
Nothing, for now...
Metal aka. Bob_The_Newt2, as you know, expanded his to be army by sending a probe of his down to the bottom right starting spot for an expansion. He secures his infant expansion with a few protective cannons, well placed to repel any cheesy cloaked units that might stray into his territory. Soon after, the nexus finally warps in, tempting Metal to juice it up by "Maynarding" (transferring worker units from one base to a new expansion) a few probes. He then makes a gateway as his Cy core finally warps in. He then starts 3 new warp rifts, one of them Citidel, one of them Stargate and the last being a pylon.
Meanwhile, Talon enforced his expansion with a gateway and a few more cannons. This was followed by a Cy core, then a Robotics Facility.
Mithrander the Terran commander snags another factory while making marines out of his 2 raxes somewhat consistentley. As his 2nd factory finishes, so does the machine shop he started just a while back. Finally, an E-Bay starts for Mith, probably in fear of those wretched DT. But then he starts a CC at
Grim also gets his 2nd factory, just like Mith. Grim also starts adding on his machine shop aiming toward tank tech. And guess what. An E-Bay starts for Grim also just like Mith. Terrans seem to only have one build =[.
RM, being the third Protoss, is the only Protoss without an expansion. He doesn't seem to want to get one soon either, since he hasn't scouted or sent a probe anywhere but inside his base. But RM consistently produces meaty goons and zeals. Three gateways, churning out Protoss units at all times adds up to... a lot of units. However, he doesn't use those units for now. Probably saving em for later.
Grim - "WHO THE FUCK HAS DT???"
Grim was just minding his own business. Making turrets, tanks galore, ya know. Until the disgusting, wretched, cowardly, infamous DT came to town. Yea, there were turrets. But the 6 DT from the outside just took em down easily. Then those DT started pickin on the poor SCV. Why pick on the SCV? They are defenseless and brainless. Don't pick on them! Of course they wouldn't listen to me. Grim yelled "WHO THE FUCK HAS DT???". No one answered. He finally had to scan to get rid of the vile creatures and saw that the DT were tinted... orange. Who's orange in this game? Yes it's him. The only one who would dispatch SCV with cloaked units. METAL. Grim vowed to avenge the 4 SCV's deaths...
In another part of the map, Talon was getting his 2nd expansion. This could be very bad for the other 4 contestants. Talon already has an expansion. Another one could mean lots of damage. But no one stops him from getting the top right expansion he wanted. A Nexus, a pylon and then a Rosanne full of Cannons went up for Talon's baby expansion. Then Talon set up ANOTHER expansion in the middle island nearest to him. Another Rosanne full of cannons went up there. Then guess what happened. Yes Talon got greedy and put up yet another expansion to the island right under his last expansion. Talon is the Bill Gates of the match right now...
In other news, Metal continues to harass Grim with DT, slowly taking down his base. RM continues to tech and produce. He has a shuttle and psi raids Metal's expansion. Metal responds with a "HAHAH STORMING PEONS IS GAY!!". RM is not discouraged however, and continues his stealthy strategy. Mithrander also continues his production of units which or mostly factory originated. He then attempts to cliff tank aka. "Turbo Newbie" Grimling. It works, but only destroys a few SCV before Grim's tanks blast the enemy away.
I want to be like Whoop!
The art of macro. It's almost essential for victory. Very useful in late games. If you have more than 2 expansions, a likely art you will practice. Whoop put up 12 gateways. Talon, loving to be original, put up 12 Stargates. Hehe just kidding. He put up 6. He added a Fleet Beacon. As I saw the Fleet Beacon start up, I said to myself a blunt "OMG". The last 4 games I seen Talon play were... Carrier ending games =[. Oh well. Metal was just as powerful. He had 4 Stargates up but already had 2 carriers. RM, the 3rd Protoss, had 4 Gateways up, pumping combat troops out. On to other races. The Terran weren’t being much of a Whoop. 2 Factories for each summed it up for the Terran. But what sort of made up for that was that both Terrans had the light on the factories at ALL times. This meant lotsa troops for a 2 factory build. And now for the actual "battles". A DT battled a CC and what a furious fight it was. The DT slashed away at the CC as the CC did absolutely nothing. What a battle. This should be in our highlight roll next week! That's it for the battles in this section!
Finally, some F*CKING action!
Metal was takin over like the Yankees take over the World Series (they call it the WORLD Series but it's usually played in NY for some reason =]). His fleet of 2 carriers now multiplied to 4, then 8. Only way to do that was to macro. He had 4 Stargates up working overtime. Now lemme tell you something. Metal is pretty much the total opposite of Talon. Metal doesn't wait to MC an SCV to make 24 BC and then MC a drone and make a million defiler. No. He attacks when the time is right, no overkill needed. So Metal decided that the time was right and moved his big ass air force from his expansion to his left. As they slowly moved by, the carriers pulverized anything in their way. An expansion of Grim's, lightly defended with a few golis and tanks went down like a drink in Pitt's hands (huk). The Carrier force kept moving, kept killing. Finally, Metal's men reached the home of Grim's forces. The Carriers took no bullshit and killed pretty much everything that was there. Golis were too weak in numbers to destroy such a force. Tanks did absolutely nothing. SCV couldn't do much either. The only thing that could actually do damage to the Carriers were 4 Missle Turrets. Whoooyee. Interceptor spitballs (they really do look like spitballs) tore up the Missle Turrets like paper. Grim was forced to flee with what he could to the upper left corner where there was a little cliff. Grim landed as much as he could, a rax, a CC and a few SCV in a dropship there to at least sneak attack someone. Metal felt "mildly" proud as he declared himself a "god". Whatever. Oh yea, by the way, Mith took the last two middle expansions, floating two CC, escorted by none.
Talon was yet to be harrased this whole game. He was happily macroing himself. Two more Stargates added to his collection to make the grand total 6. He had about 4 Carrier at this time, additionally warping in an Arbiter Tribunal. This could be bad. Now, let's get back to ol' Grim. He was just about to "Turbo Newbie" Talon's main (which was very skim in defenses), hoping he could put a dent in the dynasty. He sucessfully pulled it off, using tanks to back up the surviving vultures from the large Carrier attack that Metal executed. Talon wasn't very happy with that. His main was diminshed to a few buildings now. But Talon had a back up plan. Not to use his own carriers but... to use Metal's. "METAL METAL METAL KILL GRIM'S TURBO NEWBIE" Talon cried. Metal was obliged to help the annoying Talon. Metal ordered his 8 carriers to move up just a bit from where they were, to hit Grim's lowly forces. However, on the way, the carrier squad met a small base of Terran. That happened to be Mith's. Mith, also previously got screwed out of an expansion by Metal, felt the pain again. The rich and powerful Metal took out the Terran base with only the casuality of one carrier. Wraiths contributed to that loss. Mith was also forced to flee, going to the far middle right, on the cliff of Talon's expansion at the top right. Metal's forces proceeded to screw Grim from kills. The Turbo Newbie had no air defense so Metal lost nothing in killing the tanks and vultures. Talon, being the polite stud and all, thanked Metal again and again.
The end of RM!!!!
The end of RM meant a hard fought battle. His maxing out of troops was imminent. He had no expansions however. Here's how the end of RM started:
RM said he had to go.
Here's how it ended:
RM left.
Awesome huh? He died without anyone even laying a finger on him, and he had a formidable force, even capable of taking down a carrier fleet. RM's forces were based on goons. But RM didn't go without some action first. He sent everything he had, goons, zeals, DT, probes, forge!! Everything went toward Metal, the one who has been the target of RM this whole game. Luckily, Metal survived it, due to his massive carrier force, some shield batteries and lotsa cannons.
So it was down to two men, Talon and Metal. These two were very powerful, Carriers and more. But Talon had a slight edge. His 4 bases outscored his nemesis by 2. Talon also had the advantage because he had the fearful Arbiters. These boys can encase the opponents men into little museum showcases half the opposing Carrier army and lighten the burden of facing them all at once. These sexies could recall, a much more inexpensive, faster, easier way to drop or travel. But the trait of the Arbiter that Talon was most looking for was the ability to cloak anything around it. He had two of these versatile units. He sent em all to his middle base(s) to be ready for any attack. Then he remembered Mith’s base, still cluttered with inactive buildings. Talon, bloodthirsty and all, took his entire carrier force of 10 and started mutilating the buildings. Too bad cuz Metal had the same idea! Talon's carriers were met with a not-so-happy-welcome. A screen of interceptors stood before me. I could hardly see the ground with these behemoths fighting! Hehe, then I noticed about 4 wraiths helping out Metal. Ahh I decided not to tell and let it pass, hoping this won't lead to another handicap match, like my last few BRs. And now for the carrier battle. It was one of the most fearsome battles that I ever laid eyes on, resulting in mass explosions and screenshots. Metal added 1 more carrier to his 8 fighting. That made it a little more even, 9of Metal's carriers versus 10 of Talon's. But arbiters gave the victory to Talon. The powerful arbiters froze up half of Metal's air fleet, making it 5 on 10. Metal's carriers lost, trying their best to hold up until the stasis ran out. Unfortunatley, stasis lasts for a very long time and there is not much you can do about it when you are a Protoss. Metal's 5 carriers blew up in a burst of blue smoke just as the stasis diminished. Now the 4 remaining carriers met their doom to almost full health opposing carriers. Talon won this battle, hands down. Maybe it wasn't a good idea for Metal to help Talon... Anyways, this battle helped Talon gain the upper hand, and gave him a much healthier chance of winning the game. Meanwhile, 3 men plotted to take down the Talon dynasty and become the winner...

Starting Build Orders (Talon)
Annoying. Loud. 2Gosu4U. These all describe Talon and why people hate him. So who could blame these three guys: Metal, Grim and Mith if they so called "gangbanged" him? Well no one. But Talon would be no cakewalk. This man was a giant, calling almost the whole map home, had tons of riches cached in his secret vault. His men were numerous, all loyal unless a Dark Archon would influence them. His fleet was powerful, what other word is better to describe carriers? Finally, his army was a versatile one, almost being able to counter pretty much anything except for the feared templar. But that would soon change. Seeing that it was a 3v1, I decided to help Talon just a bit. I strolled my SCV over to his base that had the only Dark Archon he owned, and guess what? Yes he MCed that sucker. He immediatley took to building a CC, followed by a rax. Talon then floated his CC over to the top left SS (starting spot). He made a few SCV, then made a factory. It was obvious that Talon was teching rapidly toward some kind of unit but I could not grasp my mind on what. Then I recalled all the other game's I saw Talon play. It flashed in my head as a math problem. If y=Yalon, x=Protoss and n=BC, x + y = n. Oh well. I suck at math. BC tech was coming fast anyways. Metal's future looked as Grim as Mith's was only.... 30 minutes ago. Talon decided to add to his already capable-of-defeating-all-three-of-his-opponents by taking all the remaing expansions on the right side. Yes ALL. As in everything. He defended them with only cannons because he knew that Metal was pushed back into his base. And then it came...
1 hour and 30 minutes crammed into a few paragraphs.
No it was not Jesus who finally came (though I wish he did) it was the BC tech. Talon then decided to macro with his new race. I pleaded "It's already lagging with your 200 guys, plz don't make it lag more". Talon would not listen to my cries of despair. "Aww fuck it!" I said and I went to eat.
I came back in about 45 minutes (yes I eat very, very slowly) and saw that Talon had 14 BC. I already knew Talon wouldn't attack until he got around 20. I went to take a shower =[.
10 minute shower. Talon was just about to attack!!! "FINALLY!!" I say. As Talon moves in, Metal knew the time of death was nigh. He quickly stormed his own units so he could say "Haha I killed myself, you didn't kill me!." Talon's 20 BC and about 15 Carriers accompanied by arbiters started to "remodel" Metal's base. Yes, it was a very one sided battle this was. Grim's Valks did their best to try to rid of the humongurous attack of Talon to no avail. In fact, none of Talon's units died. Talon really needs to learn to stop taking games to long periods of times like these. Oh and btw, Talon's forces trampled all over Metal's. GG's were said and the game was over, crowning a new champion
Champ!!!!!!!!!!: Talon!!!!!
Ahh the Lessons Learned section. Not today plz. Too tired. Sorry. But I really hoped you enjoyed it.
THE END
Hum, not just yet. I forgot some stuff. Talon refused to kill Grim's last buildings when I had to depart from the game. Talon said he was gonna make a shrine of bengalass I think. He also said he needed to practice his pylon writing. Here it is...
