The game: a 2v2 on BGH, the best place to go when you're doubting your own gosuity and want to beat on some chobos. I wound up with a guy name of @rchDev!l for my ally. Our opponents were two idiots whose names I forget.
It was two toss (us) vs two zerg (them). I began my standard toss vs. zerg strategy.... lots of upgraded zealots. So far I've had a good measure of success with it. About a minute into the game, one of our opponents left the game. No scouting had even been done. "WTF?!" I said, incredulous. At about this time, Devil began saying "attack lower left gogogogogogo". Now, I saw everything he saw. And he hadn't scouted. Further, he was at 12:00, so it's not like he could've glimpsed an overlord. I held my attack. "How do you know he's there?" I asked casually. "Trainer" he said cryptically. "gogogogogogo"
I decided he was hacking, and turned off allied victory before sending my zealots in to massacre the zerg. When it was over, he said "gg." And then noticed that my troops were advancing on his base. Very quickly. "no backstab" he screamed. Fortunately, my first assault didn't kill him, as I'd used a good portion of my troops squishing the Zerg (Devil had kept most of his forces at home). So I got to have a talk with him as he pleaded for me to ally.
It seems that this is his racket: the guy who had quit? This is his friend. (Suddenly it was clear to me why the guy had had so many losses.) He would join the game, wait till it was after the point of no return, then tell Devil any information he could about the opponent... thus making it a 2v1, with excellent recon to boot. Slimy. But, as he assured me, it wasn't a hack. As he said this, I was switching to goons, upgrading range, and massing the crabs outside his choke.
He didn't seem to share my point of view that it was, in fact, WORSE than hacking (something I'd never thought possible). So once I got an observer up there to spot his new dark templar, he said "i hate assholes like u" and disconnected. After dropping him, I continued to play, for the sheer joy of tearing down his 40 cannons.
Lessons learned:
1) If you ever see a guy name of @rchDev!l as your opponent, and your ally is someone with a name like akalalala or something gay like that, know what you're letting yourself in for.
2) If you ever see a guy name of @rchDev!l as your ally, get ready to backstab. If I ever see this joker again, I'm going to explain the situation to his "victim" and propose a defection once the other lamer leaves the game.
3) Vigilantism is fun.
4) This report will not be rated well. (This is my smurf name, by the way... guess who I really am!)
5) Malt liquor. |
