THE MAP - DIRE STRAITS
THE RACE
A good natured game started on Dire Straits. Pro()t()$$ (who from now on will be referred to as Toss) landed in the bottom left corner and Twip (who from now on will be referred to as Twip) landed in the bottom right corner. While trash talking each other, each started out with an amazingly similar build order. Both started out with Assimilator, Pylon, Gateway, and Cybernectics Core, with Toss finishing only 1 second (literally) ahead of Twip. Here their strategies diverged.
Toss decided to go for the dreaded Dark Templar, building a Citadel of Adun, while Twip went for the almighty reaver, warping in a Robotics Factory. In the meantime, Twip built 2 dragoons, and Toss built a zealot. After the Citadel, Toss needed transporation for his soon to be Dark Templar, so he warped in a Robotics Factory for shuttles.
THE JOUST
After Twip's Robotics Factory had warped in, he immediatly started a shuttle and a Robotics Support Bay. Just on the other side, Toss's Templar Archives arrived at the EXACT same time Twip's Robotics Support Bay got in. Toss started on a Dark Templar right away, and waited for cash to get more.
Twip's shuttle had just finished and he loaded up one dragoon to take to go searching for Toss's base. He got lucky and found it on the first try, and unloaded the dragoon right next to the peon line. Twip's dragoon was able to kill one probe before Toss's Dark Templar got to the scene and chased away the dragoon.
Here was the pivitol point of the game. Because Toss attack with his dark templar, Twip realized he would be dropped with them soon. So he quickly build an observatory and warped in an observer. For some reason, after the attack on his base, Toss decided not to attack Twip, who had no detection at the time. Because of that delay, Twip was able to get the detection he needed to win the game.
While the dragoon was attacking, Twip had made 2 reavers, and Toss had warped in 2 more Dark Templar (which again he did not drop). Twip loaded one reaver and one dragoon up, and took off with an observer, to Toss's base. Twip was able to drop next to the peon line and unload the shuttle for some massive destruction. He absolutely raped the 3 dark templar standing there, and forced all the probes that survived away from the tedious task of mining.
After micromanaging the reaver (Zileas Style) and killing off all of the dragoons that Toss is sending, Twip backs off and retreats with the reaver to the back of Toss's base. Toss, thinking the threat is over, brings back all of the probes in one Nice Big Cluster in which one nicely placed scarab could kill all of them (am I getting my point across here?). Well Twip comes back with his reaver and does hit all of the probes down in only 2 shots. The Game is pretty much over.
THE END GAME
Toss finally brings in 2 dragoons to kill the lone reaver, but Twip has not been idle. He now brings 2 shuttles full of 2 reavers and 2 zealots to Toss's isle. The shuttles ignore 3 dragoons that shoot at them, and drops them near the minerals. The 3 dragoons are killed, and Twip starts on the nexus. Toss concedes the game, saying "I sukc [True spelling :-)] at islands".
LESSONS
