Ok, I hadn't played on B.net in some time, and feeling bored I decided to try to join a game. Nothing seemed interesting, so I made a 4 player free for all on Blood Bath. After waiting a minute, I got 3 interesting seeming opponets. The tags of two were nothing but a long series of numbers (perhaps they were friends?), but because I forgot them all, we'll use 1 and 0. 1 seemed a decent player I believ he had around 30 wins. 0 had a few hundred I believed, so I knew he was going to be trouble. The third's tag was all acronyms, s.m.m.j.m. I didn't bother to ask it's meaning, and he was a newb, with a record of just one loss
Me and s.m.m. chose the Protoss, 1 chose Terrans and 0 opted for the hand of fate to decide his race. Assuming everyone knows this map, I spawned in the lower right, 0 above me, 1 beside me, and s.m.m. across the center. Since I was playing, I couldn't see what everyone else was doing, so i'm going to write this from my POV. I was a bit slow on my build plan, and slapped my pylons and gateways at the entrance to the base. There was some lag problems, and I could feel someone would drop eventually. I started pumping zealots from two gateways, and massing up probes. After I got gas, I started up to goons.
After 7 zealots and 5 dragoons, 0 must have lost the signal, and after 45 seconds was dropped. I instantly sent up all my zealots to clear out his base, anticipating a war over who would get all his minerals. At the same time, I went to reavers. However, no one wanted to steal 0's base, so my wrecking crew of zealots cleaned things up, and my probe secured the entrance.
After setting up the expansion, I sent one reaver to each base, waiting for someone to try to take the center area. I had heard much of nothing fom either competitor. I was building up my reavers, when I saw a few of 1's maries out of the corner of a reaver's eye. I waited and watched. I don't know who fired first, but a fierce fight was started as 1 sent a slew of marines, backed my plenty of medics and a couple tanks. My reavers blasted the marines up good, but after killing about 30 infantry, the tanks were set up, and started pounding my reavers. I managed to knock off all but one, which started pounding my base. I still had those zealots, so I ran past all of his marines suicidally, and managed to get inside his shock cannon and kill the tank. At this point however, I am franticlly trying to get more reavers, but he could have clearly taken my main with what he had.
He just sat there however, and so did s.m.m, who I'd not heard a peep from the whole game. I got about 4 or five reavers, and was ready to try to lift the siege, when 1 moved all his men back into the main. I assumed he was denfending against s.m.m, but I didn't hear a shot. I moved all of my reavers into the center, and he didn't try to take it back. after I had 6 of these, I would finish my build plan, and set up two stargates and a fleet beacon for a carrier fleet. I didn't hear anything else out of 1 until he landed about 3 marines at my mineral line. but since I mined it dry, I moed the forces back, and let my carriers take care of it. The marines or the shuttle didn't make it out alive.
Then 1 was at it again: 3 cloaked wraiths at the expansion at 0's old base. Without cannons, I couldn't see them. I moved the probes down to my gaurded entrance, and my carriers saved the day again. after seeing 7 carriers full of interceptors, 1 surprisingly called it quits. After moving everyone back into place, I gave s.m.m. 1 minute to surrender. My answer was a few high templar armed with psi storms.
I was going to attack right after the templars were vanquished, but suddenly, this flood of angry dragoons gushed forth from the entrance to s.m.m.'s base. I moved my carriers right over my reavers, crossed my fingers and prayed. After it was all over, I had lost 2 carriers and 2 reavers. He lost his entire army. I would have moved in to to clean him out, but s.m.m.j.m threw in the towel. I guess it stands for Screwed Myself Majorly (in) Just Moments.
And as for the numbers? I guess it stood for the number of times he kicked himself in the ass thinking about his idiotic mistakes.
My tag however contains neither numbers or acronyms. Just the "livingexception".
