I wrote this one day when I was really bored. It’s a FFA that took place in my mind; it’s my first report so please don’t flame it (or me) to badly. Sorry about the lack of pictures but I made this battle up. The map is essentially an Island map with a circle around the edges and an Y touching the edges of the circle. The main bases are in the areas of tar, within the sections of the Y. each main has two flanking expansions a ‘natural land expansion’ with a mineral only near it plus a mineral only behind the main on the circle. Two vespene geysers are at the three areas where the Y and circle meet. There is also one large expansion in the middle.
Somewhere on the planet Earth:

“Ladies and Gentleman, My Team and I have invented what until recently has only been dreamed of. Books have been written on it, Scientists and Mathematicians have spent a lifetime on it. Now, without further delay I present to you my Time-Machine. Does anyone know something that will soon be happening and is impossible for anyone to manipulate so I can prove to you this thing works? General Howzich, do you have any suggestions?”
“Hmm…How about the battle that will soon be taking place on Korhal? Between the Zerg, Protoss, and the Human forces stationed there?”
“General that is an easy one but if you insist, A group of reporters will be sent immediately. Their report will be back in just a few minutes.” A few moments later…”Ahh… They’re back will you please give your report.”

The Combatants:
The Purple Terran starting at the top position
The Red Zerg morphing in ate bottom left main
The Green Protoss warped in at the bottom right main
And now to begin…
The game started off slow being an Island map, Green and Red getting early gas then teching, and Purple being bold and begging to construct a cc to float to his island expansion. Red soon went double lair for hydra and lurker drops. While Green teched up to both reavers and high templars while preparing to expand soon. Red apparently had enough hydras and lurkers to do a drop to destroy someone’s economy but continued on making them without loading up any overlords. By now Purple’s exp was fully operational plus he was just starting a new one on the ‘natural land exp’ SE of him and Green had just begun his; Red still was without an expansion.
Red finally decided he had enough hydras to drop someone (he must have had 60 and he sent 48) he also sent four lurkers so altogether he sent 14 overlords completely filled up, up north to drop Purple. Red maneuveRed around to get above Purple’s base and then he sent 4 overlords of hydras and one of lurkers over to Purple’s Island exp to drop it. The smaller force landed on the Island with little resistance and overpowered what few marines and goliaths were there. It looked as if Red would win the first battle of the game (at least if you could call it a battle) but Purple sent over five full of dropships of marines, tanks and goliaths to reinforce his Island exp. Red’s Hydras quickly shot at the dropships hoping to destroy them despite the fact they had already unloaded. Red’s Hydras obviously bit the dust but they did manage to kill all the dropships. With the vast majority of the terran forces stranded at the expansion Red sent his larger force of hydras and overlords down to Purple’s main and landed by the starport, destroying it immediately. Soon Purple was down one main. Red immediately collected up all his hydras and headed home not knowing Purple had another exp.
In expansions Red and Green seemed to be mimicking each other having both of their Island expansions claimed and the mineral only behind their base. Purple had begun an expansion flurry Having the natural land and the mineral only nearby. He also had the nearly destroyed Island exp. He had just started mining the mineral only behind his base and the two gas fountains near his other expansions.
There was a temporary lull in the action while Green built up dragoons reavers and high templars with zealots mixed in. Purple was making Marines Goliaths and Tanks, while Red was making Hydras and lurkers while preparing to get mutalisks. This continued for some time until three Red overlords filled with hydras and two drones landed at the middle exp beginning and began setting up camp. Two Protoss shuttles dropped off dragoons at the edge of the expansion planning to clear the way for a protoss base. The hydras and dragoons clashed with the hydras proving victorious due to superior numbers. Red brought over 4 lurkers and more hydras to help defend the expansion. Green flew over 8 zealots and they were destroyed upon landing by lurkers and hydras. Red flew 24 hydralisks to Green’s main hoping to destroy him while his attention was diverted. Red was lucky for not only was Green’s attention in a different location he landed far away from the robotic facility where 6 reavers were sitting idly. Green ended up losing a large portion of his dragoon army and also 3 of his reavers thanks to Zerg reinforcements. Red’s Hydras were eventually were destroyed by high templars and reavers but he still had control of the middle expansion. Green seemed to have given up on taking the middle when he finally landed 3 reavers and 9 dragoons with observer detection below the expansion and slowly marched up to the middle hoping to slowly eliminate it. Red withdrew his hydras while letting his sunken colonies take the hits of reavers. Right before the last sunken would die the hydras were sent swarming down to destroy the reavers. They were slaughtered quickly with only five of the dragoons destroyed. The hatchery was being destroyed when 12 mutalisks flew down and crushed the remaining dragoons and reavers. More Hydralisks were flown down and the mutalisks left when the terran army that was stranded on Purple’s island marched down and crushed all Zerg resistance. Purple promptly set up a command center.
Red and Green feeling the need for more cash take the land expansion near their base. Green also takes the mineral only there. After a few more minutes Red also takes the mineral only at his expansion plus he places a hatchery near the vespene geysers. Green place Gateways near his expansion for an attack on the middle, Red not wanting to be outdone puts 4 more hatcheries at is expansion in addition to the 2 the already there.
By now all the islands were mined out except the base near Purple’s old main which no one has bothered to colonize. The only expansions left with minerals were the two mineral only bases of Red and Green and they were almost dry. Red still went almost pure hydras with a large force of mutalisks for support. Purple had a huge amount of marines and medics with goliath and tank support. Green had a mixed force of zealots, dragoons, reavers, high templar, and carriers with corsair air protection. Small drops were often taking place with everyone losing about an equal amount of forces, which were always quickly replaced. Green actually came out on top due to using just a few zealots and high templar to destroy more units than twelve hydralisks or marines could ever do by having the zealots running ahead to find marines or hydralisks then setting off as many storms as possible. The high templar were even rescued by the shuttles that dropped them off so Green only lost a few zealots. Green feeling he had a large advantage over both Red and Purple decided to storm the middle at first the dragoons were slaughtered as the support forces were to slow to keep up but once they got there the remaining terran forces were quickly destroyed. Purple counter-attacked the Protoss forces with a group of wraiths and because Green was dumb enough to forget observers the carriers corsairs high templar and reavers were nearly all destroyed. In the end several dragoons plus a couple reavers and high templar were all that remained of the attacking forces. Purple’s forces were nearly destroyed as well, a few units had withdrawn and a few units were left at his expansions. Now they were hoping that Red had poor reconnaissance or had stopped building up his forces. Unfortunately for them nothing could have been farther from the truth. Red had masses of hydralisks plus 30 mutalisks. Red sent half his Hydralisks up to the terran expansion behind Purple’s destroyed main and the rest to the middle sweeping through and continuing onto the other terran bases. The mutalisks flew down to Green land expansions with the gateways, of the three groups they met the most resistance due to the fact that 10 high templar were there to storm anything that came near. The mutalisks immediately withdrew while zerglings rushed down to consume the high templar. Hydralisks soon eliminated Purple. Green was no problem to destroy through attacking with guardians and then landing hydralisks to finish the job. Soon the victor emerged: The Red Zerg.

“Thank you. General was that to your liking?”
“Is that the best reporter you’ve got?”
“Sorry about the reporter, our best reporters have already time traveled, and they are given a few weeks to recalibrate for it is a most confusing experience. Well that is all, I hope you found it interesting, a copy of the presentation may be picked up at the exits if you wish to prove it against a news report. Good Day, and Good Bye.”

Battle Shots!

War & Peace
