Du du duuuuu........My 15th birthday has finally arrived!! Oh joy for me! But first, let me tell you where I'll be spending this great day. A week before my mother asks me what I wanna do for this great occasion. And I tell her, "It would be really cool if I could get a couple of friends to go paintballing." Being the mother she is she looks into my big baby greens, wait, that's not the saying is it? Oh well she does that and says "Okay, which ones?" I tell her that Sal, Chad, and Adam will do. And of course she makes all of the arrangments so I can waste my time playing StarCraft. Whooppee!
So here we are, it's high noon and my friends and I are standing in the office of the closest out-door paintball place nearby. So, we all rent our guns(semi-automatics) and our paint, and set off(not before I using my own money buy a stupid device that I thought was cool at the time called a "Paint Grenade". After that, we set out to the briefing area.
Upon arriving there, we see our good luck of players who must come here a lot(6 of them to be exact), so we join their game. We break up into teams my group of friends and I accept one of them into our team and prepare for battle.
Now, before I tell you about my fav. game I will describe to you the playing field. It was basically the size of a football field, 100 yds east to west, 50 north to south. To the east, there were masses of wooden teepee looking things with two sides and a square cut in the front of each one that were facing west. Tho the west, the were sand-bag bunkers facing the direction of the teepee's. Aside from those two major sides, in the south west there was a two story tower that was good for sniping target with. This tower had a ramp going up to it, and underneath the platform was a little room. Now, in the north east, there was an old pick-up truck. Something like a 1985 POS. Also throughout the field there were dead bushes and other dead plants(it was a drought then).. And that was how the field was layed out. Quite good, as I thought then.
So the first game we played was capture the flag. We took the field and the two team captains, Sal being the smartest and some other guy from the other team went to the head ref(there were three in all), to flip a coin to chose sides, east being red and west being blue. We lost, and he chose west, being blue. Okay to refresh your memory, they had the tower and the sand-bag bunkers. The object of this game was to get your opponents flag and bring it back to your flag. Basic capture the flag game. Okay, now before the game gets called to start I get assigned to guard the flag being as I am the one with the least experience(only my third time playing).
So the game begins with the enemy team getting two in the tower and the rest of them into bunkers closest to us. But our team decided to wait them out, so only Chad and Adam got up close, by running to the truck and ducking behind the tires. And of course the fighting begins with Chad and Adam taking most of the fire from the tower, and another guy in a bunker, leaving two guys to the rest of us. Me hiding underneath a bush adjacent to our flag am watching this entire thing. I look around and see Sal, our fearless leader, firing at the tower trying to give Chad and Adam some support while I haven't a clue where the other guy is. Im looking and I see Chad take a hit and walk off the field, seeing this, Sal rushes up next to Adam, leaving me by myself. I see Adam take out a guy trying to sneak around the north side of the teepees right before he takes a hit to the groin. He falls down crying. I look over to the ref who is laughing his ass off. An assistant ref helps Adam off to the side, lucky for him I thought. As the game progresses, me being with having an attention span as long as trigger finger, am starting to get bored and starting to dig a small hole with my hand. Not knowing that Sal gets taken out and now it is done to me, the other guy where I have no idea where he is, and three of them. So, im sitting there digging, while two of the enemy start to creep into the teepee's. Just as they were about 20 feet from the flag, I hear a scream, and so do they. I look up and see the other guy running as hard as he can towards our side with their flag in his hands. The two enemies infront of me kneel down to take firing positions, think he was the last one left. I take my gun, and aim at the first guy, hitting him right in the ass(ironically I find out later that this was the guy that shot Adam in the jewels). So he screams to his teamate there is someone left behind him as he walks off the field, so the other guy spins into a nearby teepee and I lose sight of him. I hear another scream as I see the guy with their flag get shot by the last guy remaining in the tower. Note: If the flag gets dropped, it reamains there untill taken to either side of the field by the player. Seeing this I rush out of my hiding place and race as hard as I can towards the fallen flag, hearing paintballs wizz by my head coming from the tower. I grab the flag and turn, running back towards our own position, unbeknownst to me that the guy I lost sight of before is right behind the next teepee. As soon as I run past his teepee, boom, quoting Forrest Gump "Something bite me!!", and I fall to the ground a paintstain on my ass, and the flag laying not 10 feet from our own flag. I watch as the guy that shot me walks over to our flag, takes it and takes his sweet time walking over to his area. Boom we lost. Oh the humanity!!!

Well, hope you enjoy this battlereport, I had a good time in it and a good time making it. Thanks!
