Rematch!(part 1)
Introduction |
Ah... Crizis vs Thug457; it was to be a good game, considering that both players could run my ass into the ground. I thought it was going to be interesting to say the least. The only thing bad about this match would be the map. Either Dark Continent (A gay 8 player map and only one Thug wanted to play) or Lost Temple (A gay 4 player map and the only one CriziS wanted to play). Eventually the Temple was chosen, and the game was made. Me and MiniThug457 (Thug's evil clone and violation of Austin Powers copyrights) were to watch the game, but Mini lagged out before we could start. Thug, not caring about his genetic clone that happens to be one eighth his size, starts the game and begins the fun. Since I had nothing else to do, I began frantically taking notes and screen shots. I was going to battlereport this game. It had to be good.
The Battlefield
Map:The Lost Temple
Starting Positions and Races: CriziS got the 6 oclock with random ZergThug457 got 3 o'clock with random Protoss
CriziS: After a loud wet thud of cerebrate CriziS's body arriving at the 6 oclock expansion, 9 drones were quickly mutated, before a spawning pool was mutated  and another overlord morphed. Before the giant and amazingly slow Overlord could hatch, another hatchery was layed down at the expansion, and yet another at the now complete spawning pool. More drones and zerglings were hatched.
Thug: After fate gave him the hands of the protoss,
Thug yanked his Protoss Commander out of bed at 4 am and warped him in(kicking, screaming, and still in his PJs), as well as his nexus and four probes onto the 3 o'clock expansion. Still dreary, he ordered an technology upgration plan, which came up with one major question: Is there a such word as 'Upgration'?. 8 probes, a pylon was made, followed by a  gateway, and an assimilator was layed over the green gas. A cybernetics core was later warped in, as more probes were made. Later Robotics Facilitys and more pylons were made. After the first Facility met the stench of the jungle, a shuttle and Robotics Support Bay were ordered.
The Game Begins...
Yes, sorry to say we can't build probes and drones forever, but eventually the game starts. Recon comes first. Because he's zerg, CriziS can scout with his Overlord. He goes to the nine o'clock and later twelve o'Clock starting positions, and finds nothing more harmful then two vespene gas geysers. Rather than wait the  six to eight weeks it takes the overlord to finally get its shell over the 3 o'clock, a brave zergling is taken from its brave five brothers and sisters and bravely charges up the ramp and scouts the base. He bravely spots Thug's reaver plan and is on his way out when he is bravley ripped to shreds by the three defending zealots.
 Crizis, sencing that this was the time to stike, orders another hatchery and his first extractor with the money he has. He then orders 18 Zerglings outside of Thugs base, who are lead by Zergling Ed. After deciding his troops are skeptical on the oncoming battle, he gives a moving speech:

- ***Grunt Gaggle Gurg!!! (Sound strikingly close to a vaccum cleaner sucking up Jell-O) SUUUUUuuuck Gurgle Ga-ga-ga-ga-GAAAAAAAAG!! Chomp growl chomp! (noise only otherwise made by sucking hashbrowned through a straw), AAAAAAARRRRREEEEEEECCCCCCCCCKKKHHHHHHH!!!!!!!***
Motivated by the chatter, the zerglings raced as fast as they could up towards the mouthless zealots, who's number had risen to five.
Outnumbered three to one, thug can either:
- A) Take em on in the open and pray for good luck
- B) Wait until they enter the base, then take them on and hope for good luck
- or C) Use the reaver he just made and make Zergling Stew out of the attackers.
As tempting as choices "A" and "B" were, Thug chose "C" and the battle ensued...
Realizing his attack had been a SUCK-sess, CriziS morphs Hydralisks and Zerglings, as well as more drones to keep his war machine going. Shortly after the first hydralisks growl and vomit to welcome their birth, does Thug manage to sneak a shuttle...
Ouchie indeed. Thug's rediculously large slugs had managed to kill almost all of CriziS's army and drones, and the zealot "Diversion" ended up tearing the base up before they were put down by a third wave of Zerglings. All that it takes now is just one fatal push. Soon Thug loads up two reavers, and more Zealots are rallied outside CriziS's main. Pretty soon its all over...
Lessons Learned:
- 1) Reavers rule vs zerg
- 2) You can always rematch
- 3) A much better match will follow and be Br'ed by me 8)
- 4) First time Battlereports CAN be good
- 5) Early Expansions come with a risk...
End Game
Well, that wraps it up. It wasn't a very good game, but it was pretty short and easy to make a report on. The good news is that game two that I will soon write is lots longer, with 5 times more screen shots and 4 times more notes(!). This is my first Battlereport and I feel pretty damn good about it. Thanks to Mplayer for the cute baby shown below (In the member portrait thing) to JediTalion, a.k.a Wedge88 for yelling at me for every single grammer mistake and making it that much better (Its damNit, not damMit, damnit!). Also thanks for Lviewpro's excellent software, which helped a ton with all those cool texts and positioning things. Thanks to microsoft paint for giving me a simple editor to use as backup of Lviewpro. Thanks to Thug457 and CriziS for letting me do a Battlereport this. Thank you very much geocities!!
