Obviously, the game was on The "Lost" Temple. The
combatants are Candle and [ToJ]Newbie. I watched. Yay! Instead of telling you
where the players started and what race they got, I'll just show you a map.

Both players started mining those annoying minerals you have to
get to buy stuff. Candle decided to send his overlord to 9 o'clock to see if
Newbie decided he wanted to start there. Surprisingly, Candle found Newbie
there!

Newbie
countered that move by sending a probe of his to 6 o'clock to see what Candle
was up to.
Newbie opened the game with a pylon, double-gate while Candle
powered early building a hatchery at his natural expansion followed by a
spawning pool and another hatchery at his natural.
The probe reached Candle's base and passed by the morphing
hatchery and proceeded to the main. After seeing the morphing spawning pool,
Newbie, satisfied with his findings (or not satisfied) decides to attack the
hatchery at the expansion with... *drum roll* a probe!
Newbie follows up his probe with a brand new Zealot from Auir
that starts the long walk over to the hatcheries at the 6 o'clock natural. At
around the same time, Newbie added an assimilator and a cybernetics core to gain
access to the higher tech facilities.

Before the zealot could arrive to the Zerg infestation, 2 drones
engaged the monstrous probe. What followed was a bloody battle where the probe
attacked the 3rd hatchery while the drones attacked the probe.

The zealot ran into the expansion to find that the probe was
nowhere to be seen. The zealot raged with fury and attacked a creep colony
morphing to a sunken while it was vulnerable. Before the soon-to-become-sunken
was at 75% hp, a horde of zerglings hatched and disposed of the deadly zealot
with the help of the bleeding sunken.

After gathering a few more zerglings, Candle sent a counter
strike against Newbie's main.
The
12 zerglings ran into 3 zealots at the top of the Protoss entrance. Candle ran
the zerglings back in hopes of luring the zealots down with it. Newbie was not
to be easily fooled. The zealots were on hold position and didn't follow the
zerglings down. Knowing the attack would be hopeless, Candle ordered the
zerglings back to the 6 o'clock expansion to resume its defending duties.
Neither players were idle during the preparation and duration of
the skirmish. Newbie added a forge while Candle morphed a extractor at his main.

At this time, both players decide it's time to tech up a little
and Newbie warps a robotics facility followed by a support bay while Candle
morphs a hydralisk den and begins upgrading to lair.

Soon afterwards, Newbie adds a citadel and starts warping in a
nexus, pylon, and assimilator at his natural while Candle sends a ling to the 12
main to check for a possible Protoss expansion and starts morphing lurkers.
Newbie's only cannon is next to his forge near his Nexus, his
expansion and most of his base are free from detectors (foreshadowing).

Newbie decides to be safe and builds a pylon and cannon above
his ramp and another cannon at the expansion. Newbie also finished construction
on his shuttle and reavers and loads them up. At the same time, Candle starts
rallying his forces outside Newbie's base. Now let's take a break for an update.

So far there are not attack or armor upgrades.
Newbie's reavers arrive first. I'll let the pretty picture tell
you what happened.

The reavers destroyed most of the drones at the Candle's main.
Candle was able to save 4 or 5 drones by running them to his expansion, but the
rest were blown up by the fat reavers. Hydras come in and keeping them spread
out, the reavers went down with minimal casualties (aside from all those drones
that blew up in the same manner as those in the top left picture).
At about the same time as the reaver drop, Candle launches his attack on
Newbie's expansion. Again, I'll let the pretty pictures do the talking.

Basically, Newbie got owned. The only defense at the expansion
was the cannon. Obviously, hydras/lings > cannon/nexus. Newbie saw the lurkers and
put up 3 cannons hastily above his ramp to make sure he had detection if the
lurkers attacked.

Candle also decides to expand at the 9 o'clock mineral only.
Yes, that's correct, the 9 o'clock mineral only. From the pic you can also see
that the reavers are still in Candle's base.

Candle starts building sunkens at his new expansion for
protection AND offensive purposes. At this time, Newbie tries to bust out from
his containment.

The zealots draw the hydras into the cannons and Newbie gets the
advantage by having cannons. Candle, not wanting Newbie to win it this easily,
runs away into his lurkers and the tables are turned. The attack is easily
eliminated. After this battle, Candle pulls out his hydras (or maybe they were
killed?) Either way, only the lurkers were left to guard the natural.
Thinking the threat was gone, attempted to expand back to the
natural, but a lurker attacked the nexus while warping and Newbie is forced to
cancel. He tries again, but to no avail. Candle expands again to his mineral
only. Newbie at this time makes a comment on the game.

Newbie starts warping cannons at the right side of his ledge in
an attempt to get some free shots at the buildings below. Candle morphs some
sunkens at about the same time, and a battle ensues.

With the help from some hydras, Candle's 2 sunkens defeat
Newbie's 2 cannons on the ledge. Newbie starts warping cannons again at the same
spot.
Newbie loads up a probe into a shuttle and sends it to the upper
left island. Candle expands to the 3 o'clock main and natural.
An overlord floats towards the warping cannons on the cliff and the
sunkens engage at the vulnerable buildings. Newbie cancels the 2 cannons knowing
he couldn't win. One of the sunkens gets a few free shots on the templars that
were standing too close.

An overlord discovers the new attempt at an expansion while
Candle sends a hydralisk patrols between the 12 main and natural.
Newbie again comments on his hopelessness:

It's time again for a....

Let's take a peek into Newbie's base.

Yup. 3 Stargates. Count them, 3. And a Fleet Beacon. LAME! Not
to mention

Anyway, Candle decides letting Newbie keep the island expansion
would be pretty stupid so he loads up an overlord with hydras and drops the
island.

With absolutely no defense, the hydralisks have an easy time
taking down the nexus and assimilator.
Corsairs.
They make that annoying high-pitched noise when they attack. That's about all
they do. Except for that D-Web stuff. Not to mention Newbie wasted his money on
making 3 stargates. It's not like they're gonna help much... or are they? Newbie
decides to make his final move. Now you get to look at that huge pretty picture.
For those of you who are graphically disabled, I'll describe the events.
With the help of an observer, the reaver starts taking shots at
the lurkers at Newbie's natural. After those are gone, Newbie fires his scarabs
on the sunkens. Once the first sunken is down to about 5 HP, Newbie does an
extremely smart thing and has the reaver attack the sunken behind the first so
that the splash damage kills the sunken and thereby saving a scarab.
Candle has a bunch of queens armed with broodling and as soon as
Newbie starts attacking with his last remaining units, Candle broodlings them.
The 'sairs try to kill the queens, but Candle pulls them back into his hydras
and his single muta and the 'sairs are slaughtered. Candle then broodlings the
rest of the Protoss force. Newbie resigns knowing he can't win.

Scores:

The end.
Now for a bonus pic

I made it in my free time and use it as my background. It ain't
that great, but you can d/l it by clicking on it (640x480 .bmp file) and
use it if you want.
