Hi, What's up everyone? I'll bet no one knows me... that's ok. I'm here to present my 1st battlereport,
which is (unfortunately) text-only. You see, since I was in it, i expected it to suck =Þ. Also, I did this in under 30 minutes, and 20 minutes after
the game, so that doesn't help either. And finally, I hope i didnt screw up you guys's names...
Ok, here goes... (hope to get at least a 3 hehe...but not likely)
Presenting...
A Late 2v2 On Temple
By the way...its not a Rate 2v2, its a Late 2v2. I was hanging around clan ~nohunters around
11 P.M. Central Time, seeing how my lag sucked. Basically, on a Friday Night,
With 56000+ users, and no split, there were only six (six!) users including the bot in the
channel. Anyway, CyanBloodBane wandered in and said hi to (funkysymbols)Slipknot(funkysumbols) (sorry I forgot
them hehe). They said something about needing to practice for a 2v2 tournament this weekend.
[Bad]derek also mentioned that he wanted to report a game. Of course, we were hard pressed for
a 4th player, but [FLS]Prozerran wandered in next, announced that it was noon where he was, and expressed his "desire" (funny combination of
words) to play a game.
Cyan created the game, and we all joined...except for [bad]derek, whom I
later found out had decided to make his own game and give the name after we all had left =Þ.
Wangsonn also joined as an observer.
The game...
The map, was, of course, Lost Temple, as the name of the report suggests.
The races:
- [AsF]AzNSuNBoY accidently picked Zerg, got 12 spot.
- [FLS]Prozerran randomed to Zerg, got 9 o'clock spot.
- CyanBloodBane randomed to terran, got 3 o'clock spot.
- (Symbols)Slipknot(Symbols) randomed to Zerg, got 6 o'clock spot
- Wangsonn was observer, started in middle with a queer bengalaas.
The game starts out with tons of horrific lag, courtesy of wangsonn. [FLS]Prozerran immediately
instructs him to leave, which he does against his will. There is a sudden rush of "action," as
all my drones have suddenly used 3 doses of free stimpack. Prozerran and I have some discussion.
He decides to go mutalings, and instructs me to do Hydras/Lurkers. Due to my cluelessness, I decide I
have nothing better to do than what he said, so I decide to try it =). However, I decide to try to nine-pool
the terran and catch him off guard. He was definitely not totally ready, as he had 2 rax, one marine,
and one non-walled-in ramp. I charged up and managed to kill about two marines and three scvs before being dispatched.
Meanwhile, I added a sunken, an extractor, and a hatchery at my main around 13.
Prozerran had spotted yellow's "early" pool
(early meaning before hatchery or extractor), and had gone pool, hatch at main, extractor, expand to natural.
From the reports of Prozerran's overlord, Slipknot had gone pool, gas, hatch at main. We later found out
he was going mutas. I never really got to see Cyan's base because, well, you'll see.
More gayness please
I morph a lair and a Hydralisk den, going for a lurker rush on blue, who would hopefully, be
unsuspecting because of my ling rush. As the lurker upgrade was halfway done, I sent about 16 lings to his
natural. Suddenly, a combined force of yellow Zerglings and terran M&M hit Prozerran's natural, which hadn't morphed in yet.
Prozerran canceled the hatchery, pulled his lings back to his sunkens, dug in, and politely (hehe) asked, "Any Help!?!???"
I had morphed three lurkers during the attack, so I decided to send one lurker to help Prozerran, wo was now
morphing a spire, and two to cyan's base. I also sent the lings at cyan's natural in. It turned out that
the lurkers were almost unnecessary as the lings killed everything except 3 depots, a refinery,
a missile turret, and a bunch of flying buildings (Three Barracks, One Engineering Bay, One Command Center, NO Factory). My lurkers finished off the rest.
By now, Prozerran was starting to bend under the constant pressure, and I started pumping Hydras out of my
two (Thats right, two) hatcheries. I also expanded to my natural. I had to constantly send reinforcements
to prozerran's base, including drones to build sunkens. All this turned futile when a swarm of yellow mutalisks flew over his base.
Due to Prozerran's constant urging, I used focus fire to pick off several mutas with my Hydras.
I then decided to counterattack...
Um ah the "fall" of Prozerran?
I sent my Hydras to yellows base. Suddenly, a swarm of M&M came from under Prozerran's base and
started killing drones and buildings. At first I thought the were dropped, but
later realized that they had probably circled around the edge of the plateau.
At the same time, a flock of mutas flew over and started killing his overlords and other things like sunkens. Prozerran insisted that I continue with my
assault on SlipKnot, which, fortunately, drew the mutas away from Prozerran's base. After that, my
Lurker (from the beginning) and my Hydras dealt with the M&M. however, after this, prozerran was left with
a 48 HP hatchery, one drone, a sunken colony, and an extractor. He told me to give him 12 Hydras and attack
with all the rest.
Now, if you recall, Prozerran was overtaken by a bunch of M&M. Also, Cyan had "seemingly" floated
to the bottom right island. I soon discovered his outpost of barracks, located in the bottom of
Slipknot's natural, which still hadn't been taken. I eliminated the barracks, then charged in with 8 Hydras
and 2 lurkers. I distracted and focus-fired mutas with my Hydras while my lurkers got free rapings
of drones with slipknot's attantion distracted. My attack was accompanied by 3 of
Prozerran's mutas, which actually had a lot of fun raping overlords while my lurkers were raping peons
and my Hydras were hard at work fighting enemy mutas. I kept sending in Hydras which dealt with his mutas, while my 2 or 3 lurkers almost
single-handedly (or triple-spinedly) took care of the lings. After continuous reinforcement,
Slipknot decided he'd had enough. He and Cyan gave the typical gg and left.
Scores???
Well, as I was saying, I am graphically challenged. However, I remember that the final scores showed
me with 60000+, slipknot with 48000+, and cyan and prozerran quite far behind. Definitely not typical
results...
Signing off...
