My Terran platoon has been defeated. We have been pushed all the way to an ancient Protoss Temple by the Zerg. It seems the Protoss have detected the Zerg presence on Aiur. I fear a great war is about to break out. My platoon shall remain here and gather information about these two strange alien races.

The game started like most starcraft games. It was around 8:00am EST and I had nothing to do before work so I went into clan ~Nohunters. Not much was going on so I joined clan -x17. It was early in the day, so people were too tired to yell at each other. NewbieMcNasty asked for a 1v1 and soon after DEVIL~GOD asked for one. They both smiled and Newbie created a game. I joined and saw that I would be the only one observing this game which meant no funny comments by another observer. =[

The players agreed on a Protoss vs Zerg match up and the timer ticked down to zero. After the fog of war lifted I saw that I had command over a bengy by the temple, Newbie had purple Protoss at 12:00 and Devil had infested the terrain at 9:00 as the red Zerg. I guess I'll make it a habit and check out what clans shall be fighting today.

It seems the Zerg have sent the Baelrog Brood to conquer The Lost Temple. This Brood consists of the most fearsome of all Zerg warriors. Ravenous and bloodthirsty to the extreme, the Baelrog Brood is often called upon to sow terror and confusion among enemy ranks. Resorting to atrocious acts of cannibalism and indiscriminate slaughter, Baelrog typically causes enemy warriors to flee for their lives to turn upon their own kind in order to find some desperate means of escape from the horrendous Zerg onslaught.
The Protoss have sent the Furinax Tribe. Even though the Furinax Tribe reviles warfare of any kind, they can be counted upon to defend their homeworld with savagery and honor. For generations the Furinax have served their race as weaponsmiths and builders. Obsessed with merging the sacred energies of the Khaydarin Crystals with modern technologies, they revel in their progressive crafts. The greatest feats of the Furinax Smiths are the revolutionary power suits of the Zealots and the powerful Dragoon exoskeletons.

Both players have found each other by now, Newbie scouting with a Probe while Devil sent his first Overlord to scout the map. Newbie began massing Zealots from a Gateway, and soon added another, while Devil was making Zerglings to defend his expansion
while teching up to a Lair for Lurker production. Newbie sent in a second Probe to scout and get an idea of what Devil was building. He saw the Lair morphing and Hydra den, and immediately sent 12 Zealots
to attack Devil while he was weak.
This attack was in my opinion a huge success. The zealots killed a good number of Zerglings and Hydras, they razed several Sunkens and killed many Drones. We must not
forget however that this was only Devil's expansion and he was still gathering resources from his main. He ordered his Brood to counter attack after 3 Hydras finished morphing into
Lurkers.

The fighting has been intense and the Zerg are now stationed outside the Temple regrouping. I have sent a Science Vessel out to scout the area. It seems
the Protoss now have a Cybernetics Core, a Citadel of Adun and a Forge. However no Photon Cannons have been erected which is the Protoss's only form
of detection avaliable at the moment. The Science Vessel has managed to send me a picture of what is going on. A second wave of Zealots have retreated back to
the Protoss expansion and now await the Zerg swarm. | |
The Hydralisks engaged the Zealots and Dragoons which bought the Lurkers time to burrow. Newbie sent his Zealots up his ramp and
stationed 6 Dragoons just out of Lurker range. He ordered a Probe by his expansion to warp in 2 Photon cannons, as far away from the Zerg swarm as possible, using the
power supplied by the Pylon at the choke point of his expansion. Devil began a Lurker push but the Lurkers got into cannon range and one was killed. Devil was not discouraged and his Lurkers crawled up the ramp
and burrowed by Newbie's Gateways. Newbie was losing units fast when a lone Observer spoiled the day for the Lurkers. It seems Newbie was teching to them during the attack.

This battle is never ending. The Protoss have gathered their forces and are attacking the Zerg who are now weak. Both sides are losing countless numbers. I have a sickening feeling in my stomach. How can these two
generals not care about their men!? Too much blood has been spilled yet the Protoss move on. They are tearing through the Zerg expansion using Zealots and Dragoons. The Zerg are throwing everything they have at this attack
but the Protoss seem like a run away train. ... Finally the battle is over, it took place at the Zerg main which was almost undefended. I now know the true power of the Protoss. I pray my fellow Terrans will save my platoon, this power
is unmatched. I will be closing my log now for the Protoss might pick up my signal. I hope someone reads this and saves my men. This is Commander Willwinforfood signing out.

Final thoughts
My PVZ improved a lot by watching this game. Mass Zealots is very effective vs. Zerg. As I saw from this game, and watching Capser play some PVZ,
I found out that an early expansion is a risky idea but is very helpful. A rush can really screw you over, but if you can defend the exp, you are matching
the Zerg's resources and because you have stronger units, you can just overpower your opponent. This was a fun game to watch with nonstop action and I'm glad I was
able to observe it. Any tips or suggestions for me would be greatly appreciated.
